  • So the best 10 drivers are: 1st Michael Schumacher 2nd Juan Manuel Fangio, 3rd Ayrton Senna, 4th Alain Prost, 5th Sebastian Vettel, 6th Niki Lauda, 7th Jack Brabham, 8th Gilles Villeneuve, 9th Kimi Raikkönen, 10th Stirling Moss

If somebody complain about Vettel. 15 pole positions in season 2011, 10 in 2010, victory with a Toro Rosso, 11 victory in 2011, 5 in 2010. He is 24 years and he hs more poles than Lauda for example. And the RB7 wasnt so good i think. Webber only 3rd with a luck.

  • @christophertoth96 Anyone is entitled to his or her opinion. I would add that in the case of Vettel, he has 2 things going his way. 1) He's driving the absolute best car and will be doing so for a couple of years and 2) In his era of driving, the quality of the drivers around is lesser than in the time of Lauda, so It helps the numbers just like in the case of Michael Schumacher.

  • This one is almost Impossible, different eras... it is easier by decades... I agree that those on the video are among the best, but there are also names like Ascari, Brabham, Graham Hill, Rindt, Piquet and Fittipaldi that could deserve a place in a top 10..

By the way, it is just me? or you are a Nigel Mansell fan? you always rate him very high.. lol

Also, I don't understand one thing... in the 80's video, Senna is # 4 but he is # 1 of all times.. I think he was already at his best in the 80's

  • @socolsodot The thing with Mansell is people remember and judge him by his mistakes, but in my humble opinion, he was one hell of a driver, fearless with bucketloads of courage and talent, he feared no one not even Senna, and that is why I regard Mansell as one of the very best. Senna is # 4 in the 80's because he was so much better in the 90's, he fully matured and became the absolute master we all know.

  • @lazerpod66 He really was hell of a driver.. I just wouldn't rate him that high in overall skills... I can give him credit as maybe the best and most aggressive overtaker I've seen... That move on Berger in Mexico 90' for example, was simply breathtaking... I think Senna was already mature enough to be at the top of the list in the late 80's... but, everyone has its own opinion and that's what makes it interesting... ;)

  • interesting list and great viewpoint, BUT do you really believe Brabham/Piquet deserve less place than Mansell

and that #8 is a real spot for Sir Jackie Stewart?

in all other aspects great job (particularly thanks for #10 Schumi's place):-))))))))))))))))

  • @redupfox I believe that Piquet, a very good driver lacked behind Mansell and it was prooven time and time again in 86 and 87. Piquet was kind of a slacker by the end of his career, and that is what most people sadly remember about Piquet. As for Stewart, once again, a great driver, but not a bag of thrills and excitement like Senna, Mansell or Gilles Villeneuve. Michael Schumacher....Nowadays, I would place him in a top 20 list, but not a top 10, happy to please you on this...;-)

  • @lazerpod66 and what would be Top-20 in this case?:-)

  • @lazerpod66 Mansell does not deserve top 10. here are the reasons:

    1. lost 3 titles with the best car on the grid

    2. would never won a single GP if Warwick accepted Williams offer for 1985

    3. was beaten by most of team-mates: - ALWAYS by de Angelis - USUALLY by Prost and Rosberg - by Patrese in 1st part of 1991

    4. was not smart enough

    5. was fat for McLaren in 1995

    6. watch Adelaide'94 start

    7. was a moaner and afraid to have Prost as team-mate

    Beat that!

  • @redupfox All I see here is that you are a Mansell hater. None of your reasons are right, all bullshit, I just wonder who is your favorite driver, just let us know and write your arguments if you dare.

  • @lazerpod66 I thought that you created all these stuff just to debate and not to put down other people. I was wrong, at least you've clearly indicated differences in our cultural backgrounds.

    Adeus

  • @redupfox You have a distorted view of Mansell, we simply do not agree, nothing personal.

  • @redupfox

Why Mansell was one of the best drivers ever:

    - He had a natural car control

    - He was faster than Piquet in the same car

    - He had the balls to overtake

    - bad luck in 1986

    - 1987 was a normal accident with bad aftermaths

    - even though he was fat he still drove as fast as all the others of his time

    - he drove in a time most of the top-drivers ever raced

  • @X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X All true, plus he feared no one not even the great Senna.

  • well swing my cat through a campfire senna no1 if gilles hadn't crash the '80's would have been totally different and gilles would have senna pulling his hair out .

