There is no need of more than 3% of the global population working nowadays, with the amount of tecnology we have, to supply the whole world with all the goods needed. Price controls only result in shortages when private companies control food production, are annoyed about reduced profits, and then deliberately hold the country hostage by producing less. Marx had nothing to do with Fascism and the only way Marxism had any influence on Fascism is in Fascism's reaction against worker's rights and trade unions, ideas that Marx championed. There's no incentive to work when in a socialist state. Health care went too far. It only needed to help the people that were ineligible, not be forced onto people who already have it. While he's ranting, I want to say that society as a whole shouldn't steal from those who contribute to it. A rich man usually gets rich by putting in his fair share, and in turn gets what he put in returned. If what one puts in is taken, why would one want to put in that much?

The idea was to use government to force the populations to buy your products and services and make it harder or even illegal for others to compete. The best way to do that is to have big centralized government controlled by one or a few and pull their strings from behind the scenes.

The thing is, our early American progressives, as well as the Fabians, were in love with the early Fascists. Only when they started their aggression toward the Soviets did they distance themselves from the Fascists. If capitalism is a crime against the collective, then socialism is a crime against the productive individual since his assests, wages and everything he makes either with mind or hands is confiscated for a mythical collective. Even Einstein said society is a fabrication of homo sapiens. Most species on this planet live in small herds, not "societies". So, therefore, capitalism and its idea of survival of the fittest is best representative of the natural world.

@louis345 In reality there were plenty of resources and food in those countries, the problem was an inefficient transportation system and not price controls. Price controls only result in shortages when private companies control food production, are annoyed about reduced profits, and then deliberately hold the country hostage by producing less. Hence why Chavez decided to nationalize the holdings of those bastard fat cats in Venezuela.

Because more money is chasing less goods, so by natural law he has to increase the price. When he increases the prices, peoples' living standard drop, and it directly because of Chavez's polices. He uses the business man and blames him. He then threaten's the business man by nationalizing his business if rasies prices.
