Awesome! I love this kind of raw and rough garage rock from the 60s. My hobby is to rediscover all those great bands during that period that didn´t "broke through". It´s a fantastic musical treasure. Listen for example to:
THE ZETTLERS and their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". Really f....g good with a bloody driving beat.
THE GOLLIWOGS and the tune "Tell me". Check up the singer......Yes, it´s him!!
I had the pleasure of working here in the U.S. with Thorpe and Tony Barber when they had a music and toy development company here. GREAT guy's and I never got the opportunity to ask them all the question's I had about " The Aussie Beatles". ! Great to see this !
Thorpe pulled bigger crowds in Australia than the Beatles at the same period of time. I can see why! He weren't much older than the girls in his audience.
@Ninyae1 ...Quite Correct.....The Beach House and Surf City at the Weekends were the only places to be....Lots of great memories from those times...The imposters they put up today as " Entertainers ".....Give me a break !!!!!
Yeah, there were a lot good bands in Australia. Billy Thorpe and The Aztecs held the Number 1 spot with "Poison Ivy" when the Beatles were here in June 64. See the early 70's version of Billy Thorpe on Youtube to contrast.

It's unfortunate that Billy Thorpe and The Aztecs never toured the USA. These guys are great AND SO ARE THOSE AUSSIE BABES! 1964-67 FOREVER!
