Free Trade as it stands now is Free to everyone but America.
Hunter wants to level the playing field by making the Trade Fair by Mirroring what the other nations are doing.
We have a 800 Billion Dollar trade Deficit with China because of this wonderful "Free" trade. Even NAFTA and CAFTA are bad trade deals - which Hunter voted against.
Duncan Hunter may seem the most conservative but he actually is a supporter of government regulations on trade to "keep American jobs from going overseas", aka a protectionist. True conservatives actually believe in free trade and a free market economy. If you really want to vote for the true conservative, vote for Fred Thompson as even you point out in your video.
I'm just going by what Hunter said in the debates... He said he wanted to put trade barriers to counteract the trade barriers of other countries. So if China charges a 5% tariff on our goods, we should be able to charge a 5% tariff on Chinese goods. This is NOT a conservative policy. Thompson wants free trade, Hunter wants fair trade. See the difference.
I'm just saying, Hunter has always talked about "Fair" trade which will increase regulations on imports. Thompson has always been a Goldwater conservative believing the government shouldn't interfere with the free market. I just don't think regulating imports is a conservative principle, that's all.
If you allow the free market to function properly without regulations, companies can make their own decisions on whether they want to ship their goods to China despite the tariff. Because of the tariff, China will eventually see an economic backlash with investment and their economy will suffer. If we conduct "Fair" trade, that will only bring both of our economies down.

No, it's FAIR trade. If China puts the 5% on, then the US slaps it right back. It's not free trade when the other side slaps tarrifs on you.
Fred is my #2, but Hunter is #1 in my book!
