Only just learned that D'Angelo had an input on this song. As you all know Dilla did the main beat but D'Angelo did the beat Common starts rapping on.
yo yall please check this group called Good Vocation...i put it on videos like this because we are being ourselves...no trap, no sex songs, none of that mainstream stuff....God, love, all that man check these dudes out...pure dopeness man please yall GOOD VOCATION IS NEXT COMING OUTTA CHICAGO PLEASE SHARE YALL SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THIS GROUP MAN THERE DOPE YALLL AND I THOUGH I HAD TO SHARE IT WIT THE WORLD
btw common made himself dilla just was king of the beat and their styles complemented each other so well common never was able to rebound in the public's eyes due to the fact that their work together could never be duplicated
@neffone77 how could you bring up no I.D. even it the same paragraph as J dilla ? or any other producer for that matter ? dilla could shit out a kanye , squirt out a no i.d while influencing and setting the bar far above the rest. .... R.I.P dilla dawg but your music will live forever .
@bigjoe8033 ... Nonsense!. And that's comin' from one of the biggest Dilla fans EVER. Com was killing shit way prior and got mad respect before he hooked up wit Dilla. Your sleepin on No I. D. ( Com's first producer and Kanye West's mentor ) somethin fierce... quite lame.
@bigjoe8033 Dilla was like 17yrs old and just starting to play on an MPC when Common dropped his first scorcher. ....and you were like 2 yrs old. Which sort of explains your comment.
@bummer2000 Commons 3 best albums are before many people really listened to him...Resurrection, One Day It'll All Make Sense, and Like Water For Chocolate.
@TheWorldsComplicated Gotta agree with you, man. For me--particularly because I actually play instruments--this album was his peak, and this was my favorite cut on the album. Everything he's done since then has actually been kind of disappointing to me. Every song on this album was GOOD! I'm not speaking as a so-called "hip-hop head"; I'm a FUNKATEER. It wasn't just about the "rhymes and the beats" for me; it was about the WHOLE PACKAGE...and he put it together here.
This is one of the best albums front to back, one of Common's Opus! Dilla blessed him and Com killed it!