    GILLES with a 1500 bhp v12 FERRARI

  • Villeneuve: fastest driver ever

  • Ok, you can talk what you want, but there are no doubt that Senna was the #1 !!!!

  • Okay...you say in the video that Moss is the best driver never to have won the World Championship. Well then why is he #7 and Villeneuve (which also never won the WDC) is #6 ? Wouldn't that make Villeneuve better than Moss? Aren't you contradicting yourself a bit? For your video statements to be true, Moss 6 and Villeneuve 7, which seems far fetched anyway...

    Cheers

  • @victoroppenheim The vids says that Moss was the best to be uncrowned, and Villeneuve was the quickest, not the same.Far fetched...there will always be someone not agreeing with you anyways....

  • @lazerpod66 right you are...but you make a video about the best drivers...so you put villeneuve 6th in the top 10 and you put moss 7th but you say moss was the best uncrowned. in a top 10 'best' drivers, you put villeneuve better than moss, and that's all...no mention of how quick they were. the top is best f1 drivers...although i do agree with most of the top;)

  • @victoroppenheim I feel the list is correctly spreaded and I like the order, thanks for your comments..;)

  • Too much british list, missing Fittipaldi, Piquet, Jones, Brabham, Hill, Alonso, Hakkinen, Rosberg(All Champions) Reutmann...

  • @1965Mello Brits dominated the sport, fact. It's a top 10 list, not a top 50, can't fit everybody.

  • @1965Mello Im sorry but in no ones list will you find the above in a top 10 BEST DRIVERS. All of them are insignificant compared to the ones in this video. Probably Mansell is the only questionable one in the list.

  • Here are my thoughts about Mansell. He was a great driver, one of the best ever, but he was beaten by teammates way more than Senna and Prost were. Senna was only beaten by Prost, Prost was only beaten by Senna, Lauda, and Watson(but he missed 3 races and only lost to Watson by 1 point and it was Prost's 1st year). Mansell only beat de Angelis once in 4 years(and lost in 85), didn't beat Rosberg, beat Piquet once, Berger once, Prost beat him. The only teammate he consistently beat was Patrese.

  • @Kyle1851 To be beaten by either Prost or Senna is nothing to be ashame of. Mansell wasn't beaten by Elio in 85, they were in diff teams, but 85 was a learning year for Mansell at Williams and he did match Rosberg. He outclassed and outran Piquet in both 86 and 87. He was superior to Berger in 89. In 90, he simply fell victim of Prost's behind the scenes manoevers which he was well knowned for...Mansell is right up there with the best like him or not.

  • @lazerpod66 Yeah, my comparison between Nigel and Elio for 1985 probably was bad. Nigel was awesome to watch, especially the Silverstone Two Step on Piquet and the outside pass of Berger in Mexico. I think he is well placed, slightly behind Senna and Prost but better than everybody else of that era easily.

I have a question for you. Do you think Senna's better performance in the Lotus in 1985 compared to Mansell in 84 was more down to Senna or the improvement of the Lotus team?

  • @Kyle1851 Great question. Mansell had a mountain to climb when Chapman died in 82 in the name of Peter Warr, which hated Mansell from the start. This situation seriously hampered Mansell's perfs and it showed in 84. Once out of the Lotus oven, he blossomed and became the Mansell we all know today. Now, Senna's arrival within Lotus was a great asset, a supernatural guy like Ayrton will ring out results, and I must say that 85-86 were great for Lotus also, Elio led the 85 season for a while.

  • @lazerpod66 Warr's quote that Mansell would "never win a Grand Prix as long as I have a hole in my arse" pretty much sums up what Peter Warr thought of Mansell. Then, in his second year away from Warr, he was a serious championship contender and should have won it. It would've been really interesting to see Mansell and Senna in the same cars from in the mid to late 80s. That would've been something special to watch. I wonder how that partnership would've ended.

  • @Kyle1851 To me, Mansell easely matched Senna in pure speed. Mansell had incredible mental strenght, he was the only one not intimidated by Senna, he absolutely didn't fear him at all. If he didn't have all the back luck encountered troughout his career, Mansell would be today 3 or 4 times WC.

