  • Way to not show different settings AT ALL

  • like Hysteria.-Muse

  • Uh I fucking hate these bass distortion videos! I would like to get just a bit of distortion for my bass, but every time in these videos they just have to turn it all the way >:( So I can't hear what it sounds like if you only use a little bit of distortion.

  • Old Fizzy more like

  • just got mine :D:D

  • when he starts at 2:38, kinda sounds like a stoner metal riff, like Electric Wizard..

  • im going to buy this shit for sure

  • Set right this pedal sounds great on guitar.

  • Dear lord, i want this.

  • Guitars sound awesome run through this.

  • i wanna buy this one soon

  • @andreasmariosetiawan its worth the money it kicks ass

  • DO WANT!!!! I am soooo buying this at guitar center in the morning

  • The best for all types of music.Heavy as balls music, hardcore(d -beat crust) not hatebreed, stoner rock.Ive always come back to this pedal.and it feels soooo good..Turn on my sunn ,everything on ten except the mid, plug my ric in the overdrive.Running thru my 15s.you better fucking duck cuz!

  • xan i do rage against the machine whit this?

  • @SaSuKeUcHiA1 You can do anything with this pedal. You just gotta fiddle around

  • i use this for guitar and its a whole lotta overdrive.....

  • I don't car how many people hate it... This rocks! This is what Flea uses for around the world!!

  • i got this for my bday.. now my mom hates me XD

  • Worst gear demos ever

  • i have been looking for a good overdriver pedal and i think i just found it. thanks

  • I have this pedal! And I love it! Would never get rid of it!

  • I had been looking at this pedal for about a week. Two days after i saw this video i went and bought it at Guitar Center. This is an AWESOME overdrive pedal! It sounds great with my American made Fender Precision Bass and my Warwick 150W. I love it.

  • i saw this video and 2 days later i went out and bought this pedal. It sounds AWESOME by far one of the best bass overdrive pedals ive ever heard

  • I own this pedal. It really rocks!

  • I swear i was wearing pants at the beginning of the video...

  • sound like the bass sound in Around the world by Red Hot Chili Peppers

  • This overdrive is an underrated gem. Nice demo btw!

  • Priice pleaase?

  • @javiXYX $99.99

  • I have found that rolling off the volume on your instrument lets you get more of a crunch than an all out OD

  • This and an Ibanez GSR180 is an eargasm

  • what song was that at the beginning?

  • love this pedal to death way more than the big muff, the boss retains low end and has the sweet dynamics unlike the big muff (plus overdrive is way better than fuzz in my opinion)

  • Honestly, the description detered me a bit at first, but this is definitely the best demo of the pedal I've found so far. Good work!

  • Does this loose bottom end??

  • @TpSLAPADAbass I have this pedal and you lose a bit of your tone but you can try and compensate with the EQ settings. I find that it sounds too digital sometimes but with some tweaking it'll sound alright.

  • @TpSLAPADAbass no it has the eq so u can pick up low and adjust the highs, it doesent really get muddy either

  • Ok its a toss for the boss one and the ibanez any suggestions

  • lets have no examples of clean tone and no mention of the gear being used, that'd be great, thanx.

  • holly shit,it sounds really goood!!!

  • i really hope he realized that the ODB stands for OverDrive Bass and not Old Dirty Bass

  • @n0possibility hehe yea, but you gotta admit it, "Old Dirty Bastard" is a cool nickname for this pedal.

  • for what it is the check light?

  • @MrFunjoWorld so you know if it is activated or not

  • Awesome video! By the way i need help. I want to get a Cliff Burton sound. Can i get some help on settings?

  • @tokorev747777 EH Bass Big Muff

  • @tokorev747777 Is the best you can get for CB sound. I'd say mids at about 11 bass at about 14 and highs at 13,5. That's what I use and sounds quite nicce

  • @Krakthor Im sorry but it needs to be a bit more, easy so i can understand lol im sorry i suck with pedals

  • @Krakthor Oh ok i figured it out! THANKS!

  • @tokorev747777 you have to mess around with it, i've gotten a Cliff like tone out of mine before, just have to get one and screw with it

  • @n0possibility Yeah i have been messing around with it. I got a prety awesome sound out of it!

  • Overall, which do you prefer, this unit or the Ibanez PD7 Phat Hed?

