As someone who is denied the right to vote on who sits in the Seanad, while an exclusive few members of the population, here in Ireland and abroad, get to decide, in some cases with more than one vote. I see the Seanad as an illegitimate part of democracy in Ireland. It needs to be scrapped and reconstituted so all the people get to decide who makes the laws that govern the people and not just the elite few who can vote.
