Your snap on 1/2" ratchet that is missing the directional switch is still made. It's called a scaffold ratchet. They don't exchange the whole ratchet. They'll just install the lever.
@Kingsevends This kid has not been on youtube in years, i would not recomend this set. Go with a craftsman set much better quality however you might wanna pick up a duralast ratchet or two they are kinda cool.
Keep an eye out for Plomb sockets & ratchets. If you find a good working plomb ratchet, you'll never use anything else. Back in the day Plomb made Snap-On look like garbage.
That Proto wrench you have is made by Plomb. Old Proto was made by Plomb, new Proto is made by Stanley.
& 5cylcoupe, you must be rich. Only a dumb ass rich person would intentionally destroy his/her tools.
@papabugs71 Proto is Plomb. Plomb is Proto. Plomb had to change their name to Proto (short for Professional Tools) after they were sued by Plumb in the late 1940's. And yes they were and still are good tools. Proto didn't change their original Plomb design, and have also added some new designs.
@caterpillar785c Im familiar with Plombs history. I have 100's of Plomb tools. Old Proto is Plomb. New Proto (1984+) is half Plomb half Stanley. I have a new Proto 24 tooth 3/8's ratchet & it has more play in it than my 50+ year old Plombs. But, all in all still good tools.
@papabugs71 Actually Im not rich. Most tools nowadays have lifetime warranties so I can just take it back and get a new one. I replaced that husky ratchet with a Proto Challenger and so happy with it. It freakin destroyed that Husky ratchet with that test I meantioned in an earlier comment. I always put a cheater bar on it and never feels like its gonna break. Id even put it up against a snap on 3/8" ratchet.
Uh.. the debate of which brand name tool is better than which. Nowadays, all hand tools have Lifetime Warranty(s). As a matter in fact, Husky has Forever Warranty. 90% of hand tools nowadays are made from either China or Taiwan. Me personally, I buy just any brand if the price is right. I just broke a Snap On screwdriver several days ago and I have yet to break my Harbor Freight screwdriver. Use your best judgement enjoy the joy of a job well done.
I started out my career 27 years ago. First ratchet i owned was a Craftsman. after years of good dependable service it broke and was warrentied. the four that followed were absolute garbage. So i bought a Proto, very good ratchet. Now I use a Snap On Dual 80. Craftsman in its glory days was unbeatable, but as things are now they simply are not up to par in the field of heavy duty diesel. as for duralast ratchets, i do own one and it is a very nice tool for the home toolbox.
@timmy102345 i think the new ratchets from craftsman are ok but the older models are definitley better and no duralast is not better it may look like snap on but its not
i agree with his opinions craftsman is mostly crappy but the proffesional series does have SOME nice things we all know snap on and mac are great but expensive i used to be skeptical about duralast but i found theyre not bad at all i mostly own harbor freight tools and a bunch of randoms inexpensive and they dont break under pressure $.02
@MrHoracioceballos Listen up fuckbubble craftsman is way kick ass ok! No they are not shit. Duralast and harnorefreight suck! This is why people like you should not be able to reproduce
@Gigglyable i wouldn't call craftsman "way kick ass" they're actually kinda mediocre if you compare them to other brand especially if you use them daily. With daily use craftsman WILL break.
@MrHoracioceballos Well the duralast tools (the ones that your sister got for you) are not even close to craftsman. Neither harbor frieght! If ur gonna comment on shit know what your talking about. Ps all ya gotta do is throw some grease inside craftsman ratchets and they're fine. i know thats too complicated for somebody "as smart" as you. P.P.S your mom want you to move out of the basement
@Gigglyable im only stating an opinion based on anecdotal data so i do know what im talking about.I use my tools very often and i need something that can withstand some pressure.I have nothing against you OR craftsman theyre just not good after repeated use. i apologize if i hurt your feelings man.
you guys are idiots. Craftsman ratchets are the gayest ratchets ever. They are so clunky its hard to engage the next gear in a tight spot. I like my china Husky 3/8" ratchets better and they're way stronger too. I tested this by putting each one in a vise and put a bar on the end. Needless to say I broke the Crapsman with a 2 foot pipe and barely any effort. It took a 4 foot pipe and all my weight to break the Husky
@5cylcoupe ok i am a small engine mechanic nothing special but i have broke at least a half a dozen husky ratchets the insides are just not strong enough but i have never broken a craftsman tool EVER. maybe its just luck i don't know or rally care. but don't call someone an idiot when they like something thats just assholeinsh.
@Gigglyable Im not kidding if you dont believe me try it yourself. Im not saying all craftsman sucks though. And sears really let me down once when I tried to buy a spanner wrench and they didnt have one. Can you believe it?
@5cylcoupe Well yes that could happen but i am in walking distance of 2 Sears and they always have what i need in stock. But then again shit gets different in other parts of the world.
I've used many snap-on ratchets in shop class and i don't like them. I don't know if it's because they were older snap-ons or what. Thats just my short experience in that class and i use Craftsman almost everyday and love them. I have broke a 1/2 breaker bar and a 1/2 ratchet but take them to Sears and there replaced for free. Now does your Durlast have a lifetime warranty?
i hate how ppl have all the draws like that all there shit layed next to easy other trying to make out like all they toolboes are full when all that shit can fit one one draw
Those Duralast ratchets really aren't that bad. I got a few of them back when I worked at AutoZone, and I'm pretty satisfied with them. I was pretty skeptical at first because they are made in Taiwan, but am very suprised in their quality. My favorite is the 1/4" drive offset head ratchet, I use it all the time, it's excellent.

