  • What is she saying on :45...Crank you so full of ?

  • sometimes I feel just like Grover

  • And the sign behind Vi with the words...Finger lickin' chicken and ribs. You think that ended up becoming a stereotype?

  • I believe Big Bird crossed over at least once too.

  • "What do you mean where do I live? I just said I was lost! IF I KNEW WHERE I LIVED I'D BE THERE!!!"

    Epic.

  • I remember this episode. Grover was my favorite character :0)

  • ahhh a little bit of a reminder from your childhood

  • I LOVED Grover! Especially when he was Super Grover!! He is so much better than Elmo will ever be!

  • @Sunnshyneone Elmo is annoying. I hate how "Mr Hooked on Phonics" talks

  • Ah yess Grover.. what wonderfull memories.

  • Lmao crank reminds me of a human version of peter griffin

  • I wonder if Grover ever remembers doing this sketch.

  • @Angie2343 I'm sure he remembers.

  • @puppyshoes Really?

  • I remember this from Episode #304! -- but I only saw it once (December 20, 1973).

  • Is the that Lee Chamberlin or Hattie Winston? They looklike twins

  • @coolsweetgroovy That's Chamberlin here.

  • @RetroVideoFan Ok thanks I was wondering because Lee and Hattie look so much like twin sisters

  • All those years and dumboskey Grover can't even remember the name of his street! Wow!

Even if he's eternally supposed to be 5 or 6 years old, that's kinda sad, Groves!

I kind of hate how Elmo has almost completely supplanted Grover! Grover was the original "clueless little monster", long before that little red idiot!

  • GROVER was a true original and I feel he did get replaced by ELMO. Sorry, but Grover has more charismatic charisma than Elmo. Not saying Elmo is boring, but Elmo is a talent...not on Grover's level. Grover needs to be promoted better. How many times can you produce a skit of messups at the restaurant (FAT BLUE) and not make you laugh out loud? How many crash landings can you survive and still be in good spirits? How many Grovers are there? Only 1 and he's special.

  • WE LOVE GROVER!!!! This is such a classic:)

  • Grover needs a GPS System if he ever gets lost again.

  • Yeah he does - remember before GPS we all used to carry around big cardboard maps?

  • For Real. lol

  • And Skin Street? Sounds like a shady part of town to be lost in.

  • Yeah. I took a trip down skin street....sock puppet prostitutes galore.

  • Laura Bush was lost in the Electric Company! How terrible.

  • I SO remember this sketch! I remember getting up bright and early the next morning to watch Sesame Street to see if Grover made it home okay. I was very worried for him.

  • What is Laura Bush doing at 2:05?

  • There you have it The REAL voice of grover! Mr. Frank Oz.

  • lolol "hello pretty lady, hello there big fella!" lol

  • I guess it's no big deal to Vi to have some horrible creature come into her restaurant. She didn't seem too bothered by Grover either.

  • I'd like to see a menu. HA!

  • Did you see the prices listed? Those were the days!

  • @CircleVersusSquare I imagine it was kind of a treat for Grover to be in a dining establishment as a *customer*, for once.

  • I want to live on Skin Street with Vi.

    What a hottie.

  • she was smoking wearing that fro'

  • I'm surprised that one of them didn't then say "could you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?"

    ~Ra'akone

  • I also remembered when Vi is asking him where he lives, she shows him the cardboard and says, I think "Ski Street", and Grover starts crying and says "No, I do not live there..." I felt bad. Of Course I was 3 when it was on, in 1972, and that's the only time I remember seeing that one.

  • Hi guys,

I thought I was the only one who remembered this sketch. There was another one where Skip Hinnant is in sweatsuit and jogging around Sesame Street, but nobody else is there.

  • I like the little touch when Vi dries Grover's crying eyes with a tissue. :D

  • do you live there?

what on a piece of cardboard?

  • 1. Lost? Accept Christ as your saviour!

    2. I wish I lived on Skin Street!!!

    3. Grover - Buena onda!

  • "Hey there big fella'!" *WHACK!*

  • lost grover seems to be, mmm?

