I see what the guy below means, I've been playing for 3 years and I feel really behind as I just focused on speed & I'm having to re-learn a lot of things as I didn't slow down before (if you want to know what I mean, check my video BassWank - I play like that now because I didn't slow down before, which makes me somewhat of a hypocrite). Good point, do you use a metronome? I'm just starting properly & it helps loads. Keep playing, you WILL be amazing!
Listen to the song more, slow it down to increase your precision & work it up to speed with a metronome - once you have done that you can then add your own fills, but you should get to grips with the song beforehand. People need to be more honest & pay less attention to your looks & give constructive comments, sorry if it sounds harsh, but it will help your playing. I love how into it you get, though & it wasn't completely off, it just needs to be tightened up! How long have you been playing? (:
