Is 'Jai Ho' the best song India ever produced? Is Slum Dog the best movie India ever produced. By giving Oscar t o these , Oscar lost its value. understand slum dog was a good movie , but sincerely (Plz don't add patriotism factor) anybody thinks it deserves Oscar?

@hharish21 well said harish. I love rahman and his music (not now; mostly 90's). The film and music doesnt deserve any awards. Rahman is gem of a person but nowadays his music are not up to the mark. When he was giving excellent compositions there is no this much of craze but now everyone crazy about his music but his music not good.

@vensub, even if ilayaraja didn't get Oscar..he is a great musician than Rehman..Don't laugh at him....rehman also a wonderful person wth multi talented...I like both of em as kings of music....Compare to Ilayaraja sir, Rehman is more aggressive to utilize the modern technology in his compositions tht really wanted in the present generation to get attracted!

The present generation is going weird!. Many Indian composers mimicking ARR goes off-road in their composition towards western, lacking melody as well as the basic Indian musical roots!

Even if you tell them about what they were doing wrong, they won't understand that, which is sad.

Money plays a big part though. I am worried about our traditional classical music. Lets see!
