People are probably gonna hate me for saying this, but I don't think this movie did the anime any kind of justice. You never hear Koyuki sing, and you never hear any other songs besides Flatliner, Evolution, Looking Back, and Moon Beams... And once you've watched the anime, you have expectations, and it just didn't live up to mine.

while i do agree with you that its frustrating not hearing koyuki sing and not having songs from the show, you do have to realize its the movie. if they kept it the same as the show then whats the point of seeing the movie, right? that said, all the songs that are exclusive to the movie are pretty awesome but they definitely shouldve let koyuki sing.

Where's part 16? This was actually a really good rendition of manga over to live action. It's obvious the reason koyuki doesn't sing is because the actor can't. They obviously chose him because he fits the role perfectly, except he can't sing :P

This is by far the best live action adaptation of an anime I've ever seen. They did a fantastic job choosing what to include and the pacing was commendable considering. All the good stuff was there, so I can't complain about what had to be left out- even Koyuki's voice. He's an actor, not a singer so I can understand. Maybe we can't have it all, but we pretty much got everything else lol. Decent acting, surprisingly good English and plenty kick ass music all the way to the finish. Beck ftw!!!

It's like the HP movie franchise- the movies are okay but the books will always be better. No matter the medium, it's still magical and each does it's best to represent the series in its own way. I respect the industry and their budget so everyone can enjoy the final product w/o downers or distractions. Besides, I try not to complain when I get to see it all online for free. :)

The reason why they muted Koyuki was because the director didn't want to disappoint the fans of the anime, so he said that the audience should use their imagination on how amazing his voice would sound...to be honest, (if you've heard of the real song-which is here in youtube) they should've played it, it was amazing!
