And i hate when people say that these songs are only liked by boomers
i am 15 and I love the Kinks/Ray Davies as much as and boomer
i just saw him at the Tower in Philly...it was as close as i will ever get to seeing the Kinks...i just wish i could travel back thirty years and see one of the greatest and without a doubt one of the most under rated rock bands of all time....The Kinks
i saw him in LA and you are right he is one of the greatest performers of there generation and he is a very intersting person if you talk to him in person
@letsgoflyers92 your pretty smart at the tender age of 15. i can listen to this music over and over and honestly i cant say that about all the other kinds of music that i also like. ray davies just gets better and better with age and one of these days i will have the pleasure of seeing him in concert and maybe even meeting him in person..i can dream, cant i?
Watching this video.. .and the one shot of Ray Davies doing this song back in '77, it's evident that time takes its toll on the body. The hairline recedes and the face changes. . .but that voice has remained as strong and clear now as it was when the Kinks hit the stage back in the '60s. I love this song. . it's my alltime favorite. Time will never change it. Ray's a genius.
It takes us back to good ol' days eh Jayne? The Kinks were a very big part of my youth and an integral part of the British Invasion. . a time when music was truly worth listening to. I'm glad that I came along when this phenomenal music was starting out. I'm still smiling. .after all these years.

Hell yes. I took my 10 year old to see this - one song and he was hooked!

Don't ever lose that open mind. Like what you like and the hell with the crowd. This shows independent thinking and a good sense of "self".
At 15 that is quite a trait indeed. Ray Davies would be proud of you.

Good for you, young'un! I saw them multiple times, and they were great, even when they sucked!

The '77 footage shows Ray choking up towards the end while singing and I just want to hug him. This was nice to see hime again.

Very well put. And when he sings, he's young again because he's doing what he loves the best..."Don't forget to dance, no, no, no,
Don't forget to smile."
