  • All smiles....:-) I love all your movies.... it would be easier to watch if you made a playlist for them...

  • 5:42 brilliant photography.

  • i must add that most of you, sadly missed the point of Kevins charecter being a jerk so to speak. He's trying to teach allan discipline. Not how to yield the most fish. the trap was brilliant yes, but he was showing patience, skill and a understaniding of our ancestors. So many of you simply missed the entire point of this film!

  • i wish someone did this for me at his age in this film. I remember being young watching this thinking, what a dick! Now i know his way was a much easier lesson.im not simply refering to the fish, rather the discipline.

  • got this on dvd love it for yrs

  • I suddenly have a craving for bacon.

  • yea cause when your starving you would throw out fish you caught in a trap cause its not the right way? thats retarded

  • ha that garbage wouldn't work on me Id just swim over and give Vic a big F-You before I took a nap in my tent

  • @SteelerSpartan HAHA! I would have followed the rules

    LOL

  • Kevin Bacon is my favorite actor

  • he caught the fish the way the native American Indians did.

  • kevin bacon plays a great psycho

  • I'd gut and clean Vic if he pulled that shit on me.

  • The cut scenes with older hipper Allan are annoying, distracting and completely unnecessary: he's not telling us anything we don't know (oh, really; you would have died if you fell off that 500 foot tall rope bridge?! I never would have realized that without the visual aid!!). It really just serves to take you out of the story and break the mood.

It also seems like young nerd-Allan and older cool-Allan are two completely different characters. Nobody changes that much.

  • @jimbrown257

    Cont:

That being said, I realize why they did it. After this movie, Sean Astin had become pretty popular. It's clear from the age difference of young and older Allan that some time passed between the original filming and it's release. They wanted to capitalize on the older Sean Astin which people would more readily recognize. They also clearly wanted to somehow work in his B.R.A.T. Patrol hipster character even though it doesn't fit in at all with the rest of the movie.

  • @jimbrown257 Allan's sardonic analysis of the whole thing is a great addition. Also an unusual device for a film to be able to use. Because of how this sat on the shelf for two years, they were able to add another element (and also pad the running time).

Jim, --- and this is just an honest observation --- I remember in high school some of the gawkiest, geekiest, non-layable guys going from that to all of a sudden Mr. Popularity after summer break. It does happen.

  • A Vic le asustaba Allan, por eso era asi con el, porque Allan era más listo, a pesar de sus temores

  • Keep your goddamn kabob off mine!

  • least fav part is when he leaves him on the small island, kevin is great playin a jerk in this film lol

  • @RaptorLuv why was he a jerk

  • sean astin is rockin out with that radio lol

  • Alana way was better. That's how a real man (or woman) survives, using the few things you have to live in the wild. And if making a trap out of nothing and catching more fish isn't how to do it then idk how else you can do it better. His trap is good technology.

  • Notice how Vic continues to isolate Alan from the group in an effort for him to conform and submit to Vic's will. This is a great example of how those people of Authority use simple psychological tactics to get the black sheep of society to fall in line.

    Rebel!

  • Goonies never die!

  • cool fish trap

  • Yeah, I mean Alan finally did something without being a total PUSS and Vic can't handle it. Love this movie.......

  • Who lets some kid hike by himself. even in the day isnt smart and make him go at night is crazy

  • name music????????????

  • @klatoo100 I know lol

  • @klatoo100 Cutting Crew-Life in a dangerous time lol im 21 nd this song still is the best song i know....enjoy dude

  • @gshineman yeah this is a great great song.

  • poor guy can't guy never do nothing right

  • Vic is a dirty, tree hugging Liberal.

  • I can understand why vic is a little frustrated...he keeps turning the damn radio on when said not to and lies and complains about everything.

  • this is the one part where i think he is really unreasonable. He should respect that the kid used his intellect. it's not like he used something made in a factory.

  • I agree...he was making something that was hard to do, easy...

  • who let their kid go into the woods with this guy hes a liitle aggressive.Hey go cross that bridge that you might fall 300 feet to your death we'll go set up camp.

  • When he played Wade in The River Wild I think he based a lot of that character off of Vick.

  • Tai Chi/Meditation in the wilderness or around real nature is great for the mind. I understand why Kevin Bacons character was so harsh on Sean Astin's character because Kevin wanted Sean to respect nature more without any distractions from the real world.

  • awesome movie man, love it my all time favorite

  • Why when people refer to being one with nature they have to always bring up Indians? Ancient Europeans was also!

  • got this shit on dvd,,,loved kevin bacon,,movies dont have the feel like they did back then even with geeky sean astin,,,,guess were all getting older,,ims till gonna show my kids that our shit was the best....all this new shit sucks LOL

  • Bears stand in the water grabbing fish. Their tool is their claws. I think Vic has failed to identify man's tool is his mind. Trying endorse ineffeciency in the name of what? Being "one with nature"?

    Vic = douche

  • Uh oh... trouble!!! I rest my case! LMAO! Thanks Mister Wizard!!!

  • I want that song too! i have always tried to get the name of that song, but no luck. it sounds great!

  • You would have thought that Alan would have known to take his glasses off and putting them in his coat pocket before walking over the bridge, maybe then he wouldn't have taken the risk of them falling off his face when he tripped.

  • I want that song that was on Allens radio I talking about I cant find it anywhere

  • THE SONG IS "LIFE IN A DANGEROUS TIME" of Cuting Crew

  • Sean Astin is DEFINATLY the hottest person in this movie! I loooove him♥

  • what the hell does kevin bacon do with all of these radios hes taking from the damn kids? lmao!

  • Comment removed

  • Where can I get that song that was on that radio, I cant get it anywhere. I'd love to be able to blast that when driving. Life in a Dangerous time is my favorite, but I still want that song I think its called hot shot.

  • Alan was a spoiled, cry baby ass bitch! I'd do the same thing if I was Kevin Bacon

  • power trippin ass bastarsd..this was my jawn when i saw it at 13

  • too bad this song never got much recognition. It's a great song!!!

  • who sings it? it sounds familiar. ur talkin about the one at 3:32 right?

  • I always wondered how Alan was able to deal with the rest of the trip after is glasses fell off his face when he was on the bridge. I would have been lost without my glasses.

  • Jealous much Vic?...

  • they are just 2 differant personalitys that clash.

but kevin bacon took it too far.

    brilliant actor.

he was a bastard in this movie.

  • Thank God for Kevin Bacon a New Yorker, if it wasnt for him this movie would be a bout bratty white kids getting their way!

    well not in my UNIVERSE!

  • hahaha remember BONER from growing pains,,hes that kid that always says dickface in this lol

  • glasses falling at 1:44...epic.

  • I really didn´t like kevin´s character when I watched this a long time ago. He wanted Sean´s character to learn how to do things the nature way like how to survive in the nature and learn to dare to do things by himself and not get help from others.

  • "life in a dangerous time" by the cutting crew

  • What is the song playing when they leave Allen to clean the fish?

  • a bruce hornsby tune pretty sure most of the stuff was from him bruce hornsby and the range..i looked on some site,,you can find the whole album/artist listing for it just google it