all you got is lab tools. i dont think your tools have ever been used.i would get laughed at if i had shiny tools like that at work. snap on is a joke. who cares what name brand you use. just get the job done and move on to the next. you dont make money cleaning that metal boy. you know what they say. if your work truck is clean you must not have enough work.
If you buy the regular craftsman (home owner crap) then ya its cheap but you can still return it for life. If you buy the professional grade craftsman it works great. Duralast hahahahahahhaha
I like Craftsman a lot... in Canada they produce some tools for Mastercraft, a Canadian company that often sells their tools on discounts and the majority are very good quality. I've had some wrenches for years now, and not a single rust spot. I also bought some Craftsman extensions from Sears and the quality is excellent.
nice tools for a 14 year old!! keep it up! im 16 and i been collecting tools and buying tools since i was 11 and now i got a nice snapon tool chest packed of them tools are a great thing to have so take care of them! :D
HAha, so many responses for calling craftsman crappy. I would like to say that Craftsman is right under Snap, Mac tools. I use them everyday, but SNap and Mac usually make tools somewhat like the Cream of the Crop deal. But craftsman will get MOST of the job done. Kid you got a long way to go, Take some advice and dont call good tools crappy or else you will have us wasting our time trying to call u a dumbo.
wow. u have got to be fuken kidding me. ur down playing craftsman tools. fuck you. snapons are the same exact quality just 3x more expensive. i have a tool chest like that with all craftsman tools that is atleast 50 years old and they all still work great.
Cool vid, but i would like to recommend something to u. if you plan on talking and showing off your tools don't dis craftsman shit! Reason why 80% of the shit that u have is craftman, yet u have a tool box of it aswell... Craftsman does the job, if people complain about them is because they propably buy it used, or passed it on from thier grandpa. You contridict yourself on this Video, U Sound Retarded dude!!! get it 2gether. yet its cheap, but u keep buying them....DUHHHH!!!!!!!!!
I agree Craftsman ratchets suck. At least the newer ones do. I have some old ones that are good, but I use Snap-On, Stanley, Matco, and Blackhawk before I'll buy a new Craftsman. I would rather buy a Harbor Freight ratchet over a Craftsman.

