@lionkingfan77 no, there is no Lion King 3D dvd. It was never released LIon KIng 3D dvd. DVD can NOT produce 3D images.

@Blucollection There actually is 3D DVD at least here in the States. Not as common as bluray, but I bet it has something to do with today's technology.

@JimmyJones no, there isn't, dvd simply does NOT have what it takes and needs to play in REAL 3D. dvd only plays the fake one that just need paper glasses, and those are not real 3d, example Spy kids 3.

@lionkingfan77 you can, but its worse. There is NO new 3D dvd in teh market today. If you have a 3D HD TV, you can play Lion King in dvd and your HD-3DTV will upconvert to 3D but its NOT the same quality!

@lionkingfan77 I feel kinda sorry for DVD only owners. They're trying to force people to upgrade. Blu-Ray gets better exclusive artwork and cases, way more special features and all the 3D films.

I'm gonna get Lion King in Blu-Ray 2D. I've got Toy Story 3 and that's flawless, so I'm extremely confident Lion King will be flawless too :-)

Here we're getting released a 4 Disc combo Blu Ray 3D Blu Ray DVD and Digital Copy AND a trilogy collectors edition where you Have lion King 4 Disc pack and also lion King 2 and 3 in DVD and Blu Ray so it comes out as a nice 80 dollar Gift set its a must have for all disney collectors :D

Congrats Canada only gets it on October the 5th but we actually have it in theatres in 3D for the next two weeks before the home video release Im already seeing it twice next week once 2D once 3D

@Blucollection Well of course the digital copies will be worse than DVD. They're meant to be loaded on PMPs where the screens are so small that any flaws won't be all that noticeable anyway.

@Blucollection wow, I am really excited about getting The Lion King Diamond Edition Blu-Ray now. I still have the 2003 Platinum Edition DVD.

I will be buying just the first film, I dislike the Direct-To-Video Sequels from Disney.

After seeing the fantastic results of Beauty and the Beast on Blu-Ray, I certainly think that The Lion King will be even better. It kind of sucks though that it is not going to be three discs, just two though.
