I got this netbook just yesterday, but my specs are much higher, you see I have 2GB DDR mem, 500GB HDD.. I like it and its super light.. it cost me 19,000 pesos(philippines).

I don't find windows starter horrific at all! Every problem I've had, I've just looked up on google, and found a solution. This IS a good computer, trust me :)

I have bought this computer in pink. I've called it Garath :)

It's not perfect, but I forgive it for it's flaws because I love it so much.

Problems:

~ No cd drive. You need an external one.

~ If you have the sound up high, and try to play a good quality song, it will sometimes stuff up and make an unpleasant sound. But you can just not put it up too loud, or put earphones in.

~ If you play a full screen movie the sound will jump for about ten seconds. If you move the mouse it will jump again.

It doesn't have a cd/dvd drive, which I guess is a little annoying. But this is the case for pretty much all computers this small. But you can always buy an external drive, which will solve all your problems.

And it's an awesome computer ~ worth it!

Well, there is a solution to that. If you get something like daemon tools, you can have a virtual cd/dvd drive.

Then if you get programs in iso. format, once installed you can use them whenever you like. You don't even need discs.

But you'll probably need to download the programs.

I don't have any complaints in the performance of the computer, in terms of speed. :)

Does it remain on when I close it like a mac? My current Acer starts shutting down as soon as you shut it, so if you think '...e-mails!' before leavin the house you'll be hanging around for another 5 minutes whilst the computer gets it together. I'd like to close and open it at will without the massive waiting time, bit of a deal breaker for me.

When you buy it, it will be on the setting to 'sleep' when you shut the lid. But this can easily be changed.

I have changed the setting on mine, so I can shut the lid whenever I want!

It's a great computer!

@HiZ00AMi netbook is a smaller laptop (notebook) and is usually 11" or 10.1". It has smaller RAM because its meant for web surfing and doesn't have a CD/DVD drive. its $100-200 cheaper than decent notebooks.

@MarcoMJF I think it's actually 1.5 GB ram. But it is, I should tell you, as fast as my old computer, which was full size. And it copes with my multitasking surprisingly well. When something freezes, it mostly only does so for a couple of seconds. No complaints about that, for me. :)

@FlowFingazTeam Jo schon ! Aber die Investition lohnt sich. Es gibt einfach viel mehr vorteile da kann man drehen und wenden was man möchte. Außerdem ist so ein Computer ein Gerät für mehrere Jahre bzw. 3 Jahre in meinem Fall. Sehr gut zum Arbeiten und Spaß haben. Aber natürlich muss es der Geldbeutel hergeben ;)
