Well honestly these performers are human. It is very daunting to not be able just to go outside for 2 seconds. Even if your just taking the garbage out and your hair is a mess the press will make it into something unscrupulous like," star losing hair" or "drug addiction wins". It's hard because you really are a prisoner and I don't blame her at all for just ignoring the press. Seriously, she was nice and even took photos with the fans while shopping. Most celebs wouldn't even do that much.