  • I really think that Sue Ellen and Arthur would make a good couple and that Fern and George would make a good couple as well too. Who do you think would make a good couple in the Arthur show?

  • Y'all jive-turkeys need to quit trippin'. Sucka.

  • How did you got this info? What couples do you like in Arthur? I like Sue Ellen and Arthur I really think they go together. Do you think that Fern have a chance with Arthur? If you ask me I do not think so. Do you like Barry Trotter?

  • Iz that Hilary at 2:05?

  • Nope. That's one Ms. Joan Ganz Cooney, the original founder of the Children's Television Workshop. (Sesame Street, Electric Company, 3-2-1 Contact, Square One TV, etc.)

  • Yeah, for the most part he did mean well.

  • Wow I don't remember this one. I used to see the repeat episodes all the time on PBS when I was a kid but I don't remember Grover being on the show.

  • Somehow I don't either.

  • SKIN STREET?!? WTF!?!

Oh yeah, this was before thet cleaned up midtown!

  • YAY! GROVER! I like Grover! lol :D

  • I never knew Grover was on The Electric Company! I do remember seeing Bert, Ernie and Big Bird on an episode of Between The Lions though! ;)

  • It was a cameop appearance. A couple of other Sesame Street characters appeared on EC. Oscar The Grouch was crooned by Crank and Big Bird met Fargo North.

  • this is what two kids tv shows collide, interesting.

    cheers febwriter for the video.

  • i just found out the waitress here was on becker!

  • Uh, no. Vi (who is actually the owner of Vi's Diner, not the waitress) is Lee Chamberlain from seasons 1 & 2. You're thinking of Hattie Winston, who replaced Chamberlain in Season 3 & from there on in - SHE was on Becker

  • ok im sorry i guess i got confused

  • S'alright - Chamberlain was in the movies 'Uptown Saturday Night' & 'Let's Do It Again" w/Sidney Potier & Bill Cosby - she also played the family shrink on 'Diff'rent Strokes'

  • Dammit, I thought they were finally about to tell me how to GET to Sesame Street! Close, but no cigar :)

  • yeah he does sound like him! :)

  • i'm 36 yrs old, and i've never seen this episode,i thought i'd seen them all, wow!!

  • i don't remember seeing a sesame street grover on electric company

  • Yeah he was on there off and on for the entire time that Electric Company ran. Can anyone tell me why EC was pulled from the air? My husband and I grew up with EC everyday.

  • How the heck did Vi figure out so quickly that Grover lived on Sesame Street?

  • They had to wind the sketch up somehow! Anyway, we, the audience, already knew the answer, so I'm sure that alleveated any frustration

  • I know this comment is really old, but... she figured it out when he said there was a "big bird" on his street. Apparently she knows of Big Bird.

  • Vi? I always thought her name was 6.

  • ...the shooting sketch?!

  • what year did this come out? I grew up watching Electric Company and i don't remember Grover on the Electric Company. :(

  • 1972

  • haha i love when Grover slapped Crank. :D

  • It's the same way he would always slap Kermit on the back after he says "Heeeeeeeyyyyyy, Froggie baby!"

  • I loved the banter between Vi and Crank because it seemed real like they were old friends. Yeah, it's amazing to see Crank actually be sympathetic to Grover and joining Vi in trying to help the distraught Muppet find his way back. IIRC, there was a part where Vi offered to let Grover live the rest of his life in her Diner but I guess that got cut out. Anyway, thanks for sharing this!

  • Crank in one of his sympathetic moods and poor Grover just about having an emotional breakdown.

  • Crank sympathetic. How unusual.

  • Not really unusual, See918. When I watched TEC as a tyke, I realized he could be cordial if you didn't annoy him. It's just that a LOT of stuff annoyed him most of the time. Very nice bit. Thanks, FebWriter! :-D

  • Thank you for te clip. It's a good one. Does anyone have the one where Big Bird meets Fargo North.

  • That is pretty cool!
