I love this woman so much. as a kid i had a greatest hits tape, yes tape im born in 83 and i played that tape so much. I love singing could i have this dance at karaoke it always gets couples dancing. Anne Murray we all love you.
I wasn't born yet when this song came out, but I do like the movie it first appeared on (1980's Urban Cowboy). The movie also featured songs by Kenny Rogers (Love The World Away), Boz Scaggs (Love (Look What You've Done To Me), Johnny Lee (Lookin' For Love), and Charlie Daniels (The Devil Went Down To Georgia). All five of these songs are still farely popular, even 30 years after the movie was released. I think "Could I Have This Dance?" was a good torch bearer for the movie. Can I get an Amen?
Annne, I love this song,,,,Could I have this Dance...My Husband Played it as an Instur...@ our Wedding Party..34 years we were together...I lost him on July 4th 2004 thank you so much for recording it...Diane Wagner...My Husband was Dale Wagner....God Bless you..
I just love Anne Murray I have been following her since she first came out. She is also a Canadian From Nova Scotia. Thanks for posting this and all the other songs KTF
Nobody sings it like Anne Murray does. She is truly the "Canadian Songbird". Her voice still sounds the same way back some 30 years ago. Her singing LIVE is like listening to a record. What a talent. MABUHAY, ANNE! Oh, love your duet CD too...

She's not normally my scene but this is a great song; I'm into Canadian artists: Guess Who, April Wine, BTO, Burton Cummings, Five Man Electrical Band etc.
I met Anne last fall, and I told her I would be the first one in line in Heaven. Her Reply ? You mean I'll be working there ... LOL The ultimate entertainer, singer, and overall entertainer.
Love the music and thanks for the post but I can't help but laugh at the fact she has her skin pulled so tight her hair moves when she emotes.

She ain't as young as she was when she first recorded this. She's 63 or 64 years old......yes her voice is a bit strained....but she still has it!

there is something so elegant and believe it or not "soulful" about this woman's voice. i don't know it's an ineffable quality.
