  • Excellent! Great Ray Campi! Rockabilly forever!

  • Rockinslicker must've never listened to Chuck Berry . Willy Dixon slapped the shit out of that bass . So did Big Crawford who recorded on the Muddy Waters Electric Delta Blues stuff . They didn't call it Rockabilly , but what's in a name?

----------------------- Hmmmmm ? Not my opinion, Rockabilly is more R&R, that has NOTHING to do with Jazz or The Blues. Jazz sucks, and most of the blues is depressing. Is Rockabilly depressing ??? Not that I can see, and this cut from Ray is outstanding.

  • cool bass

  • Rockinslicker must've never listened to Chuck Berry . Willy Dixon slapped the shit out of that bass . So did Big Crawford who recorded on the Muddy Waters Electric Delta Blues stuff . They didn't call it Rockabilly , but what's in a name? It's all American Music, born here . Without Black folks or Hillbillies non of it would have come to pass . Same goes for Ragtime , Skiffle , Jazz ,and Blues .

I see racists comments from both sides here .

  • Now that the Pres elect is Barack, I'll be honoring the Confederate Flag for sure!

Rockabilly will always be in my Soul! Forever!

    Rockabilly Power!

  • yup he also was my sub-teacher at Washington Irving middle school in Los angeles....i think he was a sub for 25 years...

  • this guy was my substitute teacher for 2 days. :D

  • me 2 back in 02'

  • Look at this fool who is content to testify to his own ignorance of cultural heritage.

  • That was in reply to 'nevawrong', by the way - not a comment on Mr. Campi.

  • Cracker is OUR WORD. You have no right to use it. Its only okay when white people say it to each other.

  • @rockabillebastard Amen! My rockabilly, cracker friend!

  • @rockabillebastard

here, here, I second that...We created the word "Nigger" which comes from German "Neger", or "Niggra" from Spanish/Spain/Espana/Hispania word "Negre"...They dictate & threaten to us Honkies/Rebs/Hillbily's/Reneck's,etc, that we cannot use the word "Nigger" to describe the lowest genetic parasitic worthless criminal elements of shit within blacks---yet now Negroids use it 24/7... Well, I say they cannot use "Cracker" or "Peckerwood" or "Honkey"---that is our term also, for us

  • @rockabillebastard

I think if non-whites use ethnocentric terms, either offensively or not, we should do like they do & call them "Racist" or "Bigots" or "Intolerant" or "Hatemongers", etc, then we Crackerjacks come together & burn down the city & rape, loot, murder, etc, because of the ongoing historical oppression & reverse-discrimination, etc...

I am a proud Honky, Cracker, Hillbilly, Peckerwood, Reb, etc, and love masturbating with pocket-pussy to this music dreaming of Southern bombshells

  • Rockabilly???? You make a joke,I don't never heard something about black Rockbilly musicians,sorry...........

  • colbert hamington...

made some cool neo-rockabilly in the early 90s.

  • @rockinslicker666

ummm... really? Not to bust your chops catdaddy, but what about Chuck Berry or Willie Dixon? There were even more like say Solomon Burke that had country music hits.

  • Awesome. Mr. Campi was my sub today. Heehee.

  • YA THATS RIGHT

  • Ray is a true mad-man, the total real deal! With the totally badass Leroi Bros. as backup, it just don't git no better, hoss! that's Don Leady on lead telecaster-master.. Mike Buck on drums etc etc...

  • And lets not foget Steve Doerr of the Leroi Brothers. The Leroi Brothers mastered this sound! Twin guitar attack! If you don't believe me download or buy "Check This Action". Possibly the greatest rockabilly album ever recorded!

  • Wow!

    My feet love the music!

  • yay! mr.campi is my substitute at washington irving middle school. he's a very nice man.

  • Ray Campi was my English teacher at Mulholland Jr. High in 1970.

A Great English teacher and was playing in the evenings at the Palomino Club in North Hollywood.

    Rock on Ray !!!!!

  • this is a real rockabilly song, but its bad that this version cant be find to download on the internet. Only a slower version -.- :/

  • I have this on VHS ,, this song is great!

  • Ray started out in the 50's with a minor hit song called Catepillar. He didn't change his stripes as music tastes changed. He is a true original who has kept rockabilly vital. He can play guitar, slide guitar and fiddle as well. Ray is a true American classic

  • OMG!!! Mr.Campi substituted my class in Washington Irving Middle School! Mr.Campi is a really good teacher. He maybe kinda old, but he still has some youth left in him. Rock on Mr.Campi

  • great video, thanks a lot.

  • MORE RAY CAMPI ! That man is GREAT ! You may keep all the other so called Rockabillystars , this one, is the right one! PLEASE more of this great artist on you tube.

  • I agree with you!

  • Mr. Campi Shit!..My subtitude teacher back in Middle and High Skool!...

  • what's up with the confederate logo on the bass? doesn't this loser know that rock and roll was created by blacks. he wouldn't be a "rockabilly man"

without chuck berry, little richard, robert johnson, howlin wolf, and black culture. check the roots of the majority american music and you'll see the stamp of black culture all over it. and NO, I'm not black.

  • '00GeorgeBUSH', you really are a hapless fuckwit. Buy yourself some wax crayons and a colouring-in book. When you've mastered the art of keeping your shandy-fisted scrawl inside the clear black outlines, you may venture on to books containing singular, monosyllabic sentences on each brightly illustrated page exploring themes such as 'bunny rabbits hopping' and 'children throwing a ball'.

In some far off utopian future, you might yet attain the capacity for erudition-before-comment.

  • You are obviously entirely clueless about the entire subject.

You lump Rockabilly, Blues, Rock 'n Roll anything with a beat really into one genre. Then through ignorance lump the Confederate Battle Standard used by many bands old and new as racist. It merely identifies roots and Rockabilly evolved in the deep South. After decades following Rockabilly bands I have never seen the flag used for racist intent or indeed met a performer or fan who did not admire the great Black artists.

  • For your info Ray Campi was there right at the begining of it all just check his discography. A original artist not a follower. He influenced muscicians then and now.

  • who cares about your babble the music is original and good

  • if you want to see ray live, he is playing at this years americana in july 07 (newark uk)

  • anyone have this song on mp3? or know where i can buy it

  • Wouldn't know about such devilment as 'mp3', old chum, but you shouldn't have too much trouble locating it on CD. Google 'rockabilly', and a refined search ought to yield appropriate music dealers in your vicinity. The studio recording (circa 1980) has featured on albums titled 'Hollywood Cats' and 'Rockabilly Man' - quite possibly others besides.

  • ty its great!

  • Mr Campi?!..That's my substitute teacher..

  • MINE TOO I HAD HIM< 2DAY!!

  • Let's Rock Mr. Campy!

I hope to se and hear more of him.

  • Dude, thanks for the Ray Campi vid. The man's my absolute demi-idol. %") Erm, don't s'pose you've got any Jimmie Lee Maslon, have you... %")

  • I dont like his bass. Down with confederates! Union won, so quit your btching.

His music is good though haha.

  • It isn't used as a racist symbol. It just acknowledges the man's and the music's roots, which happens to be in the south. People who have been influenced by the 50's style all give due credit to the african-american contributions as well as the caucasian. both black and white contributed greatly to rock and roll.

  • @Paularichards05

I agree with you and that's why I'd use it!

  • wrong title ,the song is called rockabilly man

  • that scarf makes him look like a "rockabilly woman" HA!

  • The Show Must Go On! Let's Rock Mr. Campy! Thanks D.D.
