  • Could i carry a small tripod in here?

  • @TravisDoyon You won't be able to put any average size tripod inside the bag. Maybe one of those small ones for a point and shoot camera.

  • Did the weatherproof pouch come with the bag? If not, where did you get it?

  • @soadlova The weatherproof cover comes with the bag

  • I just bought one similar...[I bought it from my local camera store...buy US] anyway, it is wonderful! It's as sturdy as Gibraltar &, it holds almost more than I can carry. The back-pack style is the best deal for a little-sized person like me. And, that weather tarp built into it is a LIFE-SAVER.

    b/b)O(.

  • @avallonmist I am still using this bag for most trips. I just got back from 3 weeks in Vancouver Canada and the bag held all my stufff from camera, to camcorder, laptop, wallet, passport......just a really good bag.

  • can this bag carry a vanguard 263at tripod? or any tripod with ball head weighing totally around 3kg/6-7lbs?

  • do you face any problems while changing lenses/taking your camera out? i don't intend to take the bag from my back to change my lenses/take my camera out.

  • @JC040696

this is a backpack design so you do have to take it off to get to the camera gear (unless you have someone else that you are with and can get it for you). If you don't plan on taking the bag off your back, then you need to look at getting a sling type bag.

  • @dial2fast okay, thanks. I thought of doing that method of the Kata 3N1 backpack/slingbag

  • @JC040696 I have had the bag for three years and used it extensively. When I want to take something out from the camera compartment, I carry the bag on one shoulder, more or less like a sling bag, and have easy access to camera and lenses. It's a great bag, and I'm buying a new one now since I've more or less worn the first one out.

  • Cool. That's the kind of bag I keep my D300s in.

  • I'm disliking this video cause he has a Nikon...

  • Nice review man, you really sold it to me, now im off to buy one

  • I wish I saw this video before I purchased my Tenba Sling bag. I love the Tenba Sling's asthetics, I love the size as well as the weather zippers to keep water out. It also has the pouch to place over the bag for rain and best of all it can hold one camera in the side compartment that all slings have, as well as remove some of the dividers to have a second full size DSLR on top with a large pro 400mm lens attatched. But with all that being said, i think the Kata bag is a much better bag.

  • i need a bag th will hold a

    T2i with battery grip

    55-200

    50mm

    18-55

and some extra crap. i need on that will like fit inside a regular backpack. thanks!

  • @Sunshockey14 easly

  • @Sunshockey14 KATA 3N1 30

  • i hate back pack camera bags is because its easy for anyone behind u to steal it, specially if ur in a crowded place..my friends 5dmarkII was stolen because he was using a backpack camera bag.while he was travelling in france..

  • just a thought, wouldnt that be easier to get ripped off by some crooks? .. the camera being front mounted? I've seen SLR backpacks with the opening towards your back so its being covered by youself. Im sure this has been mention but maybe this particular style bad sparked an idea to mount the camera towards the back.. Great videos BTW!!! subscribed.

  • @wootskirttt I like this bag except for this problem. It would be so easy for some thief to unzip the bottom and run off with your equipment. This is a fatal design flaw.

BTW, can you tell me which backpack or which brand you saw with the camera compartment opening on the other side of the backpack, where it rests on your back? Thanks.

  • Thanks for a great review, just what I've been lookin for :)

  • You CAN fit a 17" Macbook Pro in this bag. I tried it out at a store and it fit perfectly.

  • Hey, i got a 17" compaq presario laptop. you said that you can fit a 17" macbok. do you think my laptop can fit into this bag?

  • I own this bag for almost a year now. I will give 3 stars out of 5.

  • They didn't think in robbering!! i'ts s easy to open the zippers and take away the camera :\, don't you think?

  • I have an macbook with 15.4 inches, do you think it will fit in this bag??

  • The only thing that annoys me is that anyone can get into you're camera part.