  • 2:38 jizzed

  • Holy Hannah. This pedal + Sans Amp bass driver = Amazing full thick bass madness. I have a cheap head and these two pedals make up for lack of tone. Shit yes.

  • I have experienced this pedal sounding very cool alone. But as soon you fire it up with two distorsion guitarist, the sound just dies in a mud of distorsion. Unfortunately

  • Comment removed

  • Me personally, i keep the overdrive down a bit, as this pedal can be a bit much, but trust me it sounds great.

  • how much do these retail for in the UK gearwire?

  • Sounds... Cliff Burtonish :P

  • @iPodGaming thats a good thing!

  • @killmeandit

My comment meant it in a positive way :\

    he's my #1 inspiration.

  • that sounds fucking awesome

  • i got one it is awesome

  • This sounds nice but bass amps should have a gain setting build in to them.

  • @ImmortalDestructor

Yeah but if you want to boost that gain, or if you want to go from a clean sound to a more overdriven song mid-song (or for different songs without having to change your amp) then this would be needed. Also it'll be able to be used as a clean boost, for solos (not that many bands use bass solos anymore) and stuff like that.

  • play some ELP with that shit!

  • great review!!!

  • It is the original pedal or some modified? Sounds great.

  • I love that none of your wires going into the pedal are the same. How is the feedback with this pedal? I use my Blackstar OD pedal that I interchange with my guitar amp, but it is only a littlte dirty, no fuzz really and low end loss.

  • Finally a pedal rewiew without tons of talking! :D

You can actualy hear the sound of the pedal xD

  • Fingerstyle + Boss ODB-3 = JACK BRUCE BADASSNESS!!!!

  • do you think this will sound good on my epiphone thunderbird 4??

  • Drains all my sustain, maybe Im doing it wrong

  • BADASS!

  • I love boss fx but I draw the line when it comes to distortion and overdrive. They just haven't mastered it yet. Big muff and ProCo Rat is the way to go. Just my opinion.

  • @palenoise love me a good RAT. in fact, love me MY good RAT.

  • @palenoise .

how much is the big muff?

  • @31rS3RP3N7 About 80 euros in Greece. Probably a little less where you're from.

  • @palenoise

ok so 10 hong kong dollars is 1 euro. in hong kong i got the odb 3 for 400 HKD. even at a cheaper price i think the odb is the low end of ani over drive which produces great sound for its price// but i dunnu some people like it some dont its just opinion.

  • @31rS3RP3N7 That's cheap dude. You're lucky to have such prices.

  • @palenoise well, yahoo auctions and "xpat asia" are both very trustworthy websites.

  • could I run a synth bass from my computer (using reason 4 and a audiophile soundcard) through this pedal, then back into the PC. (DAW like reason 4)

  • whatre you playing through and on?!?!

  • Very good Pedalllll, its amazin, i have one!

  • big muff is better IMO

  • @bahistarugo big muff is garbage no low end

  • @jvmc08 nooooo way man the big muff holds all the low end, thats what the dry switch is for

  • I am so buying this!

  • do you think that the harmonix big bass muff is better

  • @TheShimshon this is better IMO

  • I have this pedal and its worth your money for sure!

  • old dirty bastard :D sounds excelent i got one mysef too and i like it :)

  • why is the bass so quiet and his voice so loud?!

  • dare god! That sounds Fu*king sweet!

  • haha my friend lent me this pedal cuz it actually sounded good with my guitar..so i just use it as a dist pedal..it seems not to be very good wit ha bass..

  • Tested this one today but i went for the Digitech Hot Head check that one out!

  • do I have to spend like 25$ on a digitech brand adapter or will anything work with this?

  • Nope. You can run of 9Volt battery, but it only lasts about 10 hours (don't take my word for it).

  • Pretty cliff burton-esque. not the same tone, but same dist level.

  • Awesome effect. Sustains the low end very well, even with maximum overdrive and gain, which is exactly what I wanted. It gives you this warm, fuzzy, rumbling tone. Highly recommended.

  • i bought this the other day and it kinda sucked it did not sound nothing like this but maybe its because my bass sucks though

  • @jvmc08

Umm, yeah, maybe you should go into detail about your rig so other users can compare? I havnt got one yet, but my rig is Fender Rumble 60W, Schecter Stiletto Extreme 4-String, Boss Bass Equaliser, and a Zoom B2.1u at my disposal, not often used, really. But I'm confident I could get a killer sound from this pedal, any views?

