.... sooo.... If Lucas edits them... everyone goes crazy and rages all over the internet. Some fan makes even more dramatic changes and everyone cheers it up?

If Lucas had done this you would all be like "HOW HE DARES!! FUCK HIM"

And if this guy had made the changes of the Special Edition and so on, you would be like "THOSE ARE BETTER, THEY RESPECT MORE OF THE ORIGINAL WORK"

@TrapnestShinigami Well, to each his/her own. Personally I like most of these changes. Adywan's version tends to "mesh" better with the original tone of the film than Lucas' alterations. No awkward CGI Jabba scene, no ronto ass blocking the camera, no illogical "Greedo shoots first/at all" scene to make Han a better "role model," etc.

To be fair though, I don't like Adywan's take on the lightsaber duel. The overly-dramatic RotS music just doesn't fit at all.

He shows more passion, love and integrity for Star Wars than Lucas does. It was the success of the Original Trilogy that allowed him to make what he makes now and to do what he does.

All the decisions are smart and respectful of the original.

Lucas should hire Adywan and hand over ALL of the Star Wars footage to him, and that means all of it, everything shot, including that which previously ended up on the cutting room floors, and let him go to work.

He won't do that though, because Lucas has gone over to the dark side.

Then again, he could make money by doing this, re-releasing the movies again to add to his billions, so it may appeal to him. But I doubt his ego would let that happen.

Seeing the new Vader Obi fight, I cant get behind the EPIII music. I dont think the scene was as momentous enough, and the fighting style certainly wasnt up to the task. Its only one misfire out of a few of an otherwise spectacular re-edit.

they wanted to show Darth Vader as a tragic character not a villian so they decided to make the prequels( Episodes 1,2 and 3) and wanted to have enough technology to do so which is why they came out later

well in in 1977 it was not called a new hope it was just called star wars it was only untill 1997 the movies were name episode 4,5,6 hope this helps

the episode numbers came in way before that... Episode IV showed up in 1980 when A New Hope was being re-released, ESB and ROTJ always had the Episode number

Just finished watching it and WOW. Absolutely PERFECT. The colour correction was AMAZING. Loved the 'fixed' edit at Obi-Wan's home. The edits for the Lightsaber duel and the final space battle just made it even more exciting than the original. I cannot believe how many mistakes were left in the 'remastered' 2004 DVD. THX1138 Special Ed was done right and now thanks to you so has Star Wars. BRILLIANT.

Love the updated graphics in the Rebel briefing room, but if I may be so bold as to suggest one thing;

I'd like to see the console (that Artoo gets plugged into at the Yavin IV base) get totally updated.

The Death Star graphic is perfect, just the 'screen' and controls need some tinkering.

I'd like to see what you could do to the Jabba/Han scene as well.

The enhancements are phenomenal and so beautifully rendered.

The planet below the Death Star is just astounding - reminds me of the prequels.

The TIE's wizzing past and even the blinking cantina aliens just adds so much to it!

This is probably the most ambitious Star Wars 'Fan Edit' ever, and the immensely talented Adywan has enhanced this to a far better creation than Lucasfilm did for their DVD releases... He is currently working on his 'Empire Revisited' now, and that will no doubt be colour-corrected and enhanced for the better too.

I'm sorry but I really think its time Star Wars was just left alone. It's been redone, revamped, rehauled, reversed, remastered and reimagined to death! The only thing left to do now is do a Star Trek/ James Bond and just remake the Original Trilogy with a new cast! Better yet - use digital face mapping to put the original cast's faces onto new actors!

Having seen it, all I can say is well done that guy. THE best version yet.

I would have still liked to see the Dantooine report turned into a hologram and the Jabba scene actually fixed so Solo doesn't stamp on his tail and the colour correct (here the scene is removed). Just to keep Boba Fett in episode 4. But other wise A+++
