  • BEWARE! This is just an interview and no music.

  • shut up, PLAY!!!!!

  • thank you for posting this

  • are you gettin the feelin that these boys dont like answering questions...and they all lied about there names.....why...?

    cuz thats the blues son....

  • Thanks for sharing Gruevie. I enjoy the history of legends like this man. I love listening to street musicians. There was a wonderful singer who use to play in front of the Garadelli store in San Francisco years ago who was so good that famous singers from all over the world would come to hear him or sing with him. You'd see lemmos pulled up to the curb sitting there while an opera star sang with the man. I wish I could remember his name. Played guitar. Anyone know? 60's and 70's.

  • Man, the interviewer sounds so patronising to all of them >_< , like he's kinda laughing at them all inside.

  • floyd sounds awesome

  • 2:33 is a bass guitar...

  • there's this new kid who's the piano version of john mayer. He's good. check him out

    JJ SHIFF- FERRIS WHEEL

  • quit interrupting you fucking dick

  • 2:38 Am I Evil drums

  • Floyd Lee came to France to play in Passage d'Agen Blues Fest near Toulouse around 2008. He blew the roof of the theatre off.

  • Interviewer is a snatch asking "how" when he should be putting a cork in his piehole..

  • "How'd you get into the Blues..." That's like asking the interviewer, how'd you get into being a pushy New York Jew with a nasally voice." In both cases, they were born to it.

  • Mississippi Delta Blues is the shit, but everybody cant do it. It's something very deep about the music

  • spirit of america !!!!!!

  • Kind of rude saying, "Do you LIKE playing in the subway?" Duh, I'm sure he'd probably rather play Radio City Music hall to a packed house, but you don't have to rub that in.

  • i love that nobody knows how they started playing. nobody does haha

  • @laxlaxlacrosse couz the first stringe wherethrough they exercised was the umbilical1

  • I thought the interview was great! Good job!

  • How did he get into the blues ? Why not just ask a southerner how did he become so southern .

  • I like hearing his stories. If he was telling it to me I could listen to him all day

  • "How did you get into the guitar? How did you get into the blues n' stuff?"

this ma'fucka stoopid? He was born in the blues.

  • I dont like new youtube, may I back to old presentation?

  • @helmusico you may.

  • @gathyman Tell me how, please.

    Bless

  • @helmusico I agree. I wish we had a choice but I bet it comes down to advertising to keep it free. If it really came down to either advertising to keep it going then I can stand it. But I think a lot of people miss the old ways best. Just easier and more personel.

  • watch?v=Oz3j6wIPzYE He rocks=)

  • Youtube search Floyd Lee....watch this man deal some blues to ya.

  • Wow, what an odd mixup. Sounds like he's had alot of Japanese students play with him. Do they think, "I think I'll go to America, study English, maybe get a degree, see some sights... maybe play a few licks with an old blues man."

    Just weird. Great sound, though.

  • dude, these 3 guys, are the freaking weirdst blues trio i'v ever seen kkkkkkkk

  • tell me one reaon you think why people would enjoy watching you interviewing them with hearing their music.

  • 0:56 ???

"He didn't know I played the sh!t out of it"

  • "He didn't knew I had the guitar in the closet and I could play the shit outta it..."

  • lol

  • meaningless without the performance

  • Don't know if anyone mentioned it in the comments earlier but he's the cousin of John Lee Hooker. And has played with Jimmy Reed and Bo Diddley.

He has a website called floyd lee.

  • Mississppi Delta Blues .... check the spelling!!!

  • Do you ever make comments that anybody could possibly give a crap about, or do you spend all your time on youtube picking out spelin messtakes? oohh I love to go on youtube and comment on all the spelling mistakes. It makes me feel smart.

  • Stupid? How so?

  • the guy's name is floyd lee

  • dam, i was expecting them to play -.-

  • Jimmy Reed started his musical career playing in the streets of Gary, Indiana and Chicago. It was a 2 man band: Reed & Willie Joe Duncan who played a unitar (1-string instrument).

I did a tribute to Jimmy Reed - just 74 seconds long on my youtube site.

    Greetings

  • wtf?? never hear them play

  • Do they ever actually play? The dude with the camera kept talking so damn much. I would really like to hear what those guys produced.

  • yah mee too, I like to know the info yes, but, did wanna hear them , i skipped got impatient, when I go to youtube I wanna hear immediately not 2 seconds later, get on with it and talk after you earned my interest, NOW lets hear some tunes, gonna look at the other vids he has maybe its story

  • does any one get the feeling this guy is full of shit

  • Uh , blues players are notoriously story tellers and are full of shit. It's part of the tradition.

  • no lol, why do you think that?

  • A search for Floyd Lee in YouTube and Google will tell you he's not.

  • that was very anti-clamatic

  • wish i could have heard em play

  • It sounds like the drummer is playing Ravel's Bolero.

  • Keep on playin' guys! Shows,streets,subways,stage..whatever.We do the same here in Kuala Lumpur. Some folks call us beggars or junkies. They are just ignorant idoits.Just keep on playin'..especially the blues!

  • i kept waiting to hear the music.....

  • man he is full of condensed milk

  • Actually he's got his baseball facts wrong.

The Cleveland Indians won the World Series in 1920. Ck this out at baseball-almanac. Also in '48 like he said.

  • floyd lees my hero!! long live the blues.

  • Interviewer is a total shithead, Floyd Lee kept his cool and didnt shove his mic up the bastard's ass...

Floyd Lee still got the blues... Long Live the Delta Blues!

  • lol i tip these guys all the time.

  • They have been playing music for 45 plus years in the NY Subways...

  • spell mississippi right plz:)

  • Chikara isn't his real name. It means sexual energy, (loose translation) in Japanese.

  • Young musicians in Japan play outside stations but they never expect to get paid. They also play in parks because there isn't anywhere else they can find that much free space.

  • the clip is very good

  • what's wrong with this guy, didn't he hear the first time that he like to play in the subway to feel like he can go when he wants and ppl can come and go as well. it felt like he was mocking him. Floyd lee...great man of the blues...love him

  • wow i really wanted to heat them play haha

  • Dude if your gonna interview someone atleast seem to have an interest in the topic and what the guy is telling you.. You sucked and came across as a complete ignorant dick..

Best quote "I was playing shows before you were born"

  • @Sshhead they don't really answer a lot of the questions.

  • @Sshhead Yeah the interveiwer was a fuckin nob end, not so much his questions but he was very patronising of the old fella. Why? probably jealous of his freedom.

  • fail

  • surely a better person than you.

  • Wow, what a life.

  • I don't think the interviewer had a clue of who he was talking to.

  • interviewers a bit of a dick

everytime I play With a drummer. I Have the same problem :D

  • LET THE MAN SING!!!!!

  • the Delta Blues will live for ever.

  • inspiration.

  • great bluesman . now this is real music .

  • Floyd ususally plays in NY subways mostly at 34 th street stations. Very funny guy and good blues musician. Saw him and his band several times and loved it.

  • i love the driummer

  • i have seen this guy in the subway lolo awesome

  • I agree. The problem is that the cameraman doesn't understand the art of the interview and how to be brief, and have the musician move into the music. For a guy to ask a bass player why he plays guitar is just plain bad journalism. More music less talk. Learn from masters like Les Blank!

  • a real blues man from the delta missippi DEADLY

  • Get MORE playing and LESS talk!

  • cool dude ! :D

  • a real walking history he still has the sprit of those times

  • You are definitely lucky to have met this man :-)
