It is Tibetan bonpo which is the root of tibetan buddhism... please try it before you judge based on what you know... Bruce lee said believe half of what you see and nothing you hear.... experience with an open heart then be as judgmental as you wish.... my knowledge is not buddhist.. it is from the black khan which were the advisors of ghengis and kubli khan... wu clan.... as for overlap, just be happy.....
In this rather complex mudra, the ring fingers of both hands are erected back-to- back; both middle fingers are crossed horizontally across the palms with the index fingers curved backwards to press upon their tips; both little fingers are crossed horizontally across the palms with the thumbs extended to press upon their tips. This mudra depicts the tiered and tapering structure of Mt. Meru and its surrounding universe. mountains (edge of the universe).
I believe this is the offering mudra... What does it do? Ity represents the pure universe in Buddhist cosmology and is offered to the Buddha's as a mental offering. The fingers in the middle represent Mount Meru and that is all i know sorry. This offering is often made with the prayer beads wrapped around the mudra.
its actually a mudra you do while visualising offering the universe, to either your Guru, or during meditation a visualized Deity. the fingers in the middle represent Mount Meru, and the other fingers and thumbs make up the 4 continents, which is what this universe was believed to be like by ancient Buddhists and hindus. We (humanity) apparently live on rose apple island, or Jambudvipa, which faces the blue side of mount Meru, hence our blue sky.

This is mandala offering mudra. What do you mean by "Tibetan Mind seal"? There is no such thing in Buddhism!

@sschaula apparently I think it helps to exude the "energy" while you're reciting mantras

@sschaula apparently, I think mudra helps to exude the "energy" while you're reciting mantras. It's like the antenna.
