    -.- lovely

  • lol we here in nyc have the bad hobby of not pronouncing the r. noticed that a few days ago, but oh well. cant teach a old dog a new trick, right?

  • hey its alright, man...were a hard accent to do...even professional actors when the movies are set in boston, you can her multiple flaws in the accents and the r's....pronounce less r's an try to loosen up a little..the best movie in my opinion to practice off of is the departed..set in boston...they did a fairly good job in that...even when we try to get rid of our accents..its still fairly prominent..alright..merry christmas man!

from - us here in boston

  • the fuck

  • and we don't sound like we have thumbs up our ass all the time lmao, want boston accent, have a look at my video, and we say Baston not Booston. lmfao.

  • lmao oh God, my accent isn't that strong!!

  • Idaho? Udaho! lmao jk Nice.

  • Oh yeah! and a special shout out to a long lost Army Buddy, Michael Connell from Methuen, Mass. 4/15 inf. Regiment, (Mortar Platoon) Ft. Knox, KY. (1987) "Can Do!"

  • slight, specific modifications in accent and speaking mannerisms, transition from NY. to Boston or N.J etc, etc.. as far as the "British" thing, that was a generalization refering back to the early colonial days before America was actually a country. The referance being to the British settlers. Some Dutch and German, but by far mostly British. My British/Irish ancestors were a part of that history settling originally in N.Y / N.J. and I'm proud of that! Anyway, no offense intended.. My apologies.

  • Hey Michelle, take it easy, ok? I wasn't trying to offend you or anybody from the Boston, N.Y. or N.J. areas. I'm born and raised in California, however, during my 14 yr. military stint, it became my "wierd little hobby" to guess where in the country some of my "battle buddies" were from by their accents. A few of them were from precisely those areas. The most notable being from Brooklyn, NY. To my ear,(emphesis)a person speaking with an NYC accent or practicing the accent, could, with certain..

  • Good try! No worries about not being able to do it, most Americans can even do it - it's a tough one. As many have said in comments - watch The Departed or Good Will Hunting (Matt Damon/Ben Affleck are from Boston, their accents are the real deal). Kennedy isn't a good guideline, the Kennedys seem to have their own accident, one not used by anyone else I've ever heard.

  • I knew this was going to made of wrong as soon as I saw it. Funny though. Most Americans couldn't do a Boston accent to save their life (see every movie ever with Boston accents done by people from outside New England) so how could you be expected to. Not to mention that by trying to channel Kennedy you're already doomed to failure as I've never heard anyone outside the Kennedys talk like that.

  • No worries! no need to apoligize, we were British too before we were American.

  • I've never been British.

  • Yes you can!! Boston, New Jersey and New York accent are almost the same, the exception, like you said, in Boston, you don't Park the car at Harvard Yard, "You Paak the Caar at Haarvid Yaard". And in new jersey not(new Joisey) everyone's a "tthoosh Baig" (douche bag). for a great example of a genuine Boston Accent, on you tube type in : "The Guy from Boston."

  • "You Paak the Caar at Haarvid Yaard"

No, it's pahk the cah in Hahvahd Yahd. Bostonians don't pronounce the letter R. There is a very distinct difference between the New York, Boston and New Jersey accident. An example is, New York accent would be to say New Yowk, but in Boston it is said New Yahk. Where do you live?

  • sorry, boston and ny/nj are very different...in boston you drop r's...in new york i get the sense that people drop r's kinda freely and have more r's when they speak slowly/carefully. also like michelle5451 is right about the vowels. listen to how ny says 'caught' like co-wuht and 'cot' like caht but boston is (rather inconsistently, actually) like cawt for both...

  • yea u gottsta go see the departed its so good.

  • Watch the Departed and then try it again. I love your scottish accent though.

  • lol dude your attempt is horrible im from boston

    but keep tryin!

