@Theneongray2 yeah but they were 4kg (only the frame) in the 90's and now they are 1kg and you can say double or triple butted or 4130 cromo or reynolds tubes they were exist also but the customer interest changes :)
Some riders used racing frames back in the day, especially all of the DK riders, but eventually they redesigned some of the frames and added gussets.
One thing that good older frames has was THICK welds. All the welds on frames these days are so tiny, and if a frame snaps it often happens at the weld not the tube itself (although that happens too lol).
Crazyness. If the future we will be riding carbon fiber stick bikes.
@stbcrewone I'd totally agree but on the other hand, so many strong tubes (like reynolds 853) are out there now but they're rarely used for bmx. And they usually snap in the same places, so it wouldn't take a 4 kg frame to make them strong enough.
@Theneongray2 Not realy, most ppl just keep there frames for about 6 or 7 years, which causes the molecules to seperate. plus ppl ride harder these days
