Yes, That"s THE one. Not even one fucking wrong notes during 7 minutes and 32 secondes. I do understand what GOD means in that case. I am keeping listening this guitare players on and on ... Nobody can find better version. What a feeling man !!!
does anybody know how he gets that sound at 2:24 - 2:29 and at 2:44 - 2:50 annd does anybody have tabs for this versions solo at 1:33 - 3:55 especially 1:50 - 3:45
That intro always grabs my heart. :-)))) One of my Fave's for sure. To go to a live concert of these greats would be a most welcome experience for me. I WILLL it to be When the time is right. Ummmm. NEVER Never grow tired listening to this gem 100's of times. XXXOOO Love Love Love to Humanity. How this makes you feeeeeeel. :-)))
@scottgeshen yes albert lee drives this track on and pushes all this amazing stuff out of Eric. Incredible. Thanks for posting. I've been looking for this album for ages!
This is a Masterpiece of a Great Musician, unfortunately we can't see him performing live when he's playing this in Japan. I salute you Sir Eric Clapton.
@gumbyman540 ..OMG ive been looking for this version too..same as you i used to love it when they played it on the radio..dont hear it anymore...man does this bring back some awesome memories..
Back in my high school days, I had a Harman Karden Amp, a pair of big bad ass Infinity speakers and Linear arm turntable...I was the bad ass. I had Frampton, and Styx and Blue Oyster Cult and Thin Lizzy and of course Hendrix...and Clapton...and at exactly 2:46 on this song, "Cocaine" would pop the circuit breaker in my speaker if it was really cranked, the only song I could ever get to do it....heaven was this song through a set of Infinity speakers circa early 1980's.
With all my thousands of albums, cds, tapes, eight tracks, and even a few reel to reels, I've never had this in my collection. I will remedy that shortly.
Just for your info, chalkietalkie7, the Blues Brother to whom you're referring is bassist Donald "Duck" Dunn, also late of Booker T and the MGs and, BTW, a wonderful, guest performance on Tom Petty and the Heartbreaker's "Woman in Love" ((the studio version from "The Waiting"!).
dpmusicchannel - Yes! I could not agree more. One of the things I love about this song (and the version from the Crossroads 2004 concert) is when Clapton is NOT playing lead. Hearing Albert Lee with his rich, full sound and Clapton backing up with his beautiful flat, tinny blues guitar is some of my favorite music on this album. The same can be said of Doyle Bramhall II at Crossroads.
on this version (my favorite) Clapton does the first solo 1:33 and Albert does second 4:44 which closes out the song... I know a lot of people probably thought Clapton was doing all these guitar parts.
Albert is on this entire album (Just One Night) THANKS FOR POSTING
What will the youngs understand in that, except the wrong meaning of the title.
