Not actually; reading what the pope at that time said (like I mentioned texts were translated) was to claim more land from the Muslim people, and throughout Europe. There was no attach from the Muslims during the Crusades; but there were sailors; whereby just like the Pilgrims went to lands by boat and set up shop in other parts of the world. The Crusades was about land; and the Inquisition about religion. Where did you go to school, in NY there are fabulous Libraries; that don't ban.

Right now, I'm interested in Paris in the late 19th Century; love the internet now I'll go to the library on line as well. In parochial school it was expected xtra work, the nuns taught I spent time in the local library; my grades were exceptional. In HS my social studies teacher did the same I had college credit in HS and if I choose to graduate early I had the option. My grades were exceptional in HS (the sciences for a girl). Yes everyone read, maybe you should too. Last time I checked Catholic Nuns weren't liberal/revisionist they taught and expected the kids to learn at least this was in the 60-70's time.
