  • shouldve used some nonstick spray for your poached eggs

  • I've found an alternative to that awful Egg Genie poaching tray. I use a little plastic food container. It's 3.5" square by 2" deep. I spray it with Pam and put in 3 extra large eggs. They poach perfectly and slide out of the container effortlessly. Of course the eggs are bunched together, but they are easy to cut and separate once cooked. Sure beats trying to scoop them out of those little tray compartments! I don't know why I didn't think of this before.

  • You can also put some salt into the water to stop it from cracking the egg.

  • Use pam or butter for the one which got stuck.

  • U have to turn the tray upside down to get them out

  • you should have lubed the poached eggs

  • awwww, just fry the damn eggs already! lol

  • Just a suggestion, for the poached eggs it might have worked better if you had lubed the little tray things...

  • Sorry for the double post.

  • Jack, thanks for the great video. Looking at it, the soft-boiled was a disaster in my opinion. I know it was OK for you, but when my wife makes me soft-boiled eggs, the albumen has turned white but is still runny, and the yolk is like a marble. Pop that marble into your mouth and bite, and you'll get delicous, runny yolk all over your tongue. It's heavenly, Jack.

And she does it with only a basin and a plate, in less than 5 minutes.

  • Commercial please?

  • @maxkiller1100 eggs?

  • Your mother was a smart woman.

  • jack you forgot the pan on the eeg so the eeg is not mest o

  • i saw a bed bath and beyond here in Canada :)

  • Should be able to just spray that bitch with pam and those poached eggs will slide right out

  • My mom had this like 20 years ago from Braun

  • lol iv'e spent all morning watching these videos and now I'm going to have eggs for brekkie :)

  • is that water u use for the poached egg ? shoudn't it be vinegar ?

  • U Should have tested it on Medium Boiled Eggs Bitch

  • in Australia we call it an eggo egg

  • whats the eggs shaped container on the side of the base for?

  • Who can't just use a saucepan?

  • i think i know how to fix the egg poacher like they should make it have removble sides so u can use a spachula to get them out of the tray

P.S. im only 12 and i love to cook

  • Maybe you should have buttered the poached egg tray :/

  • @ 7:50 funny

  • heres a tip for pealing eggs, if you roll a boiled egg along a counter surface it breaks the shell almost perfectly for you to just pull it off in one go if you do it right:)

  • it doesn't matter how well the product works this thing is the biggest unitasker i have ever seen it's just not worth buying.

  • Just sit the poached egg tray upsidown for a while they can't hold on that long XD my hunger will triumph.

  • I've found the best way to remove poached eggs from the tray is with a small pointy plastic spoon, like the type found at Tommy's Hamburgers in L.A.

  • @cyrix01 sporks?? spoons + forks + sporks.

  • I must be a moron cuz I can't figure out how to use the measuring cup!! There's a solid egg, an egg in half and an egg in thirds. What do I use for hard boiled, and the other possibilities?

  • @mzmemo your instruction book should tell you what that means. I don't remember that on mine. I thought mine had words.

  • @jakatak69 The instruction book is no help. I've read everything I have on this and nothing explains the cup. I gather from what you did on the video that the solid egg is hard boiled, the "halved egg" is a medium soft-boiled egg and the "egg in thirds" is a soft-boiled egg, but I am guessing - nothing is labeled. Why should I have to guess that an "egg in thirds" symbol is supposed to mean "soft-boiled"?

  • if you sprayed the poaching tray with cooking tray the eggs would come out perfect

  • It looks like a fucking incubator lol

  • i have that plate :D

  • Wow, I can't believe you gave this thing a thumbs up. The poached eggs were awful, and even if you did get them out without breaking them they are an awkward shape. For soft/hard boiled eggs I don't know why I would want this thing to take up room in my kitchen when I can just use a timer. A tiny timer, that magnetically attaches to my range hood takes up no room and can time hundreds of things - not just my eggs.