  • thank you for the review. would be nice to see you wearing the bag so you see how big it is and how it looks

  • Bought this bag yesterday, I had a sling bag and that was so uncomfortable, especially lugging it around during weddings and model shoots, I prefer this, its comfortable and its practical, also another big plus is the no name logo's on it, as you said, it does not advertise, BIG CAMERA inside so thats a bonus, thanks for the review

  • @cameramotion

Thanks for the info. was going to buy one of the 465 model. but you made me change my mined.

just got a pany GH1 hope you don't have any bad reports on them .lol ; )

  • Wait, are you saying the the company Kata makes weapons, or that because its an Israeli company and weapons are made in israel then you shouldn't buy the bag. The fact that you seem to have a predisposed hatred for israel is appaling and downright ignorant. On that train of thought, we shouldnt buy anything made in the US, China, Canada, or any major industrialized country or almost any company because weapons are made in those countries too!

  • I think that a boicot to Israel is the way to

go. they have the GUNS and the

undermine the UN USA and EU besides the whole world that ASK ISRAEL NOT

    TO INVADE PALESTINIAN TERRITORY

    NOT MORE SETTLEMANS!!!

aRE YOU jew? i AM nOT mUSLIN? Maybe you defend your own ideals when I defend the truth, that is why you are angry at me, sorry:)

  • Learn to spell before you "defend the truth". Kata makes body armor, not weapons.

  • Great review, very helpful. Based on your review, I decided to purchase the backpack and was not disappointed. Thank you!

  • @virhua based on your comment, I might get this one haha :b

  • i have got a question!

  • great review! i was just looking for a bag like this. i wanted something that could hold a laptop, but 1) wasnt too big and 2) didnt advertise that i was carrying a small fortune on my back

  • Thank you, this was very helpful!

  • Great bag for kit transportation, but not one to easily work from whilst on the hoof, especially in 'street' / 'Urban' situations. Camera bags seem so bulky and awkward to use these days from off the shoulder. I want a bag that carries minimal amount of gear to use in combination with a photogs vest, but they are so hard to come by. Not everyone wants to haul their whole armoury about on short trips.

  • This Kata bag is replaced by DR467i recently and you now have an additional strap to hold your tripod. It really holds well. Other new feature is the zipper in the middle layer. You can unzip and use it as a standard bagpack. Backpad feels much better than Lowepro fastpack 250. I am really satisfied with the bag. The only drawback is that bulgy zoom lenses will not fit in small compartments in lower storage. You can at least take one bulgy lens in the upper storage, but that's about it.

  • Do you have to wear the waist support or does it tuck away at all?

  • Hello, thank you for the review. I have a D700 and a 17" MacBookPro. Are you sure a 17" laptop goes inside the bag, coz many of the reviews that i read said that a 15" laptop space is available. will you please clarify this. Thank you once again.

  • I used a measuring tape to measure the maximum internal W X H of the laptop space. W = 12" & H = 15.5". This is the very max I measured. Anything more and it will bust out of the zipper. Hope this helps.

  • hey my hp dv9000 measured w=11 and h 15 and 9/16.... so just one mark above 15.5 , do you think i could still squeeze it in?

  • @karmapilots Hi, just bought this awesome bag 3 days ago. 17" means its screen is 17 inches diagonally across the screen. Yes, it fits my 17" macbook pro perfectly. Hope this helps.

  • Thanks for the review, very useful.

  • Thanks alot for this review! All the pictures online didn't quite help exactly. I'm about to go on a trip that needs my 15'4 laptop + DSLR and this seems like the perfect bag because I've also wanted additional space for other things. Very helpful, thanks!

  • best bag ever

  • Awesome bag, great review.

  • *bag not back!

  • Nice review, I agree it is a great back.

  • I will take your bag if you don't want it.

  • Can you explain to me what happens if you are walking around and someone opens up those front zippers?? Dead Camera!!!!

So... That´s why I´m think I´ll go for the Fastpro by Lowepro it´s more secure.. but I don´t like that much.. so...

    What should I get??????

