  • politics and wars aside, i still do think the russian air shows are more fun to watch, even if its cuz their pilots are just crazier. i respect how ambitious they are with their stunts.

  • This is not a cobra, it's not meant to be a cobra. This is a purposeful stall designed to show the relative ease it takes to save an F22 from a stall.

An F22 (by design) would do a cobra better than any other production aircraft on the planet, thrust vectoring would make it look simple.

  • FUCK THE RUSSIANS.

  • It isn't flying backwards its basicly controlling stall

  • Russians don't count... Theyre fucking crazy... Same goes for the asians.

  • @iYok0 russians are idiots but theyre goood lol

  • the power of thrust vectoring... f-22 is BY FAR the best plane ever built by man to date. nuff' said.

  • That my friend... Is called a Controlled Stall. He is hovering, and internal Gyros keep the plane steady. Planes like this do things that almost defy physics.

  • He stalled it intentionally and he did not fly backwards, its called a hover and its very close to a cobra maneuver. Stil the F-22 looks inferior to the Sukhoi

  • i watched an F-18 do that

  • any plane can do that its just go up and put it into a stall

  • @flooglafish Not unless they have a thrust-to-weight ration greater than 1.

  • @flooglafish exactly did you here about the superhornet that got a gun kill on a 22

  • @flooglafish Huh? Yeah, ANY plane can do this and then during recovery it will crash and burn. At the 2010 Miramar show only two planes did this. The Oracle Challenger III which is an acrobatic bi-plane and the Raptor. For all the other planes it is too dangerous.

  • not a great show, i believe raptor can do much better thing than this.

  • The F-22 is a 5th generation craft !!!!

That means it is way ahead of any aircraft !!!

The F-35 is available for other allied forces (joint striker)

The F-22 is not for sale !!!

If the Japanese want it and it's not for sale, you know it's

    good !!!!!!!!!!

  • yea this isn't flying backwards its more gravity

the term "flying backwards" sounds like its using thrust to propel it in another direction than the nose is facing

  • its called stall it meas that the plane will handle like its a big rock in mid air and start falling down. not much airplanes can escape from stall insteed they will crash to ground but f22 can handle stall like a doll

  • i think that every fighter jet can recover from a stall all u need is altitude and speed

  • I believe most if not all airplanes can recover from a stall.

  • depends how high they are. In this case ashigh as the raptor was. No public aircraft or transport aircraft cant recover.

  • nice tailslide

  • I love the raptor lmao its been my fave jet for years now and still nothing can touch it or even come close lol

  • yea, i was just at an airshow this past weekend and the F18 was doing this also. Very amazing to see, i didnt know

    F18 can do that.

  • not even close to a Russian cobra....the F-22 might win in real combat, but sorry, the Russians dominate in airshows, period!

  • Thats because the Russians are bat shit crazy and are too drunk to know when to ease off the pedal LOL

Us Americas are lazy. We just chuck our planes full of the best technology and pilots smart enough to operate them and call it a day.

  • I think the Russians have taken maneuverability to the limit. However the F-22 is capable of doing a proper cobra:

    watch?v=RJO0KzTgcMI

  • for the past months with russian migs in airshow they always seem to crash and pilots die how is that better?

  • That is why their slavshit always crashes (usually into spectators)?

Enjoy your piece of soviet junk.

  • just a weak version of cobra, check out what Russians do....

  • do you have any video of what you're referring to?

  • @zman815 lol i was thinking the same thing.

Family Guy : "Role Clip? Oh.. No Clip"

  • @zman815 watch?v=UfTH796fv1A&feature=related

  • Search "Sukhoi Destruidor"

  • @tgamirov /watch?v=RJO0KzTgcMI

  • @tgamirov the russians cant make a plane like this

  • @fallout3freak360 LMAO T-50 PAK-FA nuff said

  • @lacogu

Maybe in another 4 or 5 years. Till then... nope.

  • @tgamirov You mean the manuver the Russians were attempting to do when they crashed and burned at the airshow :)

  • @tgamirov Most american planes can do a cobra maneuver,Russians been bragging about that maneuver since the 80s,And this isnt even remotely close to being a cobra maneuver

  • @tgamirov cobra is easier to achieve than that, cobra just last for less than a few seconds and has no significant use in combat, this one the plance actually stops and completely remove anytrace of it on radar or make the enemy on its tail overshoot while still in complete control of the plane

  • @tgamirov check out what Russians do? Get shot down by superior US fighter jets that's what lol

  • @Meeses360 Where is that happening?

  • @tgamirov That was a tailslide actually.

  • Incredible flying.

  • Amazing video!! That backward flight is made possible due to the use of thrust vectoring technology. The f22 has two dimension vectoring(pitch axis)for higher maneuverability.

  • Yeah it just stopped then hovered for a sec. The F22's abilities are sick. You realize how much fuel it gulps to do those types of maneuvers?

  • definatly not flying backwards....he did a vertical climb...set the throtal to where he could hover....then he dove down and etc.......

  • He was not flying backwards he was doing a cobra or something close to it.

  • idk much about planes but that is freaking amazing man. that is not just a great plane but a great pilot thanks for putting this up.

  • the best aircraft so far.

  • err... i would have to disagree, ;)

  • I would agree, the f-22 is largely unchallenged by any othr current aircraft.

  • Not the coolest in my opinion, but definitely the deadliest!

  • I disagree

  • Cool. ;)

  • Amazing aircraft!!! Saw it at Langley, where was this one taken at?

  • This was taken at Charleston AFB in South Carolina.

  • wow, so sick
