  • idk why i think u look like michelle pfieffer

  • eggs and bacon ... ok bacon, does it matter where the calories come from? if its 1300... does it matter WHAT KIND of 1300 cal your eating? to drop FAT. Im into fitness, not just skinny, so i want muscle and low body fat. So eating carbs for 1300 cal ofcourse is not optimal. But really, what are the rules for this? =)

  • if people are wondering why it doesnt work for some people is because you need more water then food this is my problem i eat over the regular calorie intake because i think im hungery but really i need to drink water and alot of it 8 bottles of water a day and i have maybe 2 sooo this is one of the big problems

  • pooo

  • poo

  • You're adorable!

  • Skip the wine. There is NO nutrition in it whatsoever. Have more veggies or a bigger peice of fish.

  • Okay, you say just add a 0 to your ideal weight, but I'm a pretty petite girl (only 5'2), and my ideal weight would be 108lbs. However 1080 calories seems like nothing! Especially since I'm still young/ I'm relatively active. I feel like I would be starving. Does the rule still apply?

  • I tried to eat 1200 calories a day but then I felt really tired. I didn't have enough energy throughout the day. What should I do? Do I stick to the diet?

  • @zyzll Make sure you're not eating a lot of sugary products but rather foods with protein and fiber. I find eating most of my carbs in the morning helps keep me energized during the day because it burns at my body's own pace. So if you eat whole wheat toast in the morning with maybe a tablespoon of peanut butter or some yogurt, you might feel better. Also, I'll eat a fiber bar during the day and it's only around 90 calories.

  • Only 1300 calories? Why not eat 2000+ with exercise? That'll add more nutrition and make one fitter. Overall, health will dramatically improve. There is too much focus on carbs, fat, protein, sugar... etc., the macronutrients leading to almost forgetting about the micronutrients, the things a lot of people take vitamins for.

  • Mattie, help me I'm HUNGRY! I work as a deckhand on a private yacht, I'm always moving and working and washing the boat, always burning calories and I'm alwaaays hungry, I could eat 10 full meals a day if the chef would allow me, what do I do? I'm always hungry!

  • To lose weight you don't count calories. You eat less of the foods that allow for excessive insulin production namely refined carbs.

  • If someone is trying to loose over 100 pounds, aren't they supposed to slowly cut out calories until they are eating 1300 calories a day, so that they don't tend to binge? restricting many calories from day 1 can be very hard for someone that is used to eating way more than 1300 calories a day.

Another question: after a binge (or eating too much in one day). should you eat less the next day or stay at your daily recommended amount of calories?

  • @favoritesmoothies you need to do what's right for you. I've seen it work both ways. some people have no problem dropping to 1300 cal as long as they are made up of mostly protein and veggies...no starch/sugar etc...

You have to make friends with hunger. My very overweight clients are almost afraid of being hungry, when in actuality it's just a natural healthy indicator that your body needs good fuel in the appropriate quantity.

If you binge go back to 1300 the next day.

  • @MattieRobertsShow thanks for the info!! I don't have to loose 100 pounds, just a few though and all your videos are helping me. thanks!

  • Omg u r sooooooooo gorgeous

  • no fruit?

  • @lilaznkouk I eat fruit about once a week as a treat...it's so much sugar. If you have a great source of organic berries then, yes, a little daily fruit is fine. But for me it just makes my energy crash. To each her own, though. Honor your body above all else xo

  • @MattieRobertsShow Thanks for the reply. I eat fruit everyday. The sugar in fruit is actually different from other sugars, its called fructose and this sugar is broken down slowly in your system so its actually good for you.

  • @lilaznkouk me to and I have all my life along with lots of vegetables and I eat grains as well and fish and moose meat I just don't eat any junk food or processed junk that is all!

  • @lilaznkouk LOL There is no such thing as good sugar. Sugar is sugar is sugar. Funny.

  • i not trying to be a know all but knowone is naturally blessed with a good metabolisms your metabolism depends on how much you exercise if you exercise 4-5 times week your can just enjoy your food instead of worrying about how many calories you are allowed.i used to be fat and lost 3 and a half stone and because of all the exercise i do i eat more now then when i was fat beacause i require the more calories

  • all you people who eat 1200-1300 calories a day are wat i call anerexic its been proven that a human body needs 1600 calories a day to even function correctly with no exercise because thats what a human body naturally burns off in a day.

  • @SAMscouse1 Lucky you! If I ate 1600 cal a day I'd gain weight. At 118 lbs 1200 cal. is about perfect for me to healthfully maintain. We all have different body types and metabolisms and you must be blessed with an exceptionally fast one.

  • @MattieRobertsShow that s funny. i had my eating habits checked and my dietician said i eat to little and not regularly...ate about 1200 cal a day...so, she calculated what my body needs and it s 2100 cal...since i eat this every day, i m losing weight. lost 30 pounds so far by eating this amount and doing sport (jump roping).....funny , isnt it? :D

  • @schnecki07 though it s kinda hard for me to eat this much calories..but it works. 2100 per day ...this number freaked me out at the beginning...but now i m all cool with it ...coz it works :D

  • @SAMscouse1 This is completely FALSE the amount of calories you need is based on height, gender and age! Everyone burns fuel differently. If you're looking to lose weight you reduce your calorie intake by knocking 500 off your BMR total.

  • Thanks for sharing .... great way to eat. :))

  • Mattie, You are such a joy to watch. I am just loving your videos! Thx : )

  • do you still eat the pita breads and stuff? tuna wraps?

  • @poshdelux I'll occasionaly have one of the high protein, high fiber wraps from La Tortilla or similar, or a little bit of rice with sushi. But overall I'm really staying pretty true to the Primal Blueprint. I find that now if I do have wheat or grains I get bloated and puffy :0

  • No protein/veggie option unless you do the 6 Day Mini Makeover (which you're told not to be before original plan). I'm gonna give it a shot. Spring is around the corner, though it's been snowing here in Jersey non-stop :/

I appreciate your advice. Thank you!

  • Awesome! Thanks for the ideas!

  • you look amazing!

  • great video Mattie! I love to hear you talk :)

  • 1000 is a bit low, but since you are petite it's not going to be as bad for you. Try the 1200 calorie route for a bit but go STRICTY primal. Only eat meat and eggs, lots and lots of veggies (everything that grows above ground) a few nuts and good oils ...like olive oil. Let me know how that works for you. Check out Mark Sisson's book/website the Primal Blueprint for more info. He's great. Keep me posted!!

  • @MattieRobertsShow

    Thank you!

What's your opinion of Michael Thurmond's 6 Week Body Makeover? You eat 5-6 small meals a day. Either a protein/fruit combo or protein/carb combo. No dairy. No fats.

  • @allsummersingle no dairy sounds good, I bet the protein/veggie would work great :) is there that option? But i must say that fats ( the right kind, in the right amount) make the world go 'round! Try his thing and let me know how it works. M

  • sorry for the typos :/

  • Awesome vid Mattie. My question for you is: I'm 4'11" and my goal weight is 100 pounds (I'm 114 now). Im assuming eating only 1000 calories would be too low. My giessing sticking to a 1200 would be better? Do you have any suggestions for me. I've struggles with this last 15 lbs for too many years. I dont feel comfortable at this weight. I'm 38 now. Thank you-
