Dubai has no character or class, Vegas is far more dirty, colourful and most of all FUN as is New York.

I can't understand the attraction with Dubai, Abu Dab, I have travelled to these cities with work and can conclude they are soulless.

They can build wonderful hotels, huge sky scrapers but you cant buy what Vegas, New York has in abundance Character, soul and a sense of fun!!

Think this depends upon what "metric" you are using. Having been to Dubai, I feel they win for the shopping category, as well as the sheer number of skyscrapers. Las Vegas wins for entertainment and human rights. Since gaming and prostitution are not legal in the Dubai, we cannot draw a comparison in these areas.
