It's no vocoder, it's an autotune.

your right and wrong. he uses a vocoder but with an autotune function. the vocoder he used years ago sounded very robotic, whereas this one seems to shift his voice to sound an octave higher. check out 5:32, you will notice that it's not just autotune in process.

The thing that is needed is for everyone who enjoys cynic needs to go out and actually buy the record, which will help out the band and the label. So downloaded it if you will but we should all buy the cd as well.

they were on roadrunner before the break-up, an roadrunner re-mastered Focus in 2004, but I believe they have changed to seasons of mist and something like soundworks in the UK.

Lately he's gained a little amount of reputation by participating in some side-projects such as Aghora (I've obtained it for his sake,he's real productive there too,and the band is not bad also.Listenable.) and he had made people hear his name much by playing with the all-time master metal band Death.But in general,yes he's an underrated drummer of great capability.I like his style of execution.

I think Reinert's best drumming has been in Gordian Knot. It's there where he has fully combined metal and jazz-fusion into something extraordinary. It's just amazing work he did with them.

The growls are all sampled. When they recorded "Focus" back in the day Roadrunner brought in another vocalist to do the growls because they were concerned that Paul would ruin his voice. But for "Traced In Air" their new guitarist Tymon is doing all the growls so you can expect live growling in the future.

I heard that a lot of their equipment got delayed on the flight over, so Paul had to borrow stuff and use a new rig for the vocals. If not, its probably sequenced by midi and midi can sometimes be very unreliable especially with something like that.