craftsman is just known for being a top line home use brand. Snap-on does make some specialty tools that I use from day to day but I will never buy wrenches from them. I don't feel like paying 30-70 bucks more for the same wrenches. aside from the air tools I can have any craftsman replaced for life. But hey if you have the money to buy a 3000+ snap-on chest. Power too ya. Some of us aren't luckey enough to have 45k
I dont see what is wrong with craftsman ratchets I personally think they work fine and I take apart rust trucks and they always work for me althought I use air tools 90 percent of the time
i m from europe.... i had all my tools down there, and knew what brand to buy to get the best... moved in USA couple years ago, make myself a nice garage with all my tools and everything.... is craftsman the best here...??? what about the brand husky....?? could somebody advice me.... what brand should i buy to not be desapointed..????
@zamamattiolo We are glad to have you in the USA! Welcome. Many fulltime mechanics use SnapOn, MatCo, Proto etc. The expensive tool reps come to the jobsites but their price$ are up there (they also finance). Many of the tools Home Depot, Lowes, AutoZone are warrantied for LIFE. If it breaks, they replace it forever. Craftsman started that lifetime warranty back in the day. I buy and sell Craftsman roll-a-way boxes on Craigslist. If you want pics of any of my setups, lemme know
@zamamattiolo Snap-On,Mac,Matco,Craftsman,Craftsman Professional,Kobalt,Stanley and Huskey are some top brands.Harbor Freight Tools are a inexpensive option.
Craftsman's refurbished ratchets are junk and make sure you get handed a new ratchet if getting them replaced.I know some one that got one of them for a replacement and it broke right away.Just find a Snap On dealer to get the guts replaced in the one with the broken off lever.I am sure the guts inside are stil available still and it is under warranty with no charge..
i personally hate that craftsman ratchets always kick out of gear and bust your knuckles but id still buy them over some china junk made from 78% lead. love snap-on ratchets. craftsman does make a good wrench though, the open end don't spread like Chinese and even mac and snap-on wrenches can.
nice for a guy who doesnt work with them every day. when you use tools really like i do working at a semi dealership its gotta be snappy or matco. and nobody imitates snapon just by the way
I like Craftsman but since Sears pissed me off i buy Snap-on. ill pay moor idk. buy the way if you think your garage is messy you should see my friends garage. car parts every whear and junk i would throw away.
craftsmam tools are great you dont know what your talking about. anything thats made in tiwan or china are shit. all U.S. tools are way better qualty then other countries. the only forine tools that are alright are japanese. but yea you have no idea what your talking baout. im sorry
i love craftsman. they are in my price range and have a lifetime handtool warranty. i dont have any problem with snap on. im actually thinking about getting a snap on torque wrench.
i have no problem with craftsmen....also those ones u have are the cheapest craftsmen ratchets. there are even better craftsmans that are more rounded and fully polished. i believe there part of crafftsmans professional line. also the 60 tooth thin profile craftsman ratchet is just an amazing ratchet. and also im glad im not the only one who thinks the duralast ratchet is awsome.
@boldero66 You're right - he doesn't know what hes talking about. At age 14, I'm not really impressed with his possible repertoirre of experince anyhow. Most of his "knowledge" is listening to Daddy regurgitating stuff and not fist-hand exp. anyhow. Alot of tool mantra is just preference. Harbor freight is ok for a sledge hammer or something you use once a year but dayin dayout? Err.. yeahhh rightttt.. lol
@EthanMarotta seriously, you'd recommend HF over Craftsman? you just mentioned the wrench bends, how is that good? so, the wrench bends, snaps, and now you're hurt on some jagged POS wrench... you make a lot of sense.
You can to take snap-on ratchets back I've done it a few times, they give you a new one or rebuild it in front of you. I've never had a problem getting my snap-on stuff replaced. I think craftman tools are fine though to start out with all my impact sockets are craftman.
nice tools man, I remember asking you one time about the visegrips with the cam... its so cool, most unusual. To the brother who asked about the obsession with tools: its a hobby man, tools metalwork, mechanics...etc etc. All an extension of the creative mind, we're inventors, creators technicians. Michael angelo used a paint brush, I use sockets, wrenches and a drill.
Then you take them back to Sears and they give you a new one. Spray some wd-40 in the ones that are sticky, they work pretty well. I do love my Snap ons and Macs.
@1972FordF150 he likes the autozone shit that does not have a warranty but he hate a good respected tool name wtf. that is mostly all i use is craftsman a few harbor freight ratchets the fine teeth ones but hey those are ok too, and even harbor freight has a lifetime warranty but i do like harbor freights 1/4 inch sets|:-)>

bgpmp16 2 years ago 2
nice for a guy who doesnt work with them every day. when you use tools really like i do working at a semi dealership its gotta be snappy or matco. and nobody imitates snapon just by the way
bgpmp16 2 years ago
I have that same craftsman tool box as you. Nice video. Nice tools too

lol i like how you explain your ratchets
galatasaray710 2 years ago
i love craftsman. they are in my price range and have a lifetime handtool warranty. i dont have any problem with snap on. im actually thinking about getting a snap on torque wrench.
82chrisa 2 years ago
i have no problem with craftsmen....also those ones u have are the cheapest craftsmen ratchets. there are even better craftsmans that are more rounded and fully polished. i believe there part of crafftsmans professional line. also the 60 tooth thin profile craftsman ratchet is just an amazing ratchet. and also im glad im not the only one who thinks the duralast ratchet is awsome.

