The audience seem to have missed the point slightly.

Chad is there talking about being in the moment and they're all busy filming it on their cameras so they can watch it at home and have completely missed just being in that moment. Ditch the technology and start living people.

Steve and Chad are both very good at their respective styles though. great video!

These people spend the time and money and effort to go to experience live music and then they stand there watching it through the tiny screen on their phone?! Jesus! Just enjoy the gig. I've been playing for almost 35 years. I've noticed that there are 2 types of drummers.

The first has a drum set and might even know how to play it. They like to compete and see who can play the fastest.

The second has a drum set and does know how to play it and has alot of cool friends that also has a drum set and also knows how to play it. They encourage each other to try new beats and even play real slow. And that's when the world becomes their percussion instrament.

I disagree man, i dont think hitting the drums hard is anywhere near as good a technique as the stuff whitey is using. I think steve can control his drums rolls far better than chad, and his fills aren't just a load of noise. Chad's a rock drummer, whereas i think whitey could play many genres easily.

ok, but you can't say that Chad is only for the hard force drumming, hitting hard is part of technique, when you have good technique you can play hard or soft, with arms or only with your wrist and fingers, on this vid Steve's fills are almost the same when Chad does whatever he wants... Chad could do all of his fills easily but does Steve be able to do Chad's fills? I don't know... too powerful...

maybe not, but playing diffrent music styles it's nothing special at that level... if Chad will must play with some jazz band, he won't make any shame, he just prefer funk... and he is the best in funk. For me most important thing is how you play, not what you play, and in my opinion Chad's playing is way better. As you see we have diffrent view and this conversation may last forever :)