  • i live in CA too were do you live in CA PLEASE ANSWER !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheresNoAinApple i live in the OC

  • @TheresNoAinApple i can stalk both of you

  • Comment removed

  • i love the egg genie, but why no on off button?

  • Maybe put sum oil before puttibg in the egg?

  • lol ima kid but i love watching this show so i subbed

  • What if you were to spray the poaching tray with a bit of cooking spray? It would probably come out rather well then.

  • @nick2582 yea it does i have this thing at home great for a quick breakfest before i head 2 work great product

  • i wouldnt buy this

if you warm eggs up in plastic your getting all kinds of chemicals getting in your eggs

  • i love this episodes it helps me know if im not wasting my money

  • for the poached egg tray, a quick spray of Pam or some other butter/margarine on the inside and your poached eggs pop out and are perfect!

  • do the pasta pro cooker & perfect brownie

  • I used one of these at home and it blew up halfway through, plastic eggy shards everywhere

  • @mugsieboy102 Wow. did you leave it on with no water? What happened? any photos?

  • @jakatak69 no this happened quite a few months back and i only watched the review today, we followed the instructions to the letter, however i'm in the UK and we thought the power adapter might have had something to do with it (as the product was bought in america as a present)

  • @mugsieboy102 did u forget to poke the hole in the eggs???

just wonderin, that couldve caused it.

  • @mugsieboy102 You should pierce the egg on the egg tray steel piercing pin first as shown in the instruction book Luc

  • You got a grease the poached egg pan

  • you should of put a little bit butter around the edges of the egg poacher

  • @mattmax11 sorta defeats the purpose of poaching a egg doesnt it!

  • @mmiguy2306 how does putting a little butter around the edges defeat the purpose of poaching and egg

  • @mattmax11 Dude do you even know what poaching a egg means lol it means you cook with water so you DONT have to use butter or oils to cook it

  • @mmiguy2306 i was talking about putting butter around the egg genie's egg poacher attachment retard

  • @mattmax11 dude are you just dumb or what>? one of the main point of poaching eggs is NOT having to use butter.. so if you have to use butter to even get the egg out doesn't that defeat the purpose? you clearly know nothing about cooking!

  • @mmiguy2306 i just fucking said the butter was for the egg genie's egg poacher attachment

  • @mattmax wow dude your a idiot hahahaha!

  • or just put your eggs in a pot of water...

    6min for soft

    8 min for medium

    10min for hard boiled.

    its so easy

  • Your videos amuse me, i like when people try products and then talk about their flaws ecen though they look awsome in the commercial! Good Job!

  • btw what does the little egg cup on the side of the thing do?

  • @angelpichu1 noting that I could see.

  • maybe when it gets poached put a little oil in it??

  • you do AWESOME reviews! you deserve more views on ur videos!

  • what exactly is a poached egg anyway?

  • @angelpichu1 somewhat like a soft boiled egg but instead of boiling it u crack the egg into boiling water and use a spoon to push the egg whites so that it covers the egg yolk COMPLETELY so when u cut into it the yolk flows out if u dun cover the yolk completely when u take it out the yolk will flow out

  • @angelpichu1 poaching an egg is either steaming or boiling. Cooking an egg using water and not fat / oil. That is poaching.

  • cool vids im subbed :D

  • U GUYS U GUYS OMG U GUYS HES TESTING THE NINJA IN NEW YEARS!!!!! I KNO THIS CAUSE I ASKED HIM ON OTHER VID! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • Great video jack! With the poached eggs, haha, all you needed was some PAM to spray the tray and you were good.

  • I find that peeling them bit by bit under cold running water really helps make the shell come off clean without ripping pieces of egg white off :D

  • iphone? the jaga is the same but with call, misscall and main button!

  • with the poached eggs ur meant to grease them up with marge, butter some kingd of fat and then u losen the sides with a thin knife then turn upside down should slide right out

  • @Deeboyy123 yes. you are absolutely right. I really blew that one, huh?