  • @Kyle1851 Interesting. I also wander what could have happened if Mansell and Senna had shared the same team. According to what happened between Senna and Prost, Prost and Mansell, and Mansell-Piquet, I only imagine a cataclysmic partnership, plenty of politics, whining, unfair tricks inside (and outside) the track.... It's not because Nigel or Ayrton were "good" or "bad" boys, it's just a matter of common sense: top egocentric drivers sharing the same team usually ends in disaster!. Good quote!.

  • @Kyle1851 Going on with that dream team that never happened (Mansell-Senna in McLaren or Williams) after watching this excellent 1990 (watch?v=KQIiivGlwtA) I convince myself there's no doubt a disaster would have come: watch from 11:50 to 12:26 what Nigel says about his relationship with teammate Prost as early as 2nd race of the season, Brazil. I'm sure the same would have happened between Mansell and Ayrton as teammates!. Anyway, it would have been good for us to enjoy, for sure!!!.

  • @lazerpod66 Going on with Mansell, is interesting to watch at this ( watch?v=aBMy9tASvCk&feature=related ) because in this interview Mansell talks about himself, about teammate Prost, ex teammate Piquet, and Senna. I mean, this vid was recorded after 1990 GP when He announced retirement and is useful for rating him (and his rivals) in this list. In fact, He refers to 3 out of the 10 driversin this Top 10 list.....

  • @lazerpod66 In regard to Mansell-Rosberg: totally right, He match Keke in 85. Mansell-Piquet: correct, He outran Piquet. But still, for many reasons, didn't find the way to clearly beat him, in fact point collector Nelson got the results, I think his technical skills were relevant for having a chance on Mansell. It looks to me the same happened with Prost: did Nigel think Prost was going to do the hard work for him in regard to technical issues or hide the info?. Optimisic, to say the least!.

  • @Kyle1851 cant argue with your logic, im british yet i never rated mansell all that highly, i was happy to see a brit on the top step of the podium but he never really stood out to me as one of the all time greats

  • @xelvemagicx This is a common thing I tend to see whatever the country. I'm Canadian, and Jacques Villeneuve, to me and to alot of people is a overrated driver that flushed his career down the crapper.

  • @lazerpod66 i think what people liked about him was his fearlessness and ability to put a car where it shouldnt have been, he like mansell were great drivers and worthy of a championship but only when everything else fell into place.

  • @xelvemagicx People liked which driver's fearlessness??

  • @lazerpod66 villeneuve

  • @xelvemagicx british?? never rated mansell?? get a grip dim-sum

  • How you can rate a guy like Mansell above Gilles Villeneuve is beyond me! Mansell was IMO from the "great 4" (Mansell, Piquet, Prost, Senna) the worst one. Prost beat him in that poor Mclaren in 86! He also beat him as a teammate.

btw: I dont like such top 10 lists. IMO each era has its great drivers and all of them are equally good, u cant compare Fangio on his W196 with Vettel in his RBR7 rocketship. But one thing is sure, Villeneuve is without doubt the coolest guy in this list.

  • @FerrariSpirit91 You simply can't ignore Mansell's speed and bravery. In your so-called great 4 of the 80's, I put Mansell 3rd, way way before Piquet, the points collector. Mansell was very unlucky, and yes, he was responsible for some of it also, but to me and alot of people out there, I rate him a slim shade below Senna in speed. Now, Gilles is legend, but he drove shitbuckets and still manage to win. My order in the list is correct, a shame Gilles left so early in his career.....

  • he list. 1. R. Peterson. 2. A. Ascari. 3, J. Stewart. 4. Nulvolari. 5. Schumacher. 6 Fangio. 7 C.Reutemann. 8. M. Hawthorn. 9. J. Surtees. 10.S.Moss

  • Lol. Mansell never gives up. Except than when he raced by McLaren in 1995. He gaves up their 2 times.

  • @7878Roland The 1995 Mclaren was a turd that Mansell couldn't drive. Instead of risking his life and turning in circles going nowhere( like Schumacher nowadays.....), he wisely retired, it was a good move.

  • @lazerpod66 Is that so Jeepy: I undestood that Nigle returned to F1 in 1994 driving Senna's car, but never understood why He drove for McLaren in 1995, with a bad car and with one of his best enemies commanding the team: Dennis!!!.

  • @lucianoestivill Hi my dear friend Luciano, hope you are well brother. What happened is that Mansell was supposed to carry on his position at Williams for 1995, but sponsors convinced them that they needed new, younger blood for 1995, so Coulthard stepped in. Ron Dennis threw a lifeline to Mansell, and he took the bait, but it was a poisoned one, we all know how that panned out!