  • uhh westie.... no body calls it that pal..and charlestown has changed-they all moved to Wilmington sold their houses for big bucks....marky mark is hollywood and his boston accent is butchered--this guys attempt is awful..marky mark makes a good go of it in the perfect storm though but Diane Lane cannot do the accent-it just can't be faked

  • hey i saw one of your videos and you seem to like family guy so just watch it and try to talk like peter. he has a boston accent. and lois has a good brooklyn accent.

  • shut the hell up, never come to boston

  • I have a Boston accent and I love to travel and talk with it because people get so confused, lol its fun.

  • LMAO Duncan. I live in Lynn Massachusetts, and I too, proudly, have a Boston accent. There is a difference between Mass accent and Boston. Some people in Mass dont have it, but the heavy accent is derived from Boston. I speak with it. All it is, is you silence the R in some cases, and you pronounce the O as an A, but not AY, but like AH. So oh my God, would be, oh my Gad. and, You are retahded. Just watch family guy a lot, for some reason Peter has a boston accet in Rhode Island lol try it again

  • LMAO funny video. I went to Boston once. I can't stand their accent. It drives me NUTZ every time I hear it. I think the letter "R" has ceased to exist in that city. Beautiful city though.

  • i'm from boston, shit example of the accent.

  • none of yous know shit about boston accents kid, watch marky mark in the departed maybe, other than that go hit a local bar somewhere in southie, westie, rozzi, hyde park, dorchester, charlestown

  • LOL! A valiant attempt! The Boston accent is hard if you don't live here, so it's easy to see why you can't do it. It was funny to watch, though. XD

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAH id really like to see a good bostona ccent watch "THe Departed" and youll get a good idea of it

  • haha, that is wicked funny. it's true boston accent is hard if ya don't live here

  • in this video when he shavin his facial expressions dont move lol

  • fah-qin hillarious guy

don't feel bad that was a while ago

come to Boston and me and the fellah'sl' take ya out buy you a Guinness take you to a Sox game!

  • I loved this....kind of because it's funny how you tried to do it..I've lived in Boston so I know how to do it, but it can be a hard one. I also love that you apologized for the Boston Tea Party.

  • I think it's odd that you are British and can't do a Boston accent. I'm from Boston, and the accent is so obviously derived from British/Irish dialects.

My father, who is from Cambridge (that's part of Boston), actually says "bottle" with glottal stop like the Cockney accent. Imagine that? Weahd.

  • nah caprisia cambridge is actually not part of boston. its just over the bridge and not considered a part of the city.

  • Boston cut off parcels of land most cities would've kept. We have a term, "Greater Boston," covering this area of 3 million. Boston has only 600,000 people, mostly concentrated in a 10 sq.mi.out of 40sm total. Density! MSA/1 hour car radius is 7 mill. (Almanac 2007). Other cities boast pop., but they have nothing (Houston, e.g.) and the #'s are spread in to areas unrelated to the "city." "Boston" as a "concept" includes Cambridge, as one without the other would neither Boston nor Cambridge make!

  • Why did you even post this? It wasn't even close.

  • Focus on your nasal timber when attempting this accent. Soften the R, but DO NOT omit it altogether.

  • Absolutely. You have to soften the R not leave it out like it's not even there. It's very subtle

  • hahaha

  • whaha realy, i realy like your intro of this movie(the shaving part)

but lol this video made me laugh like hell haha hillarous especialy 2:15 when you are trying to pronounce that phrase

your other videos are good to!!! you have a talent for accents keep up the good funny work1!!!

  • It's not "pak tha ca" it's "pahk the cah" Also, all the stereotypes that we still care about the Tea Party, come on, man! I think that people who aren't from the Boston area need to fucking get over it! Leave us alone!EVERYWHERE in the world has it's own dialect, and Boston is no different. Why do we get singled out?

  • "goooooooo red sahhhhhhhx. jeeeetah is a faaaaag. steinbrennah's retahhhded. where ah mah kahkeez?"

this video gave me the chuckles.

