  • Wigmore Hall's been strong at 9f and 10f his entire career. But the G1 Northern Dancer was oddly enough his first, and to date still his only career start running 12f. Winning the Northern Dancer proved 2 things for Wigmore Hall. Not only can he get the 12f trip, but he can win at G1 level over the 12f trip. That open's up some options for him when he goes back to Dubai in 2012. He could run in the G1 Duty Free again at 9f? Or this time, he could attempt a go at the G1 Sheema Classic at 12f?

  • What a fantastic finish. Breath-taking to watch horses turn it on like that in the stretch. Fans really suffer at Hastings Park, where the 5 furlong oval means there is a very, very short stretch. . . to short for much to happen, usually. But the top 3 finishers in this race really showed their quality, regardless of the overall quality of the field (not that Bourbon Bay is a slouch).

  • Great ride from Spencer, delighted for the horse, followed him ever since he won a handicap first time out as a 3 year old.

Personally I still dont think that confirmed he stayed, I could have pushed a shopping trolly round alongside em for a fair way round!
