Multiple reasons i didn't go up the bank to watch the landing. 1. I didn't want to be deathend by the sound from the engines. 2. I didn't want to distract the pilot from his landing of the aircraft . 3 Behind the bank is all downhill anyway so i wouldn't have seen much of the landing and i wanted to be somewhere here i knew i was in a safe place of not gettin struck by either Landing gear or flying debrit blown up by the engines
thats funny because on my scanner the pilot in a PA-28 that came in about 45-50mins before that E195 radioed to Exeter tower 'Just thought id better you know we've got someone in a field here what looks like recording videos' so i obviously distracted him. And i think the landing of a plane with 100+ passengers is a little more important than my 2 min video.
I didn't mean to sound harsh or anything saying that. I just wanted to point out why i didn't go up the bank. Pilots can be easier distracted then you may think. Chances r, in a plane the size of a E195 and approaching at a E195's speeds he most probably wouldn't have seen me but after that PA-28 pilot made that radio call i wanted to move down a bit just to keep my mind at rest
Now I know where to get a reasonable shot! Exeter is so difficult now they've turned the field between the runways into a carpark. :-( Thanks for posting
I filmed it in a field just in front of the threshold of runway 08. To get to it, the is a roudabout just b4 you go up the lane towards the airport, there is a steel gate on its side, climb over that then walk up the hill and you and see anything combing in on runway 08!! Hope those directions help you out

where did you manage to film this from cause i'm trying to find a good spot to film so vids seem as they got rid of the viewing area in the airport.

I've just hook it onto the pocket of my jacket and keep it on fairly loud and the microphone on my camcorder seems to pick it up