  • @lazerpod66 Hey OLD BUDDY!!!. Interesting!!!. I remember the Nigel-Williams episode in 1994, He says so in his autobiography, but I still can't believe it was the only reason. I guess his patchy relationship with Frank Williams and P. Head had something to do with it as well. I believe Mansell would have been a SERIOUS title contender by 1995 or even in 1996 if He had a Williams car at his disposal... It's a pity He was given a BAD McLaren!!!.

  • My quick top 10. 1.Schumacher (Beceause he never give up) 2.Senna (The king of Monaco) 3.Prost (A great thinker) 4.Fangio (Maybe just the best, but you can't compare old with new cars. 5.G. Villeneuve (A legend) 6.Stewart (The hero of the 70's.) 7.Lauda (Sadly from that crash) 8.Clark (A legend too) 9.G. Hill (A hero too.) 10.Vettel (Because he learned very fast.

  • Shumi at 10? LOL! HE is, at a minimum, in the top 3.

  • @JOECOLDER Lol, never, just look what your old Idol is doing nowadays....shreadding Carbon fiber everywhere....

  • I would change prost for gilles

  • what the helll wheres ruben barichello, allan mcnish, and takuma sato

  • @badassmonkeykilla Lol no more cocaine dude, kick the habit now...

  • @lazerpod66

Hilarious to see that you are blaming Schumi for cheating and yet Senna was no different - Watch Suzuka 1990.

  • @MultiBikram Senna did the 1990 Suzuka shunt, granted, but Schumacher cheated at almost every race, we can't compare them.

  • i completely agree with ur no.1 ayrton is without a doubt the greatest F1 driver ever. it was just his speed and precision. R.I.P senna.

  • @ninjachimp67 Yep, the best of the best.

  • From 1986 to 2010:

    1. Schumacher 2. Senna 3. Hakkinen 4. Prost 5. Mansell 6. Alesi 7. Bergher 8. Boutsen 9. Piquet 10. Nannini.

The best of all times :

    Gilles Villeneuve

  • @marco116d How can you dare compare gods like Villeneuve and Senna to your shithole Schumacher dumbshit....

  • @lazerpod66

honestly that comment says allot about your view on schumacher; it also gives a perspective on his greatness when even his most bitter and hateful critics rate him as a top F1 driver of all time.

  • @AfflictionFTW Lol,i might add that you are really narrow minded, just look at how good your paper champion is nowadays....

  • @marco116d i beg to differ, 1.senna 2.villeneuve 3.piquet 4.prost 5.berghar 6.patresse 7.mansell 9.hakkinen 10.schumacher

  • G Villeneuve ! Absolute raw talent

  • There are so many greats that have fallen into obscurity over the years, one of my personal favorites was Tazio Nuvolari, (sp?). He raced for decades in all manner of cars and won a lot of races. He raced when he was sick and dying near the end, he truly was a great who you always saw smiling. You can just tell from the look on his face he loved what he was doing, I bet he was easy to get along with too, not a prima donna type. Senna was wonderful, but FAngio was too, so many were.

Ciao a tutti

  • Fangio was the best because driving a car with almost the same power as far more finite wheels and the car was unsafe. You know the mechanics. Argentina Fangio and best

  • highlights of the current f1 fernando alonso, jenson button, mark webber, felipe massa e rubens barrichello were on the trail when schumacher was the champion.apart from kimi raikkonen and juan pablo montoya. not counting the old damon hill, jacques villenueve and mika hakkinen.

  • yep. Nobody owns the truth but other f1 drivers from his time said that he was one of the best drivers at the limit = many broken cars ;)

  • WHERE'S JOCHEN RINDT?

  • @Austria4ever1000 I rate Jochen Rindt, He was a very capable driver, but probably, rating him as a "All Time Top Ten F1 driver", could be a bit too much, but it's just an opinion, the "truth" doesn't belong to me, honestly.....

  • how Senna is The 1st place, the list is right, dont matter the another drivers that are in the list

  • Great pictures. I love the older cars.

  • why is michael shumacer not number one? he owns all the records, and they will never be broken.

  • @youngdeezy1990 Owning all the records doesnt make you the better driver. Driving isnt math.