  • when ur poaching it try greasing it with butter so it wont stick, then turn it upside down and tap the bottom and c if they fall out

  • yea the poaching tray doesnt work living in a small apartment i cant spend money on dunkin donoughts every day so this is a great product love it i eat my 2 hard boiled eggs every morning then im off 2 work

  • you review really good things

I actually WANT to watch these

so how did you get so popular

    PLEASE answer!

  • @coleisaphosphate My show grew to the size it is today because I kept doing what people wanted to see. People don't cook elaborate recipes like on TV. They just watch it and wish they could. I do recipes that are easy, simple, inexpensive and the majority of people love.

  • @jakatak69 awesome thanks

    I love the show

the product reviews are my favourite, I would say :P

  • Go to 4:22 to skip the message.

  • question jack about the poached egg

doesnt it say in the instructions that you had to put something in the tray in ?

  • @d3athbRinger sorry. I'm a guy and didn't read the directions. I should have greased or oiled or sprayed it first. My bad. LOL

  • @jakatak69 im a guy and use it before but i still read the intructions but im not a full grown up man so i have tobecause i freaked my mom out that i cooked the egg perfectly.

  • @d3athbRinger lol i dunno if it does cause we dont have the egg genie in england it was a question :P but thanks for the reply

  • 7:45 looks horrible lol

  • Jack, where's the video where you did the hard-boiled egg peeling trick -- where you cracked the egg on the top and bottom and blew the egg out of the shell?

  • @MooseOfReason i think it was on the vegetarian appetizers episode. I can't remember. LOL

  • @jakatak69 Yeah, that's the one. I'm watching it now. You were making deviled eggs. Thanks.

  • Definitely needs more Pam or other cooking spray or olive oil.

  • tip....you should put a little bit of coocking spray or less water..lets say 3

  • hmm. you can try adding cooking spray while making poach eggs.

  • Jack, at 0:46 I was getting really worried what you were about to pull out there XD

  • lol bed bath and beyond?!

  • This is made for idiots. How is this better than a pot?

  • awesome sauce

  • that works well my uses it for hardboiled egg pretty cool lots for easter and for deviled eggs for thanksgiving

  • Always like your intro's Jack .................

  • I still think this is a waste of money, i have my egg cooker which doesnt require electricity at all, cost only around 2 bucks, just put your egg in, pour in boiling water and set your eggs in and wait for the boiling water to drain and you are done.

  • o thanks for clarifying how to remove an egg from a shell i dont think i would be able to handle such a thing and the little hole in the plastic dont tell them not to put there hand there if there dumb enough to do that then they will learn theyre lesson

  • sorry but ure retarded ure trying to take the poached eggs out with a spatula thats obviously way to wide. try to use a fork next time

  • you sure have alot of knifes xD

  • Try using pam on the poaching tray?

  • I have the same knifes as yuu xD The six star ones

  • Spray the tray with non stick spray and when u want it out flip it over onto a plate.

  • spray the pan with pam lol!!

  • You remind me a bit of Father Grigori from Half Life 2. Except, you don't seem like the type to run around a zombie infested town shouting religious shermons and loving shotguns. Though, you have the "hilarious, fun to watch" part down. :D

  • @dudeaid I LOVE SHOTGUNS. :D

  • @jakatak69 ME TOOOOOO HAHA!

  • @jakatak69 ROFL

  • @dudeaid He looks really similar though. :D

  • @dudeaid you sound like my brother

  • Dude great vids!!

  • you shouldve used pam and the eggs would've slipped out fine.

  • jack... You have a hole in your egg?

  • all the single ladies?

  • i used a pot, water till it covered the eggs, and a timer. i then put 20 bucks worth of gas in my car.

  • hahaha "itl be funny when i mess up" haha best line ever

  • I have something similar, it's by Cuisinart, I think. It works really well, and I found that to get the poached eggs out, you just spray the tray with a bit of Pam, or according to my instructions, 'lightly butter' it. Then, they will slide right out. Personally, I just use water, and carefully slide a rubber spat around the edges. But if you ask me, you can only make a real poached egg with a pot of water.