  • I have this pedal and it sounds great. I play metal. go for a John Cambpell tone with less hair on it. '82 Stingray, fresh DR's .65 .80 .100 .125 (BEAD), volume about 8 o'clock, treble at max and bass about 8 o'clock in to the ODB-3, level at 1'clock, both EQ's at 1o'clock, balance just above min. and gain at 3:30ish in to a GK2001RB with mids boosted and a Basson 2X10 cabinet. using this pedal to cut through 2 guitar players.

  • I've tried it on two different bass guitars, the sound varies ALOT depending on what bass you have.

  • must... buy... overdrive

  • Got it Christmas morning, works great!

  • just got mine half price!

  • where ?

  • is the third wire on it an adapter?

  • yes

  • Yup

  • Love the way you can dial in the clean for the right level of fatness, Great Pedal.

  • dude finger style and this sounds badass

  • ive been looking for a bass distortion for fucking ages! glad i found this

  • dude this pedal is awesome im getting it

  • Could it be that the MD2 and ODB3 are the same thing?

  • i just use a proco rat distortion guitar distortion pedal with my bass. it sounds great.

  • Is it the proco juggernaut?

  • no its just a vintage proco rat guitar distortion.

  • using a guitar OD on bass will give a trebley overdrive that really gets odd and makes odd harmonics higher up on the dial

whereas a bass OD will even things out and, oh hell, just watch the video

  • does this sound good for a geddy lee/chris squire style tone? my pedal is way to distorted to get a good tone like that, but then again im playing a guitar pedal

  • Go for a tech 21 pedal.

  • Wow... Sounds really cool :)

  • How do I get the sound you're getting?

  • They all are the same color...

  • lol, but y bad reaction? :(

  • +10

  • I had this pedal and it sounded great but mine broke

  • how would this be on guitar?i heard some people use it on guitar

  • overdrive/distortion is overdrive/distortion. there is no difference in this pedal and a guitar distortion besides the low B string sounding better. i use it for my guitar and its fine.

  • omg this pedal sounds so much fun...keeps a lot of low end too, great

  • i would prefer running a MT-2 with a blender. sounds so brutal

  • is it just me or does this pedal on anything but all overdrive sound a bit... vacant, as if the overdrive is separate entity and the dry tone pokes through?

  • I have this pedal and Il let you know it has a great overdrive sound.... I thought that too when watching this vid but I think it could be the vid itself not giving a clear quality sound...

Also, He uses the overdrive balance all the way to the wet tone, I like to kinda mix a bit with the EQ and balance to get a really nice tone,,,, I always find using balance thrown all the way up sounds pretty horrible....

  • I WANT ONE!!! must find money

  • hah same hear!

  • It sounds awesome when you strum with your fingers.

  • I got one of those, and I think I broke it :/ All of the sudden, it began sounding all wrong... And I can't get it to sound right again

  • did u change the battery?

  • It's hooked up to a power supply, but it's fixed now - Turns out it was defected.

  • ohh, cool.

  • Yeah, Boss pedals are built like tanks, your battery must of ran out. I'd charge it or get a new one. I don't have this pedal, I can't afford it (hehe, cheapo), I have a DS-1 instead, but I had the same problem, I didn't think it was the battery, until I changed it.

  • fingerstyle sounds like flea's solos :D

  • that is because he uses this pedal

  • i know :P

  • is this better than the digitech overdrive?

  • ya digitech dosn't have as much low end

  • Makes me want to cop a bass now... i love the lows on this thing...

  • If you turn down the lows and put Overdrive in full ... you get that chrunchy bass sound of lemmy from MOTORHEAD !!!

  • is this good pedal ????

is it worth to buy it ????

    reply quickly

  • I sed to have one. It's quite good. It has a Robert Trujillo distortion too it... Well close enough.

  • definitley worth buying, I bought one today for 50$ at a sale.

  • Ya i have it too, I got it for 30 bucks at a music store, it was the demo they had out on the floor. Good as new though!

  • no it isnt

  • sounds like Entwistle tone, which is a very good thing. :D

  • does anybody know where to get a cheap pedal????

  • eBay

  • how much is an oOverdrive???.

  • i boght this overdrive last year. it cost me 100 bucks