  • Emerson Fittipaldi #6 or #7 the best driver controlling the car never seen, tactical and fast 2 times world champion with Lotus and McLaren

  • jack brabham ? 3 times world champion ... changed the layout of the F1 car putting the engine from the front of the car to the back ??

and alain prost deserved 3 of his world championships... lets not forget him taking out senna in japan 1989

  • 1 senna 2 prost 3 stewart 3 fangio ( ex aequo ) 5 lauda 5 clark ( ex aequo ) 7 schumacher 8 mansell 9 moss 10 fittipaldi ( he fought against lauda and stewart winning 2 world championships)

  • My exact top 4 aswell, but I can never decide on 5-10 cause my opinions always change.

Its an absoloute insult for people not to put Senna first. Only the big man upstairs knows if we will ever see anything like Senna again.

  • Many thanks for your list ! I also quoted Jim Clark as one of the best all time. He was a genious ... My top four is extactly as yours ... There are a lot of similarities between Senna and Jim Clark ... They were very fast and concentrated racing drivers .. with very high mental capacity. RIP Senna !!

  • ... imo, 1 Nuvolari, 2 Rudy Caracciola, 3 Senna, 4 Fangio, 5 Clark, 6 Prost, 7 G. Villenueve, 8 Schumacher, 9 Ascari, 10 Piquet.

  • it is impossible to compare drivers from different eras!

  • It is very clear that you have your own opinion about the drivers - I like that a lot.

But do you HAVE to get the top 10 all wrong? You must be crazy! ;-)

Anyway, I think you got the people in the top 10 right, just in the wrong order - I can see on your other videos that you are a Villeneuve fan, but in my opinion, he doesn't belong that high of the list.

  • @Lolzilol123 Ok, I would like to see your top 10 in the order you think, then allow me to comment.

  • @lazerpod66 I would say my (very quickly made) top 10 would be: 1. Senna 2. Schumacher 3. Fangio 4. Prost 5. Clark 6. Ascari 7. Stewart 8. Piquet 9. Gilles Villeneuve 10. Häkkinen As this list is made very quickly, I might've forgotten some extraordinary drivers.
  • @Lolzilol123 Ok, Now let's see....Senna, ok(Stupid when you say my list is wrong and I have Senna p1), 2 Schumacher. Now this proves how little you know about racing, and numbers are the only thing that counts in your mind.3-Fangio, could be elsewhere(higher), 4-Prost, seems ok, 5) Clark...a joke, Jimmy was way better than Schumacher. 6-Ascari, belongs there 7)Stewart, ok 8) Piquet, a good driver, but not in a top 10 9)Villeneuve, higher, 10) Hakkinen, ok., but no Lauda, dumb and uncultured.

  • @lazerpod66 I was trying for a teasing tone in my first comment - not insult you. I'm sorry if it came across that way. I don't see how putting Schumacher in second could "prove how little I know about racing" - it just shows that I have an opinion. It is based on who he has bettered and how (Belgium 1991, Spain 1994, Belgium 1995, Spain 1996, Hungary 1998 just to name a few outstanding performances)

I don't see why Villeneuve and Clark should be higher up? They didn't prove anything IMO.

  • @Lolzilol123 Lol, Clark and Villeneuve didn't prove anything, please stop spreading your ignorance chap.

  • @lazerpod66 Why was Clark better than Schumacher and Prost? And why was Villeneuve better than Piquet, Stewart and Ascari or whoever you think he should be higher than? I'm actually having a bit of a hard time keeping track on who should be where, so could you please move my top 10 around to reflect your opinion?

At least we agree on Senna being the best :D

  • @lazerpod66

Are you kidding? Clark won 3 world championships and was the fastest driver of his generation.

Villeveuve didn't win championships but he was easily the fastest driver of his generation.

Why such a hard view of these men?

  • @smackbunny What's your point?

  • your dislike for Schumacher is obvious by putting him behind the likes of moss, who was a good driver, but never won a WC. A good list but for me schumacher is neck and neck with senna at the top. Anyone who can drag ferrari from midfield up to dominance deserves to be right up there! If, and its a big if, he can do the same with that pig of a merc in the next two years he puts his greatness beyond doubt for me

  • @Cormacken67 I do not dislike any driver, I base my opinion on logic, and racefacts, not stats. Schumacher's lame results this year clearly points out to the fact that 1) He is more than over the hill, and overrated, and 2) He will never reach the top step of the podium, you can sleep on it.

