paris should have died. what a piece of shit. that fag got humiliated by menelaus then crawls away and allows other trojans to die for his pathetic fighting ability, supplemented by his sexual appetites.
Yes, this was a TERRIBLY WRITTEN scene between Hector and Paris. Saying you love someone and then scaring him with a physical threat is ABUSIVE....Instead of telling Paris that he'd rip his face off, Hector should've just told him that he wouldn't defend him if Menelaus wanted to kill him....that would've made an awesome dynamic later in the movie, when Hector DOES choose to defend Paris from Menelaus.
haha i love this! I dont know what you're doing but i know you're up to something. And if you muck this up i will break both your legs and make you crawl back to troy. I love you good night. to bad this scene was lost.
ugh i couldnt stand Paris or Helen in this movie..its becuz of them this event started and its becuz of them innocent ppl died of their selfish act...and i dont think it was love anyways seems to me it was just lust. i dont believe they loved eachother but i could be wrong. it just felt like in the movie they were just lusting not loving..
It was actually because of the gods that the war started...at least that's what it says in the Iliad...but if we base it from what we see in the movie, then I agree with you.
^^ well yes i have read the Lliad and it was becuz of the gods. But the director didnt add that idk why.. but based on the movie thank u for agreeing ^^
@Animalcorssingfan, the events from which this movie is based on comes from the Iliad. And according to that story, their gods exists. And by the way... how do you know Jesus and his father exists? I'm not going to get into an argument on religion here, but I would like to point out that we people have different beliefs.
The Trojan War begins at the wedding of Peleus and Thetis (Achilles' parents). All of the gods are invited except Eris. Eris is upset about this and sends a golden apple to the wedding on which is inscribed "to the fairest". Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena think they should get the apple and ask Zeus to decide who is the fairest. Zeus, not wanting to offend anyone decrees that Paris should choose. The three goddesses offer him gifts in return for being chose. continued...
Hera offers him the chance to be a great king, Athena offers wisdom and skill in the art of war, and Aphrodite offers him the love of the most beautiful women in the world-Helen. Paris like Aphrodite's offer the best and declares her the fairest. The rest is history.
God I love this. I love Hector. and I like Paris too. :) I didnt think that the war and that Hector died was his fault. omg he loved Helen and Helen loved him and of course she ran away with him.
@kougermasters and yet, he didn't do it, when Paris DID everything to endanger Troy:)... 'Cause he loved his brother and understood his love for Helen (I know ur comment has been made 2 years ago but anyway...)

He didn't want war, Menelaus did. Love doesn't start a war, otherwise it would do away with the phrase "make love, not war".
Paris loved Helen and what was he supposed to do, let Helen be mistreated and beaten by Menelaus? If I were Helen, I'd run away with Paris for love because it's worth it.
And Troy's destruction was not Paris's fault, either. If it wasn't for that poor excuse for a creature Odysseus, Troy would've lasted.
Don't blame Paris, blame Odysseus because he's the idiot.
no u still are, we know the thing that set the war off was paris taking helen away, FACT, so what im tryin to say is, if paris kept his penis undercontrol then maybe troy could have survived, im amazed by ur stupidness
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I'm not stupid, thank you.
I'm saying Odysseus didn't have to make a stupid horse and attack Troy like that.
Paris loved Helen for who she was, not what she was. How many men loved women as women?
I understand Homer tries to make it look like Paris's fault, but we weren't there, so how are we to judge? I personally think Homer was a drunk for writing Paris so negatively and one such as Achilles so positively.
ok, what u believe about what truely happend is irrelvant, we are followin the facts that are given, now i know, that 1 life is not worth thousands, plz just accept this, stop being foolish, ''oh paris loved her for who she was'' who cares!!! THOUSANDS of people were killed, women, children, men, young, old, everything, but i guess ur right those thousands of people died so that helen could be luved. tard
Those thousands died because of Agamemnon and Menelaus's pride. Menelaus didn't love his wife and Agamemnon wanted the world. He just used Helen and Paris as an excuse and thus Helen and Paris are blamed for the war.
If anyone was selfish, it was Agamemnon, Menelaus, Achilles, Odysseus, etc.
I just don't think love brings war, unless Paris only wanted her for sex, which I doubt.
What would you do if you were Paris and Helen? They gave into their desires and we're only human.
Homer was Greek. The Odyssey has a Greek bias. Go fig. On the other hand, in the Iliad, the bias is in favor of Hector, and Achilles's hubris is played up. (And actually, in the Odyssey, Homer more paints it as Helen's fault than Paris')
Actually the Iliad is a bit more complex then that. Hector is seen as a decent character but he is often shown to be very weak, the only times he has moments of glory (Book 12-16) is because of Zeus' blessings...and that is only because Zeus is going to give honour to Achilles. The Fall of Troy is all the will of Zeus.
Yes, having read sections of the Illiad in school, we can blame Zeus the most. Zeus was a pimp. He had at least 100 children, and Athena even sprang from his own head. Talk about a real problem child if it gives you a headache before it's born!
The entire story of the Iliad is the will of Zeus and the exploration of honour in Homeric society. Yeah I agree, Zeus should have realised Athena was going to be a tough one lol
The battle is real, but do you seriously think infidelity (women cheating on a King) will influence all the Greek city-states destroy Troy? Also, historians have still not found the famous Trojan Horse.
Rofl, so they don't make a monument? Even if the Trojan Horse was actually used, then the Greeks would make more Trojan Horses, better with more weapons and armor.
Hector is like one of the sexiest characters in the movie. Achilles too though. But I just love how Hector is so honorable and such a gentleman... And Paris is adorable, but they really did make his character kind of weak and almost gay looking. (Not that gay is bad!!!)
@Jazmin3319 I agree with everything you say, it's just worth pointing out that Paris, "weak and almost gay looking", is probably the most faithful character translation from the original!
Paris is funny in that part huh? He looks cute. I will try to upload more parts some time, it's just that I don't have the memory on my computer that I need.

I really wish Hector did not scold Paris for taking Helen. He has no right to deny his brother what he wants most.
Besides, Paris knows everything about love, that's why women shag him.
