All those years and dumboskey Grover can't even remember the name of his street! Wow!
Even if he's eternally supposed to be 5 or 6 years old, that's kinda sad, Groves!
I kind of hate how Elmo has almost completely supplanted Grover! Grover was the original "clueless little monster", long before that little red idiot!
GROVER was a true original and I feel he did get replaced by ELMO. Sorry, but Grover has more charismatic charisma than Elmo. Not saying Elmo is boring, but Elmo is a talent...not on Grover's level. Grover needs to be promoted better. How many times can you produce a skit of messups at the restaurant (FAT BLUE) and not make you laugh out loud? How many crash landings can you survive and still be in good spirits? How many Grovers are there? Only 1 and he's special.
I SO remember this sketch! I remember getting up bright and early the next morning to watch Sesame Street to see if Grover made it home okay. I was very worried for him.
I also remembered when Vi is asking him where he lives, she shows him the cardboard and says, I think "Ski Street", and Grover starts crying and says "No, I do not live there..." I felt bad. Of Course I was 3 when it was on, in 1972, and that's the only time I remember seeing that one.
I thought I was the only one who remembered this sketch. There was another one where Skip Hinnant is in sweatsuit and jogging around Sesame Street, but nobody else is there.
I really think that Sue Ellen and Arthur would make a good couple and that Fern and George would make a good couple as well too. Who do you think would make a good couple in the Arthur show?
How did you got this info? What couples do you like in Arthur? I like Sue Ellen and Arthur I really think they go together. Do you think that Fern have a chance with Arthur? If you ask me I do not think so. Do you like Barry Trotter?
Nope. That's one Ms. Joan Ganz Cooney, the original founder of the Children's Television Workshop. (Sesame Street, Electric Company, 3-2-1 Contact, Square One TV, etc.)
It was a cameop appearance. A couple of other Sesame Street characters appeared on EC. Oscar The Grouch was crooned by Crank and Big Bird met Fargo North.
Uh, no. Vi (who is actually the owner of Vi's Diner, not the waitress) is Lee Chamberlain from seasons 1 & 2. You're thinking of Hattie Winston, who replaced Chamberlain in Season 3 & from there on in - SHE was on Becker
S'alright - Chamberlain was in the movies 'Uptown Saturday Night' & 'Let's Do It Again" w/Sidney Potier & Bill Cosby - she also played the family shrink on 'Diff'rent Strokes'
Yeah he was on there off and on for the entire time that Electric Company ran. Can anyone tell me why EC was pulled from the air? My husband and I grew up with EC everyday.
I loved the banter between Vi and Crank because it seemed real like they were old friends. Yeah, it's amazing to see Crank actually be sympathetic to Grover and joining Vi in trying to help the distraught Muppet find his way back. IIRC, there was a part where Vi offered to let Grover live the rest of his life in her Diner but I guess that got cut out. Anyway, thanks for sharing this!
Not really unusual, See918. When I watched TEC as a tyke, I realized he could be cordial if you didn't annoy him. It's just that a LOT of stuff annoyed him most of the time. Very nice bit. Thanks, FebWriter! :-D
What is she saying on :45...Crank you so full of ?

How the heck did Vi figure out so quickly that Grover lived on Sesame Street?
See918 5 years ago
They had to wind the sketch up somehow! Anyway, we, the audience, already knew the answer, so I'm sure that alleveated any frustration
Maskedmutant 4 years ago
I know this comment is really old, but... she figured it out when he said there was a "big bird" on his street. Apparently she knows of Big Bird.