  • @lazerpod66

Moreover, there is no sense point that Schumacher that was responsable for Ferrari´s years... Brown, Todt have merits .. Schumacher ... We can see this year what he is doing .. Now .. he said that the problem is the age... 1/3 of the points of Nico is due to the age ...

  • You are mad!

    Where is Piquet?

    Where is Ascari?

    Senna before Fangio!

    Senna before Clark!

    Senna before Villeneuve!

    Senna before Stirling Moss!

    Senna before Jacky Stewarth!

    Are you brasilian!

  • @cosmo9000 Stewarth??? What is that, a new medication?. No, I,m not mad, just logic, and a proud Canadian, how about you, are you daft or something?

  • Rite... True...

Top 10... 100 per cent AYRTON SENNA is the best of the bests... The number ONE...

  • For me Villeneuve should be Second... the safety of cars was not much high. He was really fast but you're right he do many mistake. The one i hate is at Zandvoort. If he not done this mistake may Gilles was F1 1979 Champion. May he was alive today :( [RIP GILLES] Nice Vid. and very good list :)

  • Schu - testing and engineering - good. Lauda - a guy you don't want behind you. Stewart - icon in so many ways. Moss - icon. G. Vill. - steel balls. Mansel - a bit whiny, but delivered. Prost - my guy of the century. Jim Clark - before my time. Fangio - a no brainer. Senna - a fine driver but not the god that we make of him.

  • finally someone who knows something about formula 1!!!!

    very good list!!!

  • @andremoh Thanks for the intelligent and constructive comment.

  • @FormulaOneFan4Eva absolutely Clark is my number 2

  • Hum, Let Shumi 10 when you put Mansell 5....... And Nicky Lauda was the best in his time, I think he deserve better than Mansell who was the third or forth in his time (Prost, Senna, Piquet). Nelson Piquet was a very good driver too. Most recently Alonso is one of the best driver ever.

  • @Ghostrider912 You are lucky to see him in 10th, I put him there by principle. Mansell, hell unlucky, ultra fast a nd brave, deserved at least 3 more championships lost due to luck.

  • I a little bit disagree with you put Schumi in #10. Even with a lot of cheating and controversy he made. He could be in #2, unless.

  • @AndrewWang1234 In reality, he would be 20nth in a top 20 list as far as I'm concerned. I put him 10th just because of my conscience, and I still regret this specially after the Hungarian GP 2010.

  • What Schuey did on Barrichello, my Dear Jeepy (similar to Estoril 88) was a real shameful and serious thing..... No way... I guess a banning for the rest of the season, and huge bill (1.000.000 dollars or something like that), an maybe reduce his points to 50%, could be a good punishment...... He should retire I guess, honestly......

  • @lucianoestivill Retirement is the way to go, he just should have never made a comeback.

  • I must say I would chance some positions, but not the names. Very nice list. And Senna was the best!!! He dominated like no one, got so many poles and wins on a underpowered car and was unbeatable in the rain. SENNA!

  • Good call on #1. If he'd lived, Senna would be the 7-time champ and without Schumi's cheating and controversey.

  • @jws381 Yep he would have been champion in 94, 95, 96, 97 no doubt if you look how the Renault/Williams package blossomed.

  • @jws381 I think that Senna is the best driver of all time, but i think that Shumi is better to give the feedback to the designers so they can develop a great car. But Senna were no angel. I don't remember what year it was but when Prost drove for Ferrari in the last race Senna drove straight into him in the first corner to claim his world champion title. In cars that unsafe he gambled with both of their lives and the safety of spectators and marshals.

  • what means R.I.P?

  • @JoaoSuperCarros Rest In Peace.

  • @JoaoSuperCarros

Rest in peace or in portuguese

    Que em paz descanse QEPD

    Valeu

  • Surprised You put Michael Schumacher only 10th, Ayrton Senna is naturally the best ever F1 driver

  • @mhossell02 Honestly, I put Schumacher 10th because of all the raw driver talent he had, but for the sake of the sport, he deserves to be around 12th or something...

  • PHEW!Niki is in the list.THX from Austria

  • @Austria4ever1000 Of course he is, a great driver Niki from a great country Austria is, hi to everyone there in beautiful Osterreich!!!!!!

  • @lazerpod66 WOW. Thanks to this comment

  • @lazerpod66 WOW, thanks for THAT commentary, i feel flattered

  • @Vlajko1312 Mansell 2nd of all time... please !

