Diana's style was much better for the few years of her adult life that she was "not royal"--both before and after her marriage. While the courtiers and the ladies of the royal wardrobe had hold of her, she never looked like a member of our generation with those silly hats and shoes dyed to match. She looked more like something out of a soap opera. I'm glad she had a few months of freedom and happiness at the end, there. She certainly looked better.
