I find that quite a few KISS albums have their share of filler material. That being said they have never released an album that is complete sh!t. Each album has at least 4 good songs on it.
@calicojohncash Buying a record that price in 1985 for that price was cool. Almost doubled w/ double LPs like Alive, Alive II and even Alive III in 1993.
80's music was awesome. It was about partying, having fun, and feeling good about being alive. No political overtones, it was just entertainment. unlike music today...
@glynnracing79 for one, Carnival of Souls was a great album. it wasn't their greatest album, but it's still an awesome record. it was more heavy metal than rock, much like Revenge, but KISS fans wouldn't reject an album. so YOU'RE obviously not a KISS fan.
And even is Paul WAS gay, which i doubt 100%, what's wrong with that? he puts out fantastic music and does what he loves. which is more than im sure anyone here on youtube could say about you.
@DarknessManiac listen up cum dumpster, carnival of souls was kiss version of a grunge album.if YOU were a kiss fan you would know that.and it was nothing like revenge.and if kiss fans wouldnt reject a kiss album they please tell me why no one bought carnival of souls?it didnt even chart.and i never said it was wrong for paul to be a pole smokers.just said that i think he is.paul did write some great music.oh wait,it was ace and vinnie that wrote most to all of kiss best songs.
If you think that their best songs were written by Ace then you must not like KISS very much, because he wrote very few songs. His guitar work and solos though are what make KISS sound 1000% better.
I understood what you meant, what I said was that you must not be a fan of KISS if you think that, because Ace was on the first 10 KISS albums and only has 14 writing credits, of which the most popular ones are "Cold Gin", "Parasite" and "Shock Me". All the classic KISS songs, and the ones still being played on tour, were written by Gene and Paul, not by Ace
Ace and Vinnie wrote "most to all of Kiss best songs"?????? I guess that you aren't much of a Kiss fan then. Ace wrote only 3 classics from his first time in the band, and Vinnie wrote maybe 5 or 6 classics from Creatures, Lick it up and Revenge. Yes Vinnie help CO-WRITE great songs, but hardly "ALL". Still a very small percentage
A LOT of hard rock/metal acts dressed ridiculous circa 85-88. Bands/acts that normally looked "normal" for metal such as KISS, Judas Priest, Ozzy, Queensryche, etc all dabbled in trying to look fashionable. What they ultimately did was make themselves look like drag queens or cartoon characters. Fortunately, all of the above dropped their silly wardrobes and went back to just rocking!
They aren't dressed up like drag queens. It was the 80s. That was the look then. Watch Metal: A Headbanger's Journey. Dee Snider explains it perfectly in the bit about hair metal.
Uh, Gene's bass WAS kinda pink-ISH... remember, this was his "I wanna look like Paul Stanley" period.... that hircut may be even worse than his 'do today....
Totally agree; I'm sure this image is what Gene referred to when he mentioned that he "looked like something he had F$%?#+ the night before". I like "Crazy Nights" a lot more too, but "Asylum" Rocks better than Faster Pussycat et al.
Bro...that was the shit back then, the prices of albums. No shit, when stores would have sales they'd be $4.99 or $5.99 brand new! Double albums were anywhere from $12-$14.99
@gfschoone Correction: Paul had the biggest "hits", like I was made for lovin you, Heaven's on fire, Detroit rock city, Lick it up, Crazy crazy nights, Love gun, Strutter etc. I think Gene has at least the same number of great songs, like Rock and roll all night, I love it loud, Deuce, God of thunder, Calling Dr Love, Parasite, Plaster Caster, Sweat Pain, Radioactive, War Machine, Saint and sinner, Watchin you, We are one etc.
Without Paul Stanleys Vocals Kiss defo suck

They dressed like that because it was the 80's! It was very hot those days to dress like woman, especially hair bands looked outrageous.

"Check out Gene Simmonds hot pink guitar."
If I may...
1. It's Simmons, not Simmonds.
2. Gene's bass is not a guitar.
3. The color on your clip sucks, that bass is really dark red, it only looks pink on your shitty clip.
4. The condition of the clip is no reflection upon you tho. Nothing personal.