  • Clap clap clap!

Well done! :D (except for schu-pig-macher)

  • @nigel561 Well, I had to place him somewhere to please some logical Schumacher fans (If that exists!!!!!)

  • @lazerpod66 Yeah, but I would put in that place a lot of names; Emmo Fitipalfi, Depailler, Ickx, Peterson, Andretti, Hill (father&son), etc.

    Anyway, is a good list!

  • @nigel561 I hear you mate, but to keep everyone happy, I would have to create a top 20!!!

  • Great list you have there, just 2 things I disagree upon, although that's personal.

    1. Gilles Villeneuve shouldn't be included. Undeniably he had talent, and he was very quick, but he lacked consistency. Compared to the others in this list he trails behind.

    2. Fangio and Senna should be switched I think. Fangio raced in an era much more dangerous, and with equipment hard to handle correctly, in which a mistake could very much be lethal.

  • @hoogestefan I agree that Villeneuve has no stats to talk about, but he was such an exeptional talent that he simply was on a seperate level, just imagine if he channeled that supernatural talent in a competitive english car of the time.....

Senna and Fangio.....the debate will carry on forever, but you and I are both right, thanks for the great comment.

  • @lazerpod66 Reasoning accepted.

  • Good top10, guess the order is not right. It's undeniable that Schumacher needs a higher spot, even though he had little competition in many championships and his acts of uncompetitiveness. Senna is the best I've seen, Prost almost the same level.. Piquet is missing there

  • @nosdefalcao You know, Schumacher in my view doesn't deserve to be higher because he is even overrated in my book, and so far, his 2010 comeback proves my theory. He was awesome, but his canvas is way way too blotted with controversy and underhanded gestures. Piquet was good at being at the right place at the right moment, but he would be in a top 15 or 20 surely.

  • @lazerpod66 I haven't been seen much of races in the last 5 yrs, and haven't even seen Schumacher drive, but he's not looking very good :). I think age is a part of it, the body is not the same anymore. I hope he races a couple of years, then we'll see his true nature without all "extra" support. Ultimately we can compare guys from the same gen better, Piquet is much better than Mansell. Mansell only won 1 title when he had the best car by about a sec/lap. Mansell was really fast, that's all.

  • @nosdefalcao I'm sorry, but even with the age factor, Schumacher is taking a serious nosedive and is looking very ordinary..I'm not impressed.

Piquet...hmmmm, he won in 81 with a car filled with regulation bypassing tricks and stuff (6 inch ground clearance rule), in 83, Brabham used illegal fuel, and in 86 and 87, he was simply outclassed by Mansell, he won with 2 things, Mansell was trailing his usual bad luck(Adelaide 86) and Piquet relied on consistency and points collecting .

  • Ha ha ha who is Micheal Schumacher??? Oh that guy that been beat by team mate Nico Rosberg lol....

  • @ae86truenoblack

no... that guy that can't qualify to Q3

  • In my opinion: 1. Ayrton Senna, 2. Jim Clark, 3. Juan Manuel Fangio, 4. Alain Prost, 5. Stirling Moss, 6. Michael Schumacher, 7. Niki Lauda, 8. Jackie Stewart, 9. Fernando Alonso, 10. Nigel Mansel, 11. Nelson Piquet, 12. Gilles Villeneuve, 13. Mikka Hakkinen, 14. Emerson Fittipaldi, 15. Graham Hill. Soon to be included: Lewis Hamilton.

  • what about Jean Alesi

he was quiet, blisteringly quick and probably technically the best

but early on in his career he was plauged with accidents, mechanical gremlins and bad, uncompetitive cars

and later in his career he was just too old and his skills were dulled too much

    great driver, just really unlucky

  • @kyzrvlhlm1995 Alesi, technically the best???You have to be joking, right? Technically, he was nowhere, just like Berger. Alesi was a Gilles Villeneuve kind of driver, who will drive anything and if the car handled badly, then he would go around the problem instead of fixing it. Keke Rosberg was also like that...but you are right, his career was plagued with bad luck and mistimed his team choices.

  • My list: 10: Gilles Villeneuve 9: Niki Lauda 8: Nigel Mansell 7: Striling Moss 6: Jackie Stewart 5: Michael Schumacher 4: Alain Prost 3: Ayrton Senna 2: Jim Clark 1: Juan Manuel Fangio
  • @hmdwgf I agree with your list the most!

specially with El Maestro as number 1

  • I don't think Schumacher should be in the top ten at all, so may drivers of the past given the same oportunities and equipment would be way better than him, Reggazoni, Peterson, Hunt, Reutteman, and the list goes on and on.

