@Demaker222 Yeah, Joe Perry left Aerosmith in 1979 and Brad Whitford left a couple years later. But they both returned in 1984. Joey Kramer never left. I've seen Aerosmith about 17 times, including the 1982 line-up with Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay. I would have to say they all deserve the statement of being in Aerosmith "forever", since the original band from 1972 has been back together since 1984 after only 4 to 5 years apart.
@Animelloveer the only good songs in Nine Lives were Pink, Taste of India, Falling in Love (Is Hard On the Knees) and Aint that a Bitch, but i agree Get a Grip was amazing
@GunsNRoseses I actually said I disliked Get a Grip, but it was better than Nine Lives.
xD
Only because it had original songs written ORIGINALLY by the band, not some sappy songwriters. But it was a little too poppy for Aerosmith's original hard rock/blues rock/heavy metal sound.
Personally, I like their older sound, from their debut album to Done With Mirrors.
@Animelloveer oooh, yeah we both agree! plus it had Amazing Get a Grip Eat the Rich Cryin n Livin on the Edge! yeah and it did come before nine lives though, yeah i think Get a Grip (the song) was poppy but they can pull it off ;) but yeah like right AFTER done with mirrors, their music changed from hard rock n blues rock to this pop, but like i said they pulled it off ;) my favorite album in the 70s-early 80's Get Your Wings and Rocks
@Demaker222 AND hole in my sole on Nine Lives, haha but i LOVE permanent vacation, Angel, Dude (Looks Like A Lady), Ragdoll, Hangman Jury, St. John, Permanent Vacation
Aerosmith played here in Dallas, Tx at the CottonBowl Texas Jam 1978. Van Halen was the opening act. There will never be another great concert like that one. IMO
Great song. Brad Whitford's guitar solo starting about 3:13 and lasting until about the end of the song is Very much Jimmy Page influenced. I read that Joe Perry says that he was to strung out and did not even play guitar on this Great song,
Yeah you are right it did just looked like he left when Thom Gimble came xD

I actually really love this album. Underrated, but so good. Anything after Pump, however, I'll pass.

When they were taking votes for which album to go on tour to play in it's entirety my vote was split between this one and Get a Grip.