  • I'm Irish and from Boston, this is a disgrace to ahhh great accent

  • hey if from the north end and that was a good acent.....go sox.......ya ya ya sox and yes......my parents are from italy so YA

  • well, im from south boston, and well lol, when u say "mari[strong I]e! paaaack thaa caahh"! thats how u should say it, its irish mixed with some quenciquencal midwest, strong high A's and some of "aaahhs". if ur east/south u tend to have more of a higher voice then anywhere else in boston formal. :) hope this helps and btw, lol nice try, but u dont have to sound like an old lady lol

  • Shush little Yank. x

  • horrible...why make a video of this. Delete it.

  • hey gremlin go suck a cock

  • what a nasty person you are.

  • I know, I get these hotmails saying someone's replied to my comment and I don't remember even posting it and I read it back and cringe, I can't help it though.

I'm just an angry little man with many, many prejudices.

  • can i buy some drugs from you?

  • lol, failed attempt. I loved your other vids, but seeing as i am from Massachusetts, for making this video you would in fact be linched. lmao. Keep making funny vids,

    ~Kyle.

  • i always liked bob cousy's "thankyou cwiss"

  • lol you seem like a funny guy :)

  • For a Boston Lincolnshire Accent check my video!

    I'm from Boston Lincolnshire myself!!

  • now the trumpet summons us again..no thats fucking awful. hehe :P

  • No offense, but his Boston accent sucks.

  • you know he's from the UK when he uses the word recon! lol

  • i died laughing when you gave up on your kennedy impression. lol Watch Good Will Hunting, watch The Departed. You'll get the idea.

  • its just a boston accent... no a massachusetts one.

but its not stressed like you do it.. close but no cigah

is not paaack the caaair.. its pahk the car.. similar to how the english dont fully pronounce their r's.. you dont stress them like other americans. just a barely there

  • some English accents do, like in the West Country

  • Bollocks... thought I was gonna hear a Boston Lincolnshire accent!

  • me too!

  • there is a difference between a boston and a massachusetts accent. in western mass people dont really talk like we do in boston.

  • lol 1:50 hahahahaha

  • the rrrrsss aren't eeehhh it's not peehk the ceeeh, its an ahhh kinda thing, it's pahk the cah,

    haha yea boston!!

  • Get da fuckatta hea da NuYowk accent is way bera den da Bowstown accent

  • People like this make me wish I had a microphone. :( Good try, but your taking too much r out.

  • this guy looks like Tony Soprano's little brother

  • It's not EH, it's AH!

And it's sooo adorable how the Bostonians speak!

  • why thank you...

  • the key to it is don't pronounce the r's

  • its not and ehhh its more like an ahhh. 'cah' almost o-like

  • Where's it come from???? Ask yourself! We don't pronounces ah Ah's round hyah because it stuck from back when people had English accents... theah's a reason they call it New ENGLAND...we inherited your non-rhotic-ness :)

    I love your videos!

  • dont pronounce ur r's...istead of car say..cah..park the car in hravard yard...boston-->pak the cah in hah-vad yahd

  • lmao.... that was funny but wow... im from north carolina and now i live here... and i have a boston accent now.. you just pick it up ;p its funny though.

    From Eastie

    -Kristi

  • haha, im from Boston as well. And that was wicked funny! it was a good try though.. our accent is hard. =]<3

  • HAHAHHAHAA! You're great! Not the accent but the attempt. ::thumbs up:: LOL

  • lol i'm from Boston, that was aweful, kudos for trying though.

  • you are adorable. i request you to try it again with an "ahhh" instead of an "eahhhh" to it. too much "ee"

  • LOL if u came 2 Boston i'd b like whats wrong with that guy LOL LOL funny

  • i actually am from boston, and its not a town, its a city but i was laughing out loud at your attempts haha good try

  • hahahaha no not even close man. I'm from Boston, it's a hard accent to immitate if you don't actually have one naturally.

  • it's more "ahh" for the letter r and not "eh" so it would be "i pahk my cah at hahvahd yahd"

  • ROFL

  • Let's live in Bastan..

  • HAHA! I didn't think you would actually do it. But you gave it a good try. I myself can't do it either.