i thought craftsman was supposed to be really good?
trailertrash20010 2 years ago
@trailertrash20010 they are great tools he doesnt know what hes talking about at all. harbor freight? ahah those are such terrible tools
boldero66 2 years ago
they are but they get the job done, most of the time lol
trailertrash20010 2 years ago
@boldero66 You're right - he doesn't know what hes talking about. At age 14, I'm not really impressed with his possible repertoirre of experince anyhow. Most of his "knowledge" is listening to Daddy regurgitating stuff and not fist-hand exp. anyhow. Alot of tool mantra is just preference. Harbor freight is ok for a sledge hammer or something you use once a year but dayin dayout? Err.. yeahhh rightttt.. lol
flapsdwn 1 year ago
stupid kid, "craftsman ratchets suck" and "I would really recommend these harbor freight wrenchs" you dont make any sense
EthanMarotta 2 years ago 21
craftsman are shit there like a knock off of mastercraft
pimpinpenz 2 years ago
@EthanMarotta thank you lol
boldero66 2 years ago
@EthanMarotta seriously, you'd recommend HF over Craftsman? you just mentioned the wrench bends, how is that good? so, the wrench bends, snaps, and now you're hurt on some jagged POS wrench... you make a lot of sense.

You can to take snap-on ratchets back I've done it a few times, they give you a new one or rebuild it in front of you. I've never had a problem getting my snap-on stuff replaced. I think craftman tools are fine though to start out with all my impact sockets are craftman.
dave0z96 2 years ago
Huh unfortionattly I don't own any snap-on wrenches :( I have like 65-70 year old snap-on sockets though.
1972FordF150 2 years ago
why did you randomly laugh after you talked about the sockets ???
007CoDMaster 2 years ago
nice tools man, I remember asking you one time about the visegrips with the cam... its so cool, most unusual. To the brother who asked about the obsession with tools: its a hobby man, tools metalwork, mechanics...etc etc. All an extension of the creative mind, we're inventors, creators technicians. Michael angelo used a paint brush, I use sockets, wrenches and a drill.
foxdmulder 2 years ago
this is not a obsession that's just a little box go talk to a ase tech talk to one one them about there tools
kickstand6669 2 years ago
I have a craftsman 3/8 inch ratchet wrench and I love it why do you think there crap??
1972FordF150 2 years ago 3
they dont rachet smooth and they wear out fast
timmy102345 2 years ago
why do you think you can take em back and get a new one no change?? I think they work fine.
1972FordF150 2 years ago
craftsman's cool nothin but love for them, but snap on's the shit... it's "gucci" for guys.. The 80 tooth snap on ratchet is sick..
arsdag81 2 years ago 2
yeah snapon's better for quality but you can't take them back, if they break.

@timmy102345
Then you take them back to Sears and they give you a new one. Spray some wd-40 in the ones that are sticky, they work pretty well. I do love my Snap ons and Macs.
dutchboy25al 1 year ago
@timmy102345 just grease them up a little mine have never worn out.
redneckrollercoast1 9 months ago
@1972FordF150 I know right i love craftsman tools! Don't have a broken one yet!
Gigglyable 1 year ago
@Gigglyable I know. All you have to do is grease them so they ratchet smoother lol
1972FordF150 1 year ago
@1972FordF150 Yes i use heavy duty wheel bearing grease in all of my ratchets!
Gigglyable 1 year ago
@1972FordF150 he likes the autozone shit that does not have a warranty but he hate a good respected tool name wtf. that is mostly all i use is craftsman a few harbor freight ratchets the fine teeth ones but hey those are ok too, and even harbor freight has a lifetime warranty but i do like harbor freights 1/4 inch sets|:-)>
