  • jesus i wouldn't wanna be playing this in steve irwin's household

  • brings back great memories

  • wow, i remember this, man, the graphics on this were so cool back in the day

  • I've lost this disk :( i dont know where it is :(

  • Still got a CD of Demo one. But sadly, the Techs aren't working

  • damn how in the world would you dislike this? the one who disliked was... was... i can't even tell what he is!

  • Ps1 tech demo looks as good as a ps2, ps2 tech demo looks as good as a ps3, ps3 tech demo looks as good as... Well you see where I'm going with this.

  • Probably not worth anything

  • Man those were the fucking days! When everything wasn't an FPS.

  • sega saturn is so fucking better, idiots.

  • i was 5 years old :( i miss the good ol'days

PSX the best console ever made, and i'm a proud Playstation Consumer.

  • ps1 is my favorite video game console of all time .

so many memories , and hours spent playing metal gear solid , gran turismo , apocalypse , duke nukem time to kill , and so many other games , my best video game memories belong to my ps1

  • yee amazing nostalgic, remeber playing this demo for hours :)

  • so nostalgic fuck all of new consoles

  • @Dandys11 I fucking agree.

  • @19KiLLa92 thanks, finally someone who agree

  • love how the fish are rendered in 2d...still impreesive...ive recently acquired 2 ps1's for $10 an SCPH7501 and SCPH9001 w/extras :) ahhh my childhood memories...i miss the 90's

  • Wow/ I thought I was the only one who had this...I never knew what is war except that it was only a demo - I also had a demo thing where you could swim a dolphin but it never did anything - it didnt come out of the water, but it was quite realistic - and it wasn't anything to do with "Echo the Dolphin" - did anyone have something like that?

  • I love this.

This was my first experience with the Playstation.

Left quite an impression I can telly oyu.

That I would seek to hear this music on the internet, more than a decade ofter I heard it, rather than any of the other first games I had for that console, speaks volumes about how much I loved this as a kid.

  • I remember it, I played it like every day when I was 3-5 : > too bad we don't have that PSOne yet, or the tech demo :l

  • On that disc was also a music player, really would like to see that again, it was the only reason why I bought the PS1

  • Oh god, I was scared shitless when testing this as a young kid. Even the T-Rex demo wasn't as horrifying as this.

  • I still have this demo. I'm going to play it on my 50 inch HD TV now. May even have a joint too :D

  • @leahcimrac good bragging!

  • @johanneszero1990 lol. I only said it because i originally played this stuff on a 18 inch shitty tv from the 90s.

  • @leahcimrac well I can agree, this along with a joint.. AMAZING

  • I had this demo up until a year ago when I threw all my PS1 demos away.

  • @ssjdagas

ooo mistake man....i made the same one aswell tho, trouble is i reckon they might be worth a bit in the future!

  • when I sold my psone I decided to keep the demo-disc =)

  • i dunno why but when i first saw this as a kid the tune made me sad lol

  • Playable Demos: Abe's Oddysee Formula 1 '97 Hercules Lifeforce Tenka Porsche Challenge Rage Racer Kurushi Overboard Technical: Dino Manta V - CD Video: Soul Blade Rosco McQueen still got mine ever since my brother got the ps1 when it was realeased in europe SCED-00816
  • My parents sold my PS1 when i got my PS2 one christmas for a box of sausages -_- How respectles for the greatest game console ever! Im still a little bit angry today, oh well, parent that dont know true quality...well, they regret it too :D

  • Surprised no-one mentioned steve irwin.

  • Omg... i remember this so well

I still have the actual demo disc. I used to play wih the manta and the dino all the time. lol wow

  • I prefer the T-Rex tech demo, which was more impressive in 95 !

  • @ResidentEvilEFTN maybe but this one is best now.

The T-Rex screwed the shit outta me

  • i still have this demo disc (very scratched, some games wont work :( ) and original ps1 model too. :)

  • This is not just a tech demo. This is beautiful and has its ambiance.

