@robinly the next part sounds like he's "being thrown in hell" for the same rebellion upon which the leader or the court didn't much agree to [which could mean the government] and the next verse sounds almost like he's praising these leaders [leftist perhaps?]. Not much to explain on the first verse [again I am thinking of this in a political sense] and she's mine could definitely be about an Idea that he believes is his alone and that no one can take from him.

@robinly I am not saying that the view of "she's mine" could be interpreted as the Devil, I am merely interjecting with a different perspective of how it could be interpreted and am not much of a political person myself but I do feel that I had to base it more politically as that's what most of the verses are suggesting. Anyway, I hope that that kind of answer how I had viewed it differently, but I am in no way trying to disregard anyone's own opinions :)

Wonderful talent! I didn't get the political viewpoints mixed in with what I assumed was a lovesong. But other than that, the man writes, sings, and plays beautifully!

I saw Brett for the first time when he opened for colbie, and john mayer!!! He was good, i definatly like his acoustic stuff over the stuff he does with the whole band. I like his stlye a lot!