Makes great soft and hard boiled, though.

  • COOL VIDEO

  • LOL Canada has bed bath and beyonds too

  • man, id love 2 be ur freind

  • *clicks subscribe*

  • Poached eggs should have a yolk that looks like it would be semi-runny, but is soft and firm at the same time. I know, it's confusing the way I described it, but it's the perfect poached egg.

  • These are the best food product reviews ever

  • why dont you just put a thin laywe on oil when you cook the last polish? egg?

    would'nt that help?

  • You could probably do subscriber milestone videos with special products

  • @cheat12code I'm thinking of doing a live episode for my 100th. I would stream in on Ustream.

  • you should put some oil before steam the eggs. This is what we do even when we use the tradition way to boil the egg in the bowl in Asia.

  • oil the tray Jack, i had the same problem, OIL!

  • hey jack you should spray the poach tray with nonstick spray before so it will come out perfect

  • I heard from my aunt who is known for her deviled eggs and learned that never buy eggs the day you want to peel them. If you are planning on hard-boiled eggs, buy them 3-5 days in advance and let them stay in the fridge, then boil them and de-shelling should be easier. Have fun! I have not tested this theory yet.

  • @paatchen you need to test this and let me know. I will talk about it.

  • @jakatak69 It works way better!!!

  • works better if you crack it then soak it in ice water..

  • i love your show man... thanks

  • reveiw the gril daddy pro... u grill alot and i think you need it

  • can u reveiw the billy mays quick chop

  • Now that ya mention it, how 'bout you show us how to make deviled eggs. =)

  • I think you should have used a non-stick spray. Seems like common sense to me.

  • r u italian american?

  • I believe he is.

  • i think you spray it first

  • I think the tray would have worked better if you had oiled it... perhaps use butter for it as if you were baking, then they should slide out. I've done that for making eggs using microwave cookers and also poached. Helps with cleanup too. :-)

  • oil

    you need oil

  • oh yeah, do the new egg cracker thing that cracks eggs without the shell in it, leme check whats its caled. ok, its called the E Z Cracker

  • i will look into the E Z Cracker.

  • lol dont use a rubber spatula to try and remove the eggs

  • ?????????

  • Can u do scrambeled eggs

  • Spray Pam into the tray before you crack the eggs in and your good to go!

  • please people no spamming him on the no spam thing

  • they look good yum

  • Thank you for your review it was really helpful!... I needed to see how it was done!.. I did bought it, it's great since I won't make a mess in my kitchen wen doing breakfast.

PS: This guy should have his videos send to the Food Network, his way better and charismatic than half their network! lol

  • your awesome

  • Dude, you should open a reastraunt.

  • oh my god people get a life, he's apologized for no spraying spam on them in like 3 other vids!!

  • 0MikeBanks0, you make me laugh. I want to spray spam more often. Thanks for having my back. :D

  • imma go make some leftovers. yum yummy tummy

  • Spray Pam before you put the eggs in.

  • hopefully it slides out

  • I think you are supposed to dig your spoon or spatula on the sides but don't take it out and kind of turn it upside down and tap but then again it was stuck

  • What exactly is the point of this thing? Is it that hard to fill a little gravy pan with water and time the egg for a few minutes?

  • Etimos, the eggs just turn out consistently better with the Genie. They are always easy to peel, too. Maybe it's because the eggs are actually steamed instead of boiled.

The little poacher tray works also works great, although sometimes it can be tricky getting the eggs out.

  • Well, it's something to be considered I suppose, though personally I'd just by a steamer and an egg-timer, because you can use the steamer for other things after you're done with your eggs.

  • You might want to go with that then. In fact, my Egg Genie was supposed to come with a steamer tray insert - but alas, it wasn't included. Of course, I could just use the egg tray for that purpose.
