@skyphor You respect like 0.1% of drummers then. Most people who know Sean Reinert don't drum because when they hear him play they know they'd never get that good so they quit, haha. :)
Dude, that's Chuck Norris in disguise. He dyed his hair. He's waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. Everyone at this concert went missing. No remains were ever found.
ok, kringel is awesome, but sean malone will always be my favorite. listening to portal, unless you knew better, you would thing that was sean on that project as well, but it was kringel. they are equal in talent, but sean malone is just crazy. i wish he hadn't chunked duece to the metal scene.
Try to play this music and have any movement what so ever. Not to mention, this is a REUNION show. Meaning their first show in a long time. They have to pay attention to what they're playing before they decide to go crazy on stage.
your right and wrong. he uses a vocoder but with an autotune function. the vocoder he used years ago sounded very robotic, whereas this one seems to shift his voice to sound an octave higher. check out 5:32, you will notice that it's not just autotune in process.
@randee99 Yes man, kringel is good.. But there is no comparaison between his playing, and the playing of Sean Malone.. malone is a genius, and don't forget that it's the guy who write the bass lines... and nobody here says his nameee!!! shame on youuuuuuu
@spipiaoudjajikoh It's true that Sean is incredible, but Chris is as fantastic as Sean. Just listen Portal or any of his bunch of recordings. I'm a huge Malone fan, Focus, GK, Cortlandt and Aghora's S/T are incredible but Kringel really rules as bassist too.
nevermind I just watched the video, I was thinking of his vocals on the albums when i posted the comment. He is using some kind of pitch correction here.
His auto-tune isn't hitting it to well on this song. Ive been I fan of these guys for several years though. I like the new Gear setup for the vocals though. Its way more dramatic then the original vocoder.
You idiots it's not auto tune, it's vocoder. Popularized by 70's rockers. Btw listen to Aeon Spoke, he doesn't need vocoder, it just fills in the frequencies that multiple singers could bring to a song without the hassles.
Ahh. So that's what happened to Cher's voice synth machine.. She gave it to these guys ;) Nice work from the band, the voice synth kinda ruins it though
They are signed to seasons of mist, and cynic is the owners favorite band. So I imagine he will push them hard. The thing that is needed is for everyone who enjoys cynic needs to go out and actually buy the record, which will help out the band and the label. So downloaded it if you will but we should all buy the cd as well.
i was on the roadrunner site a while ago i thought i saw their name on there. But i will take you word for it. If i could buy the album i would but there are no record stores near me that will sell this album. Plus, i live in canada and they aren't popular here.
they were on roadrunner before the break-up, an roadrunner re-mastered Focus in 2004, but I believe they have changed to seasons of mist and something like soundworks in the UK.
Yeah right, good luck with that. These guys have actual "Talent". This "Talent" is no longer needed in the musical world.... Oh hey! American Idol is on! Lucky me...
Lately he's gained a little amount of reputation by participating in some side-projects such as Aghora (I've obtained it for his sake,he's real productive there too,and the band is not bad also.Listenable.) and he had made people hear his name much by playing with the all-time master metal band Death. But in general, yes he's an underrated drummer of great capability.I like his style of execution.
He was great in Aghora man and in Death he was flawless. He's just so clean and precise around the kit as well. Hopefully after Traced in Air officially comes out he'll get the credit he fully deserves.
aghora's first album would be good if it had been mastered by someone who knew what it was doing. the chick's voice is so freaking loud, it gets annoying. i remember listening to their demo version of Immortal Bliss and thought it was real awesome. i was disapointed when i got the CD...big time. anyway, you were talking about Reinert so i guess i'm off topice :-P
I think Reinert's best drumming has been in Gordian Knot. It's there where he has fully combined metal and jazz-fusion into something extraordinary. It's just amazing work he did with them.
Yeah. That's freaking amazing. Well, Paul Masdival is a great guitarist. look at "Evolutionary Sleeper" on what he plays and he sings in the same time. it's freaking sick.