  • even if you open the zippers all the way the compartment won't fall out unless you pull it out

  • Very helpful. Thanks. Off to the shop to check this out in person.

  • Very helpful video. Thank you.

  • Thank you for a good review.

  • can hold my 18,4" wide screen acer laptop??? its realy hard to find a laptop/dslr combo

  • i think the kata dr-467 can hold a 17'' laptop

  • nice review, thx!

  • perfect! the bag is ...; makes me drool a Tahiti want to know How much !!!!!!!

  • There is so much stuff in that bag lol

  • Hey bro I bought the Dr-466 and I totally love t!!! It holds all of my gear and it doesnt fall out anywhere. It holds my 15.4" MacBook Pro perfectly too!

  • I just bought my black/black bag today and I cannot wait for it to come. I also have the Kata 3N1-20 bag and that is a great bag too.

  • i just got my d60 today...where can buy this bag?

  • Amazon

  • i bought the black black...

black red seems to be a good match as well but i would prefer all black

  • just got this bag today... good bag

by the way... D60 with a battery pack? i thought nikon dont have any battery pack for D60

  • Which one do u think is better the Black Green or the Green Red? bag

  • i would prefer black green. green red seems odd to me...

  • no look theres a Black Black, Black and a green , or black and a red.

  • i is only the front parts that are coloured red or green, and i believe the inside is still yellow and not red or green, please correct me if i am wrong

  • will the sigma 70-200 2.8 lens with reversed hood fit in it?

  • The Sigma 70-200 is a pretty long lens, I don't think it will go in like the way I have it, but you might be able to put it in sideways. Look at the dimensions I specified in an earlier comment.

  • @dial2fast it does, i got one, it's a bit of rearanging, see it here:

  • thanks for the review!!! after watching this i decided to get one... mine just came in today... very nice on the back !!!

  • Great review, are you sure you don't work for KATA?? Just kidding, but I bought this bag yesterday and was not completely sure if it was what I wanted. I think after viewing your video, I will keep it. Again, you did a great job here.

  • Easy compartment for stealing your camera.

  • I just got the same bag....so far, it seems to be the ticket! Great deal on Amazon via Adorama that includes a Manfrotto monopod - also when you go to register the monopod, there is a link for a $10 rebate from National Geopgraphic for the Kata bag!

  • Nice review - thx. Now I know, that I want one! :)

  • How bulky do you find this bag? I am worried that it might like huge on a small person like me (5 feet tall)

  • Nevermind, just recieved mine. Very nice size. Not overly huge, just thick from the back to the front of the bag. However, the bag has very nice material and fits everything perfectly! Great buy!

  • hey thanks for the review... it is informative...

  • How do you think this compares witht he Tenba Gen-3 bag?

  • I have only seen the Tenba Gen3 bag on Youtube prior to buying mine. It looks well built but personally I think it's ugly. That's why I didn't consider it.

  • Here's the dimension for the 3 bags.

    DR465 (no compartment for laptop)

    External Dimension

    L 13.4 X W 6.3 X H 16.9

    Internal Dimension

    L 13 X W 5.9 X H 7.5

  • DR466

    External Dimension

    L 13.4 X W 9.3 X H 16.9

    Internal Bottom Compartment

    L 13 X W 5.9 X H 7.5

    Laptop Compartment

    L 9.4 X W 1.8 X H 14.2

  • DR467

    External Dimension

  • Thanks for a great video. I think this is the perfect bag for the amateur..me..lol. ..and thanks you for showing us how the camera fits and the size of the lens on it..big help.

Is this the newer version...the one I see on sale is the DPS 465?

  • There is DR-465, DR-466, DR-467. The DR-465 don't have a compartment for laptop. The DR-466 and DR-467 are very similar in dimension.

I bought mine on Amazon website in the US!!!

  • Thanks for your review..

  • Thanks, I wanted to really see the bag from an owners perspective! Thanks so much!

  • Very awesome review.

Not enough backpack reviews on YouTube.

  • Awesome bag! Thanks for doing the review.
