I think it was bad luck and not intention. There was no time to think about it. I would say it was about 0.7 seconds (frome the last tried punch from Dirrell to Abraham). This is nothing in the heat of the moment. E.g. in round 10 Dirrell had his head that low. Imagine Dirrell would have got such a KO-hit then. Though DQ is the right decision even if it was not on intention. It would be wrong if a boxer wins with such a punch. But in my eyes Abraham lost no reputation!!

This tournament is great for boxing. Hopefully it will be able to showcase some of the great European boxing talent for my fellow Americans who aren't up to date. I honestly can't see anyone but Kessler winning this.

I talked to Ward's gymmate Ray Craig just the other day and he says Andre's gonna tear Kessler up with the angles and explosions off both the punches and the footwork. Said Kessler's high mark was the Calzaghe fight.
And when you look at it, Kessler really doesn't have any head movement,; pretty much straight up and down. When you think about it he DOES have perfect kind of style for Ward to exploit. No doubt though it'll his toughest opponent to date.
My first round predictions: Froch defeats Dirrell via split decision; Taylor arguably defeats Abraham but doesn't get the decision. Kessler unanimously decisions Ward. In the finals I see Froch and Kessler, with Andre Dirrell as my third choice. Abraham, moving up from middleweight, is too short, in my opinion; plus he waits too long in a fight before kicking his offense into gear, which won't work against the very elite. Ward and Taylor could be the biggest surprises in the tourney.
Dirrell The 'Matrix', in my opinion, employed the tactics that should have secured him victory. He landed the better quality punches, while Froch had a really difficult time landing the blows that he wanted to land with. If boxing is truly about hitting and not getting hit, Dirrell should be the new champion. I have read comments about how the 'Matrix' ran, but styles make fights, don't they. His strategy was to force Froch to come to him, and to frustrate him. Dirrell achieved aim.
If Taylor can get his stamina issure straight he could be a force. He put Froch down and outclassed him until he punked out at the end. They should have showed Abraham KO Khoren Gevor that was the best.
@mrBandG Miranda isn't the same because Pavlik beat the shit out of him for 7 rounds. He lost something in that fight, because it was a terrible beating. Abraham knocked him out after that. Plus, Abraham's first fight with Miranda was kind of a robbery. Miranda beat the crap out of him and broke his jaw, yet Abraham still won because MIranda was penalized for low-blows and headbutts, even though point deductions weren't necessary. Miranda has HUGE power, but was never that good anyway.

Dirrell is fast but needs to step up his game.Less running, bigger cojones!
Froch needs the same luck as in the Dirrell fight, in order to win the supersix.

I cant believe people think Froch can beat Arthur Abraham. lol. What level of retard do you have to be to think that way. Someone mentioned Arthur not being able to "stand" against the elite... lol you're retarded too... he is the ELITE dumb ass. Kessler will beat Ward even though I think Ward is an AMAZING fighter..i'll be going for Ward actually... Froch and Dirrell are as good as dead...that's for sure.. I just cant wait to see the knock outs, that's all i wait for.

i think froch does have a chance at beating abraham. but only if he can take his best shot and still come forward. (I don't think any1 can honestly). but if he can and he doesn't stop throwing all those ugly punches he'll outwork arthur and win a decision. that fight depends on froch's chin

I talked to Ward's gymmate Ray Craig just the other day and he says Andre's gonna tear Kessler up with the angles and explosions off both the punches and the footwork. Said Kessler's high mark was the Calzaghe fight.
And when you look at it, Kessler really doesn't have any head movement,; pretty much straight up and down. When you think about it he DOES have perfect kind of style for Ward to exploit. No doubt though it'll his toughest opponent to date.

My first round predictions: Froch defeats Dirrell via split decision; Taylor arguably defeats Abraham but doesn't get the decision. Kessler unanimously decisions Ward. In the finals I see Froch and Kessler, with Andre Dirrell as my third choice. Abraham, moving up from middleweight, is too short, in my opinion; plus he waits too long in a fight before kicking his offense into gear, which won't work against the very elite. Ward and Taylor could be the biggest surprises in the tourney.

Dirrell The 'Matrix', in my opinion, employed the tactics that should have secured him victory. He landed the better quality punches, while Froch had a really difficult time landing the blows that he wanted to land with. If boxing is truly about hitting and not getting hit, Dirrell should be the new champion. I have read comments about how the 'Matrix' ran, but styles make fights, don't they. His strategy was to force Froch to come to him, and to frustrate him. Dirrell achieved aim.

If Taylor can get his stamina issure straight he could be a force. He put Froch down and outclassed him until he punked out at the end. They should have showed Abraham KO Khoren Gevor that was the best.

@mrBandG Miranda isn't the same because Pavlik beat the shit out of him for 7 rounds. He lost something in that fight, because it was a terrible beating. Abraham knocked him out after that. Plus, Abraham's first fight with Miranda was kind of a robbery. Miranda beat the crap out of him and broke his jaw, yet Abraham still won because MIranda was penalized for low-blows and headbutts, even though point deductions weren't necessary. Miranda has HUGE power, but was never that good anyway.
