No! The EU is a franco/German invention going back to the 1920's (I think. I would need to check the date) Blair, had he been elected president, would have become the ruler of the whole of Europe including the UK. Had the Irish, voted no then the treaty would have failed and this state of affairs would never have happened.

The Parliament will be on eye level with the council on legal proposals, and has the pover to veto and ammend, as the council on most issues. Exemptions are mostly in the field of foreign and security policies, simply because that field is still very weakly integrated into the supranational structures and still too much basing on intergovernmentalism (what EU sceptics are such great fans of).
The Lisbon treaty does not really change the state credits issues. Its also not true that the states can't support companies in times of crises. After all, they currently do.

Of course the Lisbon Treaty doesn't mention fascism. But if fascism fundamentally is the concept of a totalitarian regime, then the Lisbon Treaty does have elements of that.
It basically forms a European constitution, driven by an UNELECTED Commission. (Seriously just look it up/ attempt to read it). It is the opposite of democracy because instead of giving power to the people, it takes power away. Another point: Europeans CAN'T decide their future. Only Ireland was given a referendum.

Where does Helga get the idea that "there was no debate in the media". Perhaps she never tuned into Vincent Brown's programme on TV3. Almost every second night for a bout a month, the media (including Brown himself who voted 'No') expressed their views about the Lisbon Treaty in a fortright manner.

In future ALL of our rights will be defined and decided upon by the European (EU) Court in Strasbourg. It's no more "European" than the EU "parliament" as it doesn't represent all European countries.
If the "European" Court of Justice is independant of the EU (it is appointed & paid by the Council Of Europe )...why then have they never ruled AGAINST ONCE the un-elected commission in an important ruling (in 50 years) ?

I, like most dutch people (which still have a brain) voted against the treaty. So it should not have past, because every country should say yes.
Balkenende (the worst prime minister, also the one that approved the attack on Iraq, the lapdog of Bush) did not like this. So he did not ask it again to the Dutch people.

Even though I do not like our current president Mr. Vaclav Klaus I have to point out - he is the only EU leader who stays against the Lisbon treaty and what is really bad - he stands against all the EU countries - even against leaders of Ireland who said the great NO for this enslaving treaty. The Parliament will be on eye level with the council on legal proposals, and has the pover to veto and ammend, as the council on most issues. Exemptions are mostly in the field of foreign and security policies, simply because that field is still very weakly integrated into the supranational structures and still too much basing on intergovernmentalism (what EU sceptics are such great fans of).

The Lisbon treaty does not really change the state credits issues. Its also not true that the states can't support companies in times of crises. After all, they currently do.
Comparing the EU policies constantly with the Nazis is not helping to polster credibility either.

Well the enabling act of 1933 introduced to give the nazis full control of the government is very similar to the lisbon treaty see article 48 of the treaty , which gives the eu the right to amend the treaty itself once passed by ireland, which means they can then make there own laws without the say so of the people of europe , the local governments will be useless everything a country wants to d will have to go to an unelected group within brussels. scarey huh
