  • isnt this a toyota camry engine?

  • Why does it have the rev counter made up to 9000 if rev limiter is at 7000?

  • @derbigpr500 why does the speedometer go to 320?

  • @derbigpr500 race mode most likely.

  • Sure it's not the loudest engine on earth, but it's still much louder than other cars on the road and it gets 32 miles per gallon which is amazing for a car that can go 0-60 in 4.9 seconds and upto like 162 miles per hour. :) I want it, reminds me of a baby Lamborghini. (I can't afford a Lambo, so this will have to do lol)

  • i want own this car 1 time in my life :o

  • lol pr le temp

  • fantastic looks, outside AND inside ! the engine is also super-reliable, great sound and great performance plus you get the excellent lotus handling :-)

    its a dreamcar !!

  • I would sell my family for a lotus car....

    ( :p )

  • its always a bright idea to drive as fast as possble in the rain =]

  • why lhd???

  • I don't like red dashboard lights, does anyone?

    the music is so boring!

  • i'm getting mine this Summer in isotope green :D i'm so very excited!!!!

  • omg i love this car

  • Hopefully no sticky gas pedal!

  • That windshield wiper would annoy the living fuck out of me

  • I ordered mine yesterday!!!!

  • I missed manual shifts...

  • yuppie mother fucker

  • @CaptainNensho Just Die already CaptainNensho

  • how much is that car ? most people said that, that car is a so comfortable.

  • @galardo1995 i think 70 grand

  • Backseat is pointless, rip it out and take some weight off the car.

  • ok using a converter its like 4000 us dollars how is that expensive

  • How strange.

I would have thought the car would very lightweight, but at 1382Kg its actualy a bit heavier than by very humble 2000 Nissan Primera P11-144 1.8l saloon that weights 1366Kg (its the value on my registration ID).

I'm surprised, i thought it would have weighted somewhere around 1100Kg tops!

  • @00Resev

Newer models of cars tend to get heavier due to them being designed and constructed bigger.

  • anyone notice the no smoking sign 0:14 ?

  • beatiful music

    beatiful car

    and lots of cv !!

    what else

  • beatiful car

    beatiful music

    beatiful

  • looks little like the f458 Italia

  • The top gear dude was right. the reflection on the gauges are horrible

  • is it just me or does the car tell u to shift when u need to

  • Are their faster cars than the Evora? Yes. Better track cars? Sure. More expensive or less expensive ones that do one thing or another better than the Evora. Of course.

None of that matters because even other exotics look like...cars. The Evora looks like that fantastical diecast car we all played with as kids. The one with the outragous curves no real car would have, that we made "vroomvroom" sounds to and put into skids with our fingers. Lotus went and built THAT car, and I'm in love.

  • @starstarstar42 You should look into a career in marketing.

  • Usually I hate music in car vids, but this song fits nicely in this clip. Like an old James Bond tune mixed in ambient style.

Oh, and the Evora looks and sounds great

  • i dont like its back,kind jaguarish

and i dont like its smiling front grill

  • fucking frenchman

  • @SaKuLification why mother fucker ?

  • #WIN

  • was'nt that speed illegal to drive in Scotland?

  • i would shoot myself driving that.... in MY opinion.. windshield wiper doenst make sense... 0-60 i HEARD is like what 5? around there. and they added weight. they shoulda made it more comfortable, not add backseats. and better engine. but thats what i think

  • I want one

  • is that instrument cluster from Audi?

  • Lotuses are getting heavy. Where is the 590Kg car I used to love?

  • @CriticalHammer007 I don't think they'll abandon the Elise or Exige anytime soon :] This is just a new frontier. And relatively speaking it is a few hundred pounds lighter than most 2+2 cars at the minimum.

  • @Azraeille No you're right the Evora is a larger heavier class of car aimed at bringing lotus back into the sports car arena, cayman, boxter obvious rivals. I just wish it had a little more poke. Roll on Clubsport....

  • @edomloge Agreed and Agreed. I was honestly hoping for something a bit more aggressive too. Or lighter :] One of the two. 200lbs less is nice but it just doesn't say "Lotus"

  • $80k, 162 top speed, Toyota Camry engine, "light" yet weighs as much as a bigger Spyker. I don't know, things don't add up in favor for it. It probably has excellent handling and that's why people will buy it.

  • never heard about the fact that "REVVING isn't so good for the engine??"

and...come on! every single driver with more than 12 neurons knows that you won't go faster revving the engine in every single gear....

get as closer as you can than change gear fast, not as a dumbass pushing the throttle all the way...

  • great sound!

  • i love wat lotus did

    this car is amazing

  • what is the background music?

  • its called "london in the rain" by variety lab. check "Hotel costas quatre" by stephane Pompougnac, the song is on that record.

  • its more beautifull than a porsche!

  • Hell yea.

    And not as common.

  • Hey nice castle!

  • toyota avalon engine ! sweet !

same engine in the Lexus es 350

same in the lexus is350 but in the is350 it has over 300bhp! i wish they used the is350 engine with more power with this evora !

  • the one used in the IS350 has fuel injection, while the Evora dont use it.