  • I like to see new homebrews for the PS1.

  • this is nw sort of game on ps3 call aura

  • Dosn't look as good as the shark demo on n64.

  • Such easier and simpler times back then. This takes me straight back to 1995 when I first got my PlayStation. Absolutey fell in love with this demo disk that was included with the system. This music is so relaxing. I love to listen to this music, forget about the bad times now and remember the good times. The 90's were so special and such golden times. Such a shame life has to move on with all this new technology. A PlayStation 3 compete to this.

  • T-REX is still koooler

  • i love the fact that it´s accurate down to the audio stutter :P

  • oh man it was so good, brings back great memories

  • There should be a sequel!

  • omg so bueatiful

  • By far the most memorably demo I have ever played. shame new consoles don't include tech demo's like this any more...

I would love to see a PS3 version of this, and the T-Rex demo :P

  • that would be nice indeed ^^

  • @Hollander113 YES! the ps2 came with a weird tech demo that was more an abstract thingy. not quite the same.

i spent hours with these tech demos! :P

  • @Hollander113 It would be so awesome if Sony did that, a free disk with both the original and new PS3 versions just as a little example of how technology has progressed...

  • @Hollander113 Essentially pointless, the reason for a tech vid is simply to display some perfect art which can be achieved by such program/hardware/system and tbh a PS3 tech video would probably be an entire city or something along them lines, as the hardware progresses so does the work in order to achieve a suitable tech video displaying the peak of the given software/hardware/system. A living city would be just too much to design for a "showoff" video such as this and the T-rex, love this tho.

  • @Hollander113

Yeah, I mean it's not much use to show off a T-rex model today, but it would be so nostalgic and iconic, showing off how far we have come, with a super high poly count T-rex.

  • You know you are a PSX-demo when you've got fish swimming though you.

PS. When i was a kid, it was not PS1, nor was it PSOne. It was PS fucking X. (PSX was the machines codename before it was released. good days)

  • Lol, when i was a kid it wasn't PS1 or PSOne OR PSX. It was just the Playstation, i don't even remember anyone mentioning the PSX codename until recently...

  • idd, it was just called the damn playstation when i was a kid, and it kicked ass :P then came the ps2, and the ps got the name psx all of a sudden... and a little after the ps2 release the smaller version of the ps came, with the name ps one!

  • This demo contains one motioned-model, 30-50 billboarding-textures plus blue fog effect and lighting and real-time gouraud shading.

    That's amazing thease days.

  • no colizion detection... the rest is good!

  • Wasnt Hercules on this demo disc?

  • yeah and that battle ship game. and kula world.

  • soo many memories of being a pirate!

  • yea!

  • I've still got my demo disc somewhere. Is it the one with Wipeout and Tomb Raider on it? I remember the T-Rex too, could they have given the demos any better music =D

  • Damn, I remember this demo. Still got it somewhere. Used to just sit and listen to the music. Amazing. :)

  • when i was like 5-4 year old i play this demo if i remember right

  • I got this demo! Was this and dino made specially for the demo or is it a game?

  • Such a lovely tech. I prefered this over the dino.

  • Thanks for uploading this video!!! Nostalgia...

  • imagine the graphic progress from 1995 - 2005. 10 years. and now imagine whats going on 2020.

  • It increases exponentially, so the diffrent between 1995 and 2005 should be the diffrent between 2005 and 2011. By 2020 i dunno. It would prob be better than real.

  • I remember that from demo one disc, thanks for uploading this.

  • Love the music too. Where can I buy this demo CD? Is it possible?

  • Ive kept this Demo ever since i've had the playstation. You will be lucky to get hold of the disk.

  • @nevillemw Is it worth much? I still have one in great shape. Came with my ps1

  • @nevillemw I still have this demo disk!

  • @samsung5samsung5 I lost my disc :(
