lol um.... They probably all have the same ancestor but its not the current Asian elephant they descend of. They probably descend from the same ancestors than the Asian elephant. I also believe humans don't descend from modern apes. I think we both evolved at the same time and so we must look into the apes evolution and ours before finding a common ancestor. :3 but theories theories.

@KateFan Mammoths didn't evolve from either African or Asian elephants. If anything African and Asian elephants evolved from Mammoths. And possibly arguing that the Asian elephant is older than the African elephant because they did keep some hairs (especially seen on young Asian elephants) that you stated in your comment. Also the shorter ears of the Asian elephant could have been another example of Asian elephants coming before African elephants.

Catholics do not take the Genesis literally. They call it the creation myth. The teach that these stories are metaphors for life lessons. it is the minority, who are the fanatics that give religion a bad name. But it's a very strong theory that should never be disregarded as "just a(nother) theory".
If people understood how much work is put into making a theory, and how a theory starts out as a thesis, they wouldn't be so quick to denounce the strong evidence or indicia that is the theory.

@canuckman87 It's a theory in the scientific way, a fact is an observation, you gather facts form a hypothesis, you then test the hypothesis and if successful you create a coherent theory. So Evolution is a theory in the same way that gravity is a theory and also the heliocentric theory that the earth orbits the sun all of them so solid that the layman can call them a fact. I can see this irritates you as much as it does me.

I don't believe something exists without undeniable & complete evidence. There's no hard evidence the Egyptian (not egipt) empire started 4,400 years ago/ before. Modern historians rely principally on certain documents in the form of Egyptian king lists/annals (connected to some Egyptian religious records; the moral integrity of the Egyptian scribes are by no means above suspicion) this is acknowledged by historians & Egyptologist alike; uncertainties are multiple. Not forgetting the probability records show concurrent reigns rather than successive reigns.