  • hahaha that single wiper is going mental

  • for real, I'd commit sucide before the end of the ride.

  • thats the only kinda (sports) car ill drive, nothing like going through the gears. love the car, also love that the engine will last 200k miles

  • I'd love to see this car race against a Honda NSX which has the same 280HP. Great car!

  • lmfaoo

  • So, is this car worth the money or not?

  • That sounds a lot like the VTEC in my fiancée's Honda. I really love everything about this car, even the windshield wiper makes me smile.

  • i think this has a Toyota Camry engine, actually.

  • Camry and Aurion are the same car. Aurion is the Australian version. (We have both here) Different looks more power theres even a TRD version. Goes alright in a straight line thats about it! hahaha. I think hmfy ment to say Aurion rather than the old model before it. Avalon

  • Anyone know the track and artist title?

  • I like London in the rain by Blossom Dearie

  • what`s the name of the song ? pls

  • Yeah that's europe alright, shite weather and all...

  • Europe gets rain but not shite weather compaerd to hurricanes, sunamis, earthquakes and tornadoes. Now that IS shite weather compared to a little rain

  • Yeah we get really crappy weather too, snow and ice, then they put that damn sand and salt over the roadways... Not good for Sports Cars... And just tonight a damn pickup truck threw a rock at my Mustang's windshield nearly cracking it...

Fuck I hate rain it tears up the roads and loosens the pavement...

  • sounds a tad like vtec.

  • beautiful car; looks like an Aston Martin mated with a Ferrari.

  • has the fj engine?

  • fcuking toyota camry v6 engine, very nice

  • at least we know it'll be a reliable engine =)

  • @blaum5 the 1.8ltr. Toyota Engine is more then reliable... the Rover-engines had their Issues...

  • @blaum5 Or it will wont stop running until it rear ends what it front of you no matter how hard you slam on the brakes.

  • it looks corvettish

  • Not in my eyes... =\

  • yeah its been out in the uk for a couple of months now

  • it costs £47,995 in sterling thats bog standard theres about 4 different upgrade options e.g sports, comfort

  • That's nice and all but I'd rather have an Exige. I would have another car to take people around in. The backseats are for people 5' and under.

  • Comment removed

  • I heard that this car was going to be $75,000, without all the extras (rear seats, SAT NAV, nice seats, etc). If thats true than Lotus must be out of their mind.

  • It ain't going to be $75K. Expect a minimum of $100K with the dealer markups and gouging.

  • it costs about 70,000 est.

  • yea,, its expensive.

  • did anyone notice the rev limiter :(

  • mmmm...lum bum

  • I'm getting 1!

  • looks like a tesla in the front and an elise in the back. I miss the esprit

  • that's exactly what i though.

  • 02:30 It is even more visible. Strange.

    What do you think ?

  • 02:18 It looks like the driver's leg is touching the gearshift. That's not a really good thing, in my opinion. And the guy doesn't look big or tall.

    I hope to be wrong.

  • Hmm... this is exactly the problem with the Elise, which is set up for drivers with long arms aand short legs. I've had to modify mine to make it driveable. I haven't sat in an Evora yet, but I hope that Lotus haven't made the same mistake again...

  • sound very crunch crispy

    i love it

  • baby gallardos!

  • their curves suggest baby ferraris

  • why left hand drive when hes driving on left hand side of road? i thought this was scotland? no rhd?

  • sounds soo good. oh yeah, and the is350 doesnt make 300+hp

  • uh yes, the IS350 does have 300+hp. 306hp to be exact. check out the Lexus website before trying to correct someone.

  • it looks like a lotus...

  • blind ass, lol

  • r u serious?

  • j avais des doutes sur cette evora et surtou sur son moteur toyota mais semble finalement vraiment bien.

  • This Toyota 3.5 L V6 puts well over 300 hp in the Lexus IS350. I wonder why Lotus watered it down?

  • maybe to reduce CO figures for the lauch model, as they brag they built sport eco cars ... anyway 280 bhp are enough, 4.9 secondes 0-60 is just fantastic

  • maybe Lotus re-engineered the engine to have more torque to increase acceleration at the expense of top speed?

  • Could be. Either way...it's got plenty of power.

  • firstmusic00, Lotus did not water down the engine, the IS350 has the direct injection version (2GR-FSE) of the engine producing around 310hp but can be tuned up to 340hp i believe. Lotus uses the 280hp version that's not direct injected (2GR-FE). Reason being because the direct injected version doesn't fit well in Lotus's mid-engine setup. Toyota and Lotus are currently working on this so hopefully we'll see the more potent version around late 10' early 11'

  • Yes....I was fully aware that the IS had direst injection. Just a little suprised that Lotus chose not to use that version of the 2GR...that's all.

  • Probably because they want something to build on...theyll just add a s/c or something like they have done in the past.

  • Yeah...I had thought of that. There probably will be some sort of "hotter" version....so they have to leave some room to play.

  • Pas mal mon Supervroum!

Ca a l´air de bien pousser cet engin...

  • ça va on se fait pas chier à ce que je voix =)

  • Cool shift lights!!

  • three lights ***

    It's time to shift !
