Also, the Rover V8 - what an engine! So reliable, so tunable, sounds so bloody good... Richard Hammond once called it the Queen Mother of car engines... I'd disagree. Once people started tuning them, it became the Lemmy Kilmister of car engines!

The SD1 was, when it was new, a horrid, unreliable, badly-built POS. Even so, I still think that the Ferrari/Maserati-inspired shape has stood the test of time and this one, well, let's not even go into what it does for me... one day I'm going to have one like it. Might get the live axle out and bung in a Jag or BMW IRS, but there's something that really appeals about a 5-door, 5-seat, 5-litre hatchback! =D

they did, well sort of, they built the SD1 Vitesse, a pretty quick car which was raced succesfully by TWR in the European touringcar championship against BMW 635csi and the Volvo 242Turbo

We have now managed a 5.5 litre Morgan which we will have footage of soon.
