  • sounds like the ox sings more on this one, thanks for the post!

  • Not a bad cover of Benny Spellmans original but only a cover all the same! Not quite Maximum R 'n' B. Which for anyone under twenty five doesn't mean Rhythm & Bass. You kids have got it half right., but F**k the bass , you need Blues for the good of your soul and to dance the night away. Not MDMA and just waving your arms to a Bass thump!

  • When townshend says fortune teller at the start he sounds like forrest gump.

  • This is a Stones Song from around 1967. They did it much faster and better.

  • @GuitarJr44 Rolling Stones version of Fortune Teller was already recorded in 1963.

  • Anyone remember The Who doing Substitute/ Finland '67- because it was nastier than the Pistols' version. They got ahead of The Stooges with the sound?

  • this is not 1968..... its 67

  • thanks for the recording I had never heard it befor. Its amazing how the who can play a song multiple ways and make each version sound like its a diffrent song love it

  • Thanks!!

  • I like slower, Leeds version, this is a wicked early version

  • Wish I could have seen the pre-Who's Next, pre-Tommy Who...just once.

  • this is the music that gave birth to punk rock. today's plastic pop stars just wish they could be half as cool as The Who!!

  • exactly

  • @friendstacy if only everyone thought that, the music world would be so much better. god bless us who fans

  • could you upload the rest

  • first league!

  • I'm not a big lover of this song either way, but -if- I had to pick..I'd choose the Live at Leeds version.

  • I agree, Actually I think that Leeds version of "Fortune Teller" is the best one.

  • Same here! The Leeds version kicks ass by a long shot! I've heard the very original song of this and the one done by the Stones...the Who's version is still superior in my view lol.

  • i no were to get this from its a website wich has lots of songs on

  • where?

  • Great Song Indeed - It seems alot of people have covered this song (Stones - Robert Plant etc..)

  • I think Leeds or the London Coluseum one

  • @TheWholigans: The London Coliseum version was pretty good as well.

  • I have posted a studio version of this

  • I have a clear yellow plastic version of this very concert, together with a Pete the Pig Snout dust sleeve cover. Very cool, one of the Who's best concerts ever!

  • If anyone owns 30 years of Maximum R&B Box Set will know that there's a studio version of this song that sounds similar to this.

  • True, Very Rare!

    Long Live The Who!

  • yay i`ve got that it`s the best

  • I have the box set, I have had it for almost fifteen years. The live version beats the studio version, no matter where it was recorded live.

  • whoa!! its so different!! thats realy cool though!

  • Wow, sounds nothing like the Live at Leeds version!

  • I know! It doesint even begin the same!

  • Indeed, just a little bit, I like the Leeds version better, but this is cool too!

  • I find this much better than the overated LAL show one
