Barium is an element (remember that chart from science class). It is actually mined. Radiation can't penetrate barium hence the "glow". Really it just shows up white on x-ray, fluoroscopy, and cat scan.

It's not poisonous or else "boinnng" would not be making any more videos now would he? I'm gonna be drinking this stuff next Wednesday and I'm excited. I have watched a couple videos on this stuff but watching your organs on tv being x-rayed will be amazing. It's really something you can check off the bucket list when you can see stuff flowing through you. Really funny video though! They are checking me for "Chrons Disease" by the way.
