Interesting observation...I can see some similarities but I can also see that they are very different in style and character...The GTR has that muscular and racer look while the Eunos Cosmo has that elegant yet powerful look...I really like the GTR but in a different way than the Cosmo.

Thanks! That body kit (or aero kit as some people call it) was sold as a Dealer option from Mazda I believe back when the Eunos Cosmo was sold as new.

To get one now...You would have to find a used kit from someone who removed it from a Eunos Cosmo.

No doubt, it's a rare kit these days...There might be some aftermarket body kits still available out on the internet. I know there were a handful of kits available from aftermarket tuners back in the 90's.

Nice Cosmo, clean and simple is best. I'm seriously considering buying one but it doesn't seem very practical as an everyday driver and in the winter some times at that. Still VERY tempting none the less.

Thanks! You're right...It's not very practical but that's because it's not designed for practicality...It's been built for Grand Touring which doesn't involve just going to work and carrying kids, groceries and soccer balls all day. :)

I only take the Cosmo out for a spin when I'm in the mood for a cruise or for maintenance/upgrades or for a road trip (or car show/event).

I heard Mazda was thinking about it back in the day when the Eunos Cosmo was fresh on the scene but for whatever reason...They decided to only sell it in Japan.

It probably wasn't brought here because of emissions or something along those lines. It's to bad though, the thing looks pretty sweet and we would be able to buy 3 rotor motors for much cheaper if they were already here.

I agree...Possibly emissions and also the cost of creating a version for North America...Consider that the Eunos Cosmo was a special limited run car and I think more of a "flagship" than a mass-market model for Mazda.
