Snake was a student from Degrassi Junior High and if you watch from the beginning you'll see him playing in the Zit Remedies band. Caitlyn ends up dating Joey again in next generation is also mentor for Ellie (hooks up with Ellie's bf in season 7), and of course Spike returns as Emma's mom. There are also a few reunion episodes in the earlier seasons of next generation where a lot of the old stars return.

I am 15 and i am a huge degrassi fanatic and i got to say the old degrassi was way better and for you new kids coming to degrassi and saying degrassi old school sucks because it had horrible acting its because linda and kit hired actors that had little to no acting experience because it was a small company.

Degrassi junior high was the best the cast was far more real and beleiveable as a bunch of kids going throug life this is true for most 80s shows i have noticed (Ramona is a good example. why cant i find any episodes of that classic on tube?)most shows today are so transparent very rarely do you have casts that show a good believability of portaying kids. they all have what call "Dakota Fanning syndrome" kids who have the manners and volcabulary of 30 year old adults.

It isnt but realisticly a child in the 8-16 age range doesnt have the volcabulary of a 30 year old adult the original DJH was good at this kind of child beleivability as where shows like Grange Hill (in the UK)which is the British equivilent of DJH.

It's kind of stupid to say 30 year old vocabulary because most percentage of 30 year olds no longer have higher education.

Anyways Degrassi TNG is just as believable and realistic. In fact some of the times the storylines are actually involved with the cast playing the character.

Just because you have more seasons doesn't mean its better (the only reason the old Degrassi went off the air was because they didn't have the money, they still had good ratings). Degrassi TNG has already jumped the shark with JT's death (yeah I know he wanted to leave for college but they could have come up with something else), the lame Craig stroylines, and oh I'm think I'm pregnant! plots. It will get even worse the longer it stays on.

the reason the original degrassi went off the air had nothing to do with money, and everything to do with something that is lacking in tv today

the creators didnt want to rehash the same stories, and didnt want to show 20 somethings as teens

so they ended the show on a high note (the final epi and the movie getting the best ratings of any canadian show of the time)

tng has become a parody of itself...which is sad, as the original show was groundbreaking