  • this is a good list and video,BUT WHY THE HELL WOULD PUT SCHUMACHER SO LOW ON THE LIST!? hes the greatest,he ownes pretty much every record in the book. how can he not be number 1!?

  • @youngdeezy1990 Beecause of a multitude of reasons, namel cheating and racing with no opposition, he's a statistic champion, no more.

  • @youngdeezy1990 The fact that has records doesn't mean he drives the best. He drives better than Barrichello, than Coulthard, etc., but Senna, Clarke, etc. are way superior. Schumi has always been champion with the best car and the whole team devoted to him. Senna, for instance, had to face Prost in the same car with equal conditions. Don't be silly to associate numbers with quality. Basic reasoning.

  • @adrct Good intelligent and accurate comment.

  • SENNAAAAA!!!!

  • yeah villeneuve couldve been a champ had the nasty crash not happened, or at least wasnt so brutal

  • @Vlajko1312 ,good comment and interesting, thanks for posting

  • I agreed with this top 10 drivers, except for Prost. Because I can't believe you have Senna at 1srt without Prost a least 2nd. Senna carrier was based only on Prost one's and it is very dificult to think Senna without Prost and vis versa. Senna has beaten Prost but Prost beaten Senna as well.

So I think if Senna is 1st, Prost is 2nd. And If Prost is 1st, Senna is 2nd, then 3rd Fangio etc..

  • 1º - Ayrton Senna da Silva. O melhor. Deixa todos esses pilotos ae no chinelo.

  • We must respect people's choice about a list of "best drivers ever", if on the other hand they also accept that it's in reality a list of favorite drivers. We all have good reasons to prefer one driver over another, so it's cool and fine to me. Cheers to all F1 fans.

  • But cmon now...even most of the racing drivers on everyones top ten would agree that Senna was probably the most proven talent Formula1 has ever seen. He was even Schumi's favorite driver.

  • Schumacher deserves a space on any top 10 because cheating all aside he has still been champion the most times of any driver. Even with cheating, to do that there must be talent. Prost should never be ahead of Senna. They even proved it themselves over countless races and qualifying laps. Given the same car, Senna was usually even over a second faster. Prost could also never race like Senna in the rain. No one has really proven themselves in F1 in the rain as Senna did

  • @BATTAOUSAI I fully agree with you BATTAOUSAI, intelligent comment, thanks.

  • Senna is the best of the best. That's what I think, but Häkkinen should be there in about 5th.

  • @piuthemagicman Senna was the best agreed, but Hakkinen is not all time top 10 material, cmon, even less 5th........ But don't get me wrong, Mika was an awesome driver, but less than those in my list. Mika was much better than let's say Fernando Alonso.

  • Good list however I would rate Schummy higher despite the controversy.

  • Best British drivers of all time: 1. Clark 2. Stewart 3. Moss 4. Mansell 5. Hamilton Best all time Top 5 for me: 1. Fangio 2. Senna 3. Clark 4. Prost 5. Schuamcher
  • My opinion is: 1.Fangio 2.Prost 3.Raikkonen 4.Schumacher 5.Senna 6.Lauda 7.Moss 8.Hakkinen 9.Alonso 10.Vettel (he will be higher, for sure)
  • Lol, Raikkonen before Senna, lol, mega lol, ultra lol, this list is one of the funniest I ever saw, thanks for the laugh awganetz....

  • @lazerpod66 hahaha really many many many drivers were better than raikkonen just for example, schumacher ,alonso ,villneuve (father and son) ,senna ,mansell , hill (father and son) ,lauda ,hakkinen ,hamilton and this were just an example

  • Let's say ok 3rd Raikkonen, 4th Schumacher but how could you put Senna 5th while Prost is 2nd???

I mean when they had the same car Senna won twice the championship

  • @Fountoukos13 raikkonen ? you guys are crazy here ,so stupid

  • @rikardopolis you just didn't get what i meant. I said that he when he was saying 5nd Senna but 1th Prost you can't have Raikkonen and Schumacher between them + that Senna should be in Prost's position.

You should check a comment i have made probably on 2nd page about my top 10

  • @rikardopolis You just didn&#
